Any "he's coming off an injury" is just some trying to buy time and avoid the L for saying some dumb ass shit.

Jabari should be a good pro who has some 20 and 7 seasons. Nothing wrong with that at all.

This is about ThaTruth posting that he was going to "wage war" on Basa, and making a post about Jabari's career worth a week and a half after he returned from ACL surgery just to... make a point, I guess? Not even sure what the point is.

But I'm the one who always says Ls shouldn't even be remotely assigned until year 3 or so at absolute soonest anyway. No matter the player, Duke, UNC, or whatever. So maybe I just don't belong in OKP convos anymore.

He's not nearly as good at basketball as Carmelo Anthony.

He wasn't in high school. He wasn't in college. He's will

The pro-Carmelo "agenda" was guilty of saying he was really
good at basketball and that the backlash was unfounded. There
was never any hyperbole.

The anti-Carmelo agenda talked about his weight, how his injuries
had to do with not working hard, how he didn't have enough
patches, and that he should have taken the Knicks to the a title,
and how his wife is promiscuous.

Basa said Jabari would be better, and that he was more
like Paul Pierce than Carmelo, which Coach K ethered when he
directly compared Jabari to Carmelo after having just coached
them both.

In response to Reply # 19

But that's where it started.

Pacers won and everything went to shit after that.

And it resulted in every agenda leading to Melo.

Maybe Basa came out and said Jabari would be better than Melo, I don't remember.

But I remember him describing Jabari's skill set and using a diff player comp that did not include Melo, and cats trying to wedge Melo in to the point where they were comparing a 28 yr old NBA player to an 18 yr old.

Is there a different history?

21. "Nah, that was Ba's enraged diversion to 'Melo's scoring title"
In response to Reply # 20
Mon Nov-23-15 12:53 AM by Orbit_Established

He spent a whole year tearing Carmelo down because he
didn't have any patches. Same way he tore John Wall down
for no patches. He hasn't mentioned them again now that
Wall has been to several ASG and won a slam dunk title,
same way Kyrie has been to several and has a 3point title.

He picks things up and drops them when they no longer serve
him, and banks of people being dumb enough to forget or get
confused, which is true for most people, but not the Orbster.

Carmelo won a scoring title in the midst of the greatest
era of wing scorers the league has ever seen (Kobe was
still good, Durant, Lebron, Wade), and it legit sent him
into rage.

Basa was enraged, pointed out the obvious: the Knicks
matched up horribly with the Pacers in the playoffs.
J.R. Smith was actually the 2nd best Knick on that team.
That team being a #2 seed was remarkable.

It was all pretty obvious. Problem is that you guys aren't
smart enough to see these things, which I can't blame you for.

So all of that PG stuff was just a diversion. Basa doesn't
care about PG. PG was drafted by Larry Bird, for god's sakes,
another thing you guys aren't smart enough to point out. So
Paul George is actually fodder for the anti-Isiah agenda,
which I don't care about, and was never petty enough to bring
into this. But if I CHOSE TO, I could destroy him with that.

Basa knows this. He's just smarter than most of y'all. Shit
don't fly with me.

>But I remember him describing Jabari's skill set and using a
>diff player comp that did not include Melo, and cats trying to
>wedge Melo in to the point where they were comparing a 28 yr
>old NBA player to an 18 yr old.

Nah, Basa was feeling insecure with all the Jabari-Carmelo
comparisons, so instead of admitting it like COACH K DID,
he kept pointing out Paul Pierce. And then JABARI HIMSELF
compared HIMSELF to Carmelo, and Basa went silent, left this
agenda alone, and moved to a "Jabari > Giannis" agenda, which
he's also going to lose.

you been mad about ONE THING for YEARS.

and you keep presuming to know what i'm thinking and my motives. i like paul george because i like paul george. he put in WORK and improved exponentially in 3 years, something you have no appreciation for as a melo fan, given the fact melo's been the same guy since he was bout 17...only fatter (some might call it muscle, but you don't lose 8 inches off your vert IN YOUR PRIME by gaining muscle). PG dropped 7 points his rookie year. i shoulda said he'd be better than melo THEN so your ass would be looking more dumb and angry than you do now.

i'll say this and be out. at one time, y'all scoffed at PG being better than melo. i said he not only WOULD BE but already was in 2013 when he was only dropping 17ppg at 23 years-old and locked him up in the 4th quarter. and you got mad and STAYED mad.

