Common opponent: Memphis beat Ole Miss, Bama lost to Ole Miss.

Yet Bama is ranked #4 and Memphis is #13

A true playoff with conference champions (ALL of them) is the only way its real. Im happy to have the elite matchups at the end but its validity as a method for determining a champ is meh. A traditional Rose Bowl matchup will always be more compelling to me than a voted on national championship game.

I agree it's weird that Iowa jumped as high as they did and that TCU was punished worse for losing to a good OSU than Sparty did for losing to a shitty Husker team, but Baylor has beat fuck all this season. If they win out, they'll deservedly be in the playoff.

now, as far as the playoff rankings go...if any of OSU, Baylor, Iowa win out then they're in the playoffs. If they don't, they won't be. So who really cares?

And I would say that dropping the undefeated reining NC champ 3 spots because of their easy schedule is the committees way of giving them grief because of their easy schedule.

This month is a Big 12 Championship tournament, and it's working out great so far, but instead of praising it, the voters are punishing it for being too "back loaded" of a system. aka: "why are you taking away all the drama and manipulation we thrive off of? Here, Baylor, sit in timeout and think about what you are doing."

Big 10's divisional alignment flaws are a separate issue altogether. and I don't think anyone is in rush to put Iowa in the playoffs.

Baylor fit every model of a round robin champion and that was all well and good.

Giving the team they beat a share of their championship was a colossal error. The round robin model is by far the best, but its not human-proof
