-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

he's been playing with half a deck all season. they'll give him time to establish his system and see what he can do with a healthy roster.

AD's already locked up, no reason for them to be thinking short term.

Even in the games AD was playing this year, he's been getting a lot less off the PnR and getting the ball Iso'd at free throw line extended going 1-on-1

ill reserve full judgement when theyre healthy but so far even things that worked well last year seem worse

The agenda has nothing to do with Al, homie....

It's the agendas within the agendas surrounding your boy AD that's driving this train....

it's pretty bad...not just by the numbers. AD seems to have regressed. Like he doesn't care as much. Maybe he's trying too hard to compensate for the depleted roster.

I cant comment as I have not seen them much but just thinking about it, their team as constructed is never going to do shit. They have a shitty season and maybe luck into another star at the top of the draft.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Gentry quit a while ago, his not getting his mojo back to coach The Giant Child.

Cousins will undermine AD, he's not letting a younger (and lesser to him) guy run a team on his watch.

Simply put there is not enough leadership on that team.

I mean is he a "legend?" No, probably the next level down.

Compare him with his predecessor Bill Fitch, who also had a lot of success in Boston and resigned with time left on his contract. Fitch won a title there and coached Houston to a conference title. He then got a string of shitty jobs and left. Overall he won more games and blah blah blah but no one really remembers him. Jones won another ring and obviously was a great player, too. I don't really get this example. He is pretty well-respected.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

i think them spanking portland was largely matchup and execution but the way they got to this point had a lot to do with coaching. after boogie went down and frankly even before, this team was pretty listless. they really turned it around in-season. i saw them live back in feburary and they looked like a different team than they did two months later as the regular season wound down.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

They quit on him. You could see it in their eyes. Ball and Holiday were awful.
However, maybe it had to do with the circumstances, being in a bubble, and not really wanting to be there.

using a Bulls reject (Dinwiddie).

I'd love to see if he can replicate that in Chicago.

We're under new (see: Better) management and I think it's ripe for an environment to thrive.

We got some good pieces, another high draft pick (would love if we get a top 3 pick this year) and a team ready to turn it around. Just need the right leadership and some health.

Coby
Otto
LaVine
Lauri
WCJ

is a decent core. Got a few other young guys off the bench that might develop into serviceable bench guys (hutch and gafford).

Any decent coach should get 35 wins outta these young guys. A good coach should get 45. Add the right pick this year and a few battle tested vets...I like our chances at the playoffs next yr.

To me, Boylen was starting at 0 and he got 22 wins this yr with like 16 games left so maybe we land at 27 wins in a regular year.

Atkinson is better than Boylen...so...

I think Coby and LaVine can play together. Lauri regressed because of Boylen. He even said as much at the end of the year because he got shots taken away from him and sets drawn up away from him. Otto is a thief but he can actually play. Just gotta get him to stay on the damn court.

And Dinwiddie was a nobody. Basically a bum who couldn't stay on our roster and we sucked. Went to Brooklyn and was damn near an allstar this year. Atkinson is good for player development. That's exactly what we need. He got D-Russ' best year outta him, developed LeVert and made them a playoff team when no one was really checking for them.

same sentence with a coach with a 38% winning percentage but that's how the world is set up, we have to be almost twice as good to get the same recognition...