PG is 25 now and better than carmelo anthony. you can cry your ass off from the heavens and nothing will change it. melo is bout washed and y'all cysing the next kirilenko like y'all life depends on it because new york dudes ain't used to having nothing to cyse in basketball. your high schoolers been washed for 30 years and the alaska pipeline didn't exist the last time the knicks did something worth caring about. OJ even outshined y'all during your best run in 94, because no one wanted to watch your funky knee'd center or your former piggly wiggly bag boy shooting guard puss up in the biggest game of their lives.

jabari was just starting to be the focal point of the bucks when he tore his ACL. he was 19.

now, he's 20 and been back for two weeks. i can wait. i have PLENTY of other stuff to occupy my time on this board. so, get yours in now, because i always get mine when it's my turn.

BOTH Zingis and Jabari idolized 'Melo....how sad are you
about that exactly!??!

But this ain't have to happen, bro.

Jabari, injury or not, was not going to be Carmelo
Anthony.

He'll be a FINE player.

VERY GOOD player. GREAT at times.

But he will not be Carmelo Anthony.

There is NO SHAME in that, and no one would have shat on
him for it if you didn't get your agenda signals crossed
and manufactured some dumb shit.

That Jabari COMPARED HIMSELF to Carmelo AND DEFENDED him
against niggas like YOU cuts even deeper.

HE sees what you don't.

If you just admitted that, we'd be good.

>you been mad about ONE THING for YEARS.

See, this is the shit I'm talking about:

See how you descend into talking about waistlines and fat
and injuries?

Carmelo isn't even close to fat. He's a gym rat, and YOU
know that. K has commented on it. It's precisely why his
post footwork and basic skills are so elite. You ain't born
with that footwork. It's all work ethic.

PG dropped 7 points his
>rookie year. i should said he'd be better than melo THEN so
>your ass would be looking more dumb and angry than you do now.

You're better than this. By this crackpot definition, we should
be celebrating Paul George over Lebron, because George improved
more than Lebron did.

George came from a lower floor, worked, and now has a high
ceiling.

Same with Kobe. And Steve Nash. And lots of guys.

George didn't "lock up" Carmelo. He didn't even guard Carmelo
for most of those fourth quarters. And that Carmelo played with
a torn labrum has to do with him being fat, right? If he wasn't
fat, he wouldn't have TORN his labrum?

matter of fact, he already better than Jabari, and will continue to be better than him ad infinitum.

>you been mad about ONE THING for YEARS.

which is ironic since the whole PG vs Melo thing came about because you been mad about one thing for even MORE years: the Knicks firing Isiah. Which is made even more ironic by the fact that the guy who drafted Paul George ALSO fired Isiah:

http://www.boston.com/blogs/sports/columnists/kaufman/Larry%20Bird%20Pacers.jpg

First he took the ball from Zeke, then he took the job from Zeke.

moral of the story: Zeke lost.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

You just compared bball prodigy Zeke to a bamma that was bagging groceries out of college. Makes sense I guess, since Zeke can't compare to the real big dogs of his era Bird, Magic & Mike. And Zeke didn't give Pat a real job when he was running the show in NY either, so NOPE! can't play that card, dog.

>just as racist towards him as you were when he was in college

Mullin was a hometown hero and Ewing played for a rival. Were they supposed to root for Pat and Gtown instead? Shit don't even make sense. And Mullin made the Dream Team along with Pat, and Zeke still mad he ain't make it. GOOD!

So the Knicks are racist for not giving Pat a job, but Zeke shouldn't have given him a job when he was running the Knicks? the fuck kinda sense does that make?

to be compared to one, first.

Melo college and rookie year:

22 and 10, NCAA title.
21 and 6

Jabari college and rookie year:

19 and 9, 1st round loss to Lehigh
12 and 6

There's absolutely no basis to even be making the comparison.

Dude not only said he looked up to Carmelo, he shat on the
Knicks roster, thereby destroying Basaglia's main anti-Carmelo
argument

In response to Reply # 39

He's more comparable to Melo in that he was more polished in college and as a rookie. He's just not as good as Melo.

No reason to deflect to George but since you did, he's not better than Melo was at 25.

Flynn had a Bo Jackson type hip injury. You were all in on him anyway. FOH.

He was never good, who cares.

