Every time I watch him, I can't help but think how good this guy could turn out to be. He just moves way to easily for a guy his size. He seems to have a really good understanding of the game for a 19 y.o. that should only get better w/seasoning.

I'm super high on KAT (like everyone else).

he's been so great, i didn't even realize he was shooting so poorly.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

I guess the biggest surprise is how quickly Porzingis has started to shine. We knew he'd have the opportunity, and we knew he'd have talent, but I didn't really know if he'd be super raw or what.

Other than that, pretty much everything is as expected. The stars of the class at the top, the next tier all right below them, and the couple of experienced college players/lower draft picks who fell into beautiful situations (Grant, McConnell, Holmes) are doing well with the opportunities given.

That podcast dropped before the workouts and everything-- this was when he was still levitating in that back half of the top ten range, right around when one of the top three teams (I think Philly) floated out there that they were intrigued.

It just seemed to make sense. Rangy big man, runs the floor, athletic-- and at the same time, a skinny tall Euro with a goofy name. Seemed to fit both what Phil would want and what we would expect from the Knicks.

I don't claim anything regarding him past that-- just that he had sexy potential and a higher floor than the other Euro busts because he was sort of an ideal combination of the Vesely athleticism and the Bargnani shooting ability. I certainly had no clue he'd start this hot.

I can't ever claim Euros in general because it's so fucking hard to determine how good they actually are based on a few YouTube videos and unreliable cyse-heavy scouting reports. If Fran Fraschilla was right every time he told me a Euro player was going to be a star in a few years, there wouldn't be any room left for American players.

I'm somewhat surprised just how strong KAT and Jah's numbers are from Day 1, but then again, I'm also not-- they were clearly special big man prospects in a league where truly skilled big men are increasingly rare.

Outside of not developing the way his skillset probably warranted, the injury issues completely crashed his career.

I'm sure Minny fans would like KAT to not have the same issues.

That KG cover is a jinx lol

Instead he ended up on a team where he was mentored by Lamar Odom.

Think about that knowing what we know now.

Much better actually. Has all the on-ball skills Euros have, but plays big, gets rebounds and defends well. Teague slapped him in the face the other day, Bjelly just shrugged and went about his business.

http://www.sportingcharts.com/nba/stats/individual-player-plus-minus-statistics/2015/

Sitting at 11th in the league in +/- after 8 games. If anyone's been watching Miami, it's not a coincidence - good things happen when he's on the court. He already looks as sharp of a defender as you could ever possibly hope for from a rookie, too. He's been the most effective defender on LBJ, George, Derozen, et al for Miami by far. Derozen picked up a frustration tech on him essentially coz he couldn't shake him most the night.

obviously, a lot of that is because of having jah in my life, but the top ten in this draft looks really, really strong.

It's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy too early to make any such claims about Russell. Cauley Stein and Kaminsky would be the only other candidates I've seen, and they look like they have a good chance to be perfectly serviceable role players. With WCS, we also have to remember that everyone knew he was a little bit of a prospect.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

the way the knicks bench absolutely wiles out at each put-back dunk is one of the top 100 racial harmony moments of 2015. Black people: way, way, way nicer to us than we deserve.

What happened to the poo-pooing of 5-8 all-stars or whatever the discussion was?

I think it will have 5-6. Lots of good players and not just at the very top.