At what? Melo is back and healthy, and leading a ragtag squad to 8-6 so far. I'm happy to watch the future hall of famer continue do his thing.

Like I said a few years ago....EVENTUALLY there will come a point where George is better, because he's 6 years younger. So what?

and same will happen with bari. y'all thought an
>injury would save you. SMH.

LOL, no it won't. And the injury is only buying you time to talk this shit a little longer because it gives you an excuse, and will probably be your attempt at an out at some point "see, he WOULD'VE been better but what had happened was he got hurt"...
>
>keep telling you...melo ain't NOBODY. he alex english.

Melo is still a better NBA player than anyone from Duke. Don't know why that bothers you, but it clearly does.

He's had a hall of fame career. Kyrie couldn't lead a team to the playoffs, but he's a good #2 or 3 when he's on the court.

>melo ain't OLD...fuck outta here,

Nope and he's still very good. But he's in year 13 and coming off knee surgery and he's not as good as he was at his peak

PG just fuckin better than

Melo at 25 > George at 25.

Nah, the scoring champ and 3rd place MVP vote getter was better.

I guess by that definition, Grant Hill's whole career was stat padding? Stat padding is what Kyrie did his first 3 years until Lebron showed up.

It's disappointing

You don't even believe anything

Disappointing because I was hoping you were actually
arguing these things with some conviction

Grant Hill did less than 'Melo ever did

Got hurt like 'Melo did

Somehow 'Melo's injury is his fault, and is a loser

But Grant Hill? You've openly used him to shit on
people, several times in the past

Damn, and 'Melo was the best player on an NCAA 'Chip
team, Grant Hill can't even say that : - (

this had nothing to do with syracuse/georgetown because NBA players blah blah blah. I took an L thinking Flynn would be good.

you keep trying to shoehorn one into the other. problem is, you have to reach for making weight jokes about a guy with diabetes (stay classy) and not talk about Georgetown's actual NBA players when the only good player out of syracuse in this century has weight problems because he eats too much in the off season.

you can blah blah blah about something else, and it don't matter. this is jabari vs. melo. this isn't georgetown vs. cuse. and if it is, sad that you gotta reach to a guy with diabetes and just pretend like Otto Porter doesn't exist. he does. You don't mention Greg Monroe, why's that? is it because he's much better than the cuse player on the same team?

and then there's dion waiters. lol.

but hey, a guy who went to syracuse for a year 15 years ago is still good (but not as good as OE wants to say he is). so that's 1.

Waiters is 6th man for a contender. GTown hasn't had a guard stick in the league in 20 years. Sit your mid-major rooting ass down.

Meaning he plays the most minutes off the bench for his team(there's the 6th man part of it), and his team is a contender(there's the for a contender part).

yeah, all 14 & 5 of him exists... whoop-de-damn-do. but what's sad is you gotta reach with diabetes as an excuse for why austin sorry.

Why don't you ever mention Hibbert anymore though? is it because you're mad I was right about him being a uni-dimensional (if even that anymore) bum?

Not our fault St. Johns looks awful.

The schedule is fine. We play UNC, Duke, Louisville, and Virginia all on the road so the non-conf. is more than tough enough.

Worrying about non conference schedule strength is something you have to do when you play in a mid major league. Nobody else cares.

Jabari can't even recover from a major injury in peace, all because Melo couldn't score a FG in the 4th quarter of playoff series MULTIPLE TIMES.

the game?

He took 4 shots and had 3 assists in the 4th.

They cut the lead to within 12 at the beginning of the 4th and then again midway through.

If he didn't score or shoot, you'd be saying how he went awol in the 4th while they still had a chance.

Consistency basa...that's all anyone ever wants.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

You have no recollection of watching him as a Piston.

If you did you would remember that despite a garbage roster and garbage coaches like ron rothstein and alvin gentry, Hill's teams made the playoffs 4 out of 5 years before he got hurt. Also we were never upset. As a 5 seed we lost 2 game 5's to ATL, and were swept by the 96 Magic and 2000 Heat. Cmon lol.

Even Detroit fans wish Hill could have played with the Wallaces or Chauncey. He gave up his *entire career* to carry us on his back to the 'offs in 2000. Dont disrespect that by lying about him.

I remember his entire Duke career, let alone his Pistons career. I don't talk out my ass about things I learned about on youtube. Wrong guy.

I know. A lot like most of Carmelo's Denver years, minus the conference finals run.

He was an excellent player, who took a garbage team to the playoffs but "did nothing"(the Duke guy's own words). If Melo's a stat padder, so is Hill.

*You must've missed it, but I don't consider either a "stat padder". Just making the Duke guy be consistent.

Grant Hill was also a ferocious defender and sublime playmaker

Hard to be a stat padder when you are playing a total floor game. This was my only motivation for posting. He said something stupid about Grant Hill, beyond that I dont actually have any stance on the rest of it.

And before you compare teammates, Hill never even had an Andre Miller or Marcus Camby, much less a Chauncey Billups. Before his ankle injury at 27 he led bad teams to their absolute fullest potential and always lost to better, if not significantly better, teams. If you think thats Melo, cool. Prior to the knee of course. At his age, with the knee, his prime is definitely over, even tho its not his fault.

edit: i forgot to add that your football team lost. they imploded or something, right? something about angry player or something. i really dunno because i don't follow college football. good luck next year, anyway.

i laughed at basa madmaking of OE and then y'all made a connection i didn't care about much at the time and now you two stay focused on me laughing at basa's madmaking.

it is what it is. when basa's madmaking isn't hilarious, i won't care about melo. but you two aren't gonna take that fun away from me, no matter how much you want to.

edit: and, to be clear: I root for georgetown players in the nba. but i don't give a fuck if you're a duke grad, cuse grad, nova grad, ASU grad, wherever. the rivalry ends unless i generally hated you as a player at cuse (hence my primary focus on Dion Waiters cuz he was an overrated gunner in college and he's a scrubby one in the pros).

1. that one was the lie (quite possible)
2. cuse fans had already pissed me off enough in other threads, i went in there.

i honestly don't remember. because, like with djr, this is some light-hearted laughing. like in that other post you linked too after where i said fuck flynn even though I LIKED HIM AS AN NBA PROSPECT/PLAYER.

edit: but in a thread about cuse vs. georgetown, yeah i'll bring up the nba floppity flopping flop trend from cuse.

that thread was not about cuse vs. gtown, yet you still brought it up. glad you're being so consistent with your honesty though.

here you are again talking about my memory of my posts from years ago (I was probably high <- honest. yep, that word again). the first line is kinda a giveaway that the cuse thing wasn't deep w/r/t NBA players: " don't really have much of a stance on it, other than laughing that he's the only decent pro... "

fun part later when DJR called Waiters "more than decent already" later in that thread (L).

>brought it up. glad you're being so consistent with your

i will do that. in that thread, i actually only came in because of OE's (I hadn't scrolled up earlier) advanced stats line when looking at fucking PER. PER. you know how shitty PER is. Fuck PER more than fuck cuse.

that thread was not the first Melo thread I've been in or posted about. I came into that one because of OE's stupid PER bullshit. I don't come into Melo threads because of syracuse. it's why i wasn't here until post 50ish because I don't care about these threads except for the funny.

but you got me a little mad, so...well done.

Cats used consistency with their arguments.

If cats said they don't like his game...fine
If cats said he should've went to the Bulls...fine

EVEN if cats thought he wasn't a top 10 player, fine. But argue that shit consistently. I'd disagree, but would understand people's POV

But cats start spouting bullshit about dude, saying that anyone from Paul George to Nicolas Batum to (insert SF here) is better...and then cats just jump on the bandwagon. It's funny because I don't take it seriously, but it's also ridiculous. Especially when if someone says that because XYZ, and a Melo fan uses that same logic to apply elsewhere and they're like nah...shit's disgusting

Melo's DAT DUDE and most know it. He needs help and can't win by himself. That's the long and short of it.

And I'm an unapologetic Rondo hater...but at least I can
A. Let people know I'm a hater
B. Put the hate aside and analyze his game from a basketball standpoint.

Like, a lot better.

And that's no knock on George.

But Carmelo was a much better player at the time of that
comparison. The only reason it was made at all, again, was
because Basa lost the Carmelo hate agenda with that scoring
title. That's the only reason he cared at all about George.

>And dudes fought that. And are still fighting that.

Dudes fought it because Basaglia made the whole thing
up because he was upset at the Carmelo scoring title. It
wasn't an authentic agenda. It was a band-aid for an L.

Unfortunately, you got on board for some other weird reason,
talking about how you're mad at Carmelo because he didn't
end up Larry Bird, or some other silly excuse you had.

The Philly shit breaths don't like Carmelo because Iverson
fell to Turkey after Carmelo fired him, and lead the Nuggets
to the Western Conference Finals

>Dudes are here upset and trying to diet a poster's motives
>like this is Hannibal. Shit is weird.

Nah, he's just being fully called out for his dumb shit in a
way that he hasn't been in some time, and he deserves it.

All the nigga has to do is fully admit when he's a liar,
who makes shit up for no reason, and he'd be good.

This nigga Jabari compared HIMSELF to Carmelo, for god's sakes.
As did coach K. That alone should have made Basa fess up and
stop lying.

Carmelo won the scoring title and was 3rd in MVP voting.
He wasn't gimpy the way he is now. THAT YEAR, he was far,
far, better than Paul George.

If someone STARTED an agenda, RIGHT TODAY, that claimed George
was better, you'd get NO beef. That's because it's 2015, and
George is in his prime and Carmelo is gimpy.

That's not what happened.

>Also OKS doesn't talk about scoring titles like that. There is
>really no need for somebody to try to distract anybody from

OKS didn't talk about patches either. Basaglia did. He started
that game about how Carmelo hadn't accomplished anything of
note either individually or team-wise. Carmelo did. So he deflected.

You're just trying to defend the fact that you got on board,
instead of being an independent thinker. Now you gotta eat it
too, pause.

Basa hasn't created a new post comparing PG and Melo.

In 2013, he created a post. Pacers beat the Knicks. Niggaz got mad. And have oozed into 87 other posts.

Got on board?

My thoughts on Melo are solid as concrete and have been so from jump. They're also the same as my thoughts on any supposed "superstar".

You could've just said, "Ahh... good series. Melo needs to play better in the 4th quarter." And kept it moving.

>You could've just said, "Ahh... good series. Melo needs to play better in the 4th quarter." And kept it moving

But the posts did numbers bc there were plenty other reasons the knicks lost that series. The 3rd, 4th 5th, 6th best players in that series were pacers. Melo out played pg that series. Melo also had bad 4th qtrs.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Nah, in 2013, Basa was clowning Carmelo.

Carmelo won a scoring title.

Basa deflected by talking about "playing to seed."

He made that up as a credential entirely because he was
mad about the scoring title.

Lulz-

Is that why you talk waaaay more shit about Chris Paul
than Blake Griffin?

Because you're consistent?

Oh.

>You could've just said, "Ahh... good series. Melo needs to

Niggas been said that. We also said he played with a torn
labrum, which was courageous. Nobody pointed that out except
me, because nobody wanted to intelligently talk basketball.
It was a Basa diversion.

Nobody has every given a shit about scoring titles, rebound titles, or assist titles. Stop.

The Clippers are Chris Paul's team. I don't like Chris Paul. That nigga stays losing. You hitched your wagon to a loser trying to search for a winning agenda. Go cry.

That injury talk is he big diversion. You're on the court and scoring up until the 4th quarter then you're injured? Nigga GTFOH.

That's how injuries work, imbecile. You rest them overnight.
You get your shots. They get progressively worse with effort.
That is what a torn labrum is.

It's CP3's team. You do understand that right?

Blake gets blame, not as much as CP3 since its his team. In the history of superstars that's how it's worked.

Heat lose. Bron's fault.
Spurs lose. Duncan's fault.
Wolves lose. KG's fault.
Rockets lose. T-Mac's fault.
Knicks lose. Pat's fault.

You acting brand new.

His max pre-injury was Milsap, which is an excellent

And we can line him up with Carmelo before that.

It wasn't close before the injury. Carmelo is
several tiers above.

I just think the injury renders this comparison
kind of moot at this point.

It's sad to watch, but I think he can pull through it.

I thought he had the possibility to be better than Melo, but that seems kind of far fetched now.

Even though I go back and forth with Basa, I do look objectively at these dudes and will give them their props. I am at a loss as to how he is going to stay on the floor. We know he can score, but he doesn't look like he is really interested in playing. There is no evidence of the type of work being put in that will facilitate him growing as a player. And on a Bulls line up with Markaanen and Wendell Carter...he is going to have to be balling to merit 32 minutes a game. So I am lowering the ceiling so that Basa can cyse him if he exceeds Caffey levels.

Wait he had another procedure? I thought his fitness level was due to him being lax, not injured.
