"Mets vs Cubs"

I feel that the Mets have enough pitching to tame Chicago's bats and enough offense to give them problems....but i'm clearly biased.

But I do feel more confident this series than I do against the dodgers. I guess we'll see. Should be a good series either way. Tryna score some decent tickets under $250 for game 2. Might be a dream.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

what were they talking about his innings limit as it pertains to this game? I was kinda tuning them out until they started talking about that but then I missed what they were saying.

I wish I was more than a Knicks fan so I could truly get 100% invested when other NYC teams (outside of the Nets) do well. Must have been a great environment, despite the horrid weather.

Yeah, I hear you in regards to breaking bank in that regard, especially if you were a Mets fan since you were a kid.

I can't imagine how expensive tickets for a Knicks Finals game would be, muchless a Eastern Conference Finals game at this point.

Mets are my first sports team, even more than I ride for my Knicks. I am nervous but happy about how this thing its going.

I teared up when we beat the Dodgers. I converted wife from a baseball hater to a Met fan and my son is a born and raised Met. This was the first year I took them to Citi Field. We went a few times. They are as invested now! This is a great life lol.

He acknowledged the crowd every time we chanted his name in RF and before every inning, he threw a warm up ball to a fan. Our section went nuts when he robbed coghlan.

What a stand up dude. Not sure how anyone can hate on him.

Why did he leave the Yankees? Did he underperform for what they were paying him or did he willingly bounce on his own accord?

no one else on the team is above 140

LAst night, we got there at 6:30 and still had to do aux lots. Homeboy was like you have to get there 3hours before for main lots smh.

so for next year, we will each get a pair of tickets to 10 games. For this year's playoffs, rather than alternate games with the pair, we're just going together.

edit to add: the mets are one game away from the goddamned world series. I don't care if I set next year's tickets on fire if it means I get to go to world series games.

it would make more sense if the ump could make a subjective call on the lead runner like you said, especially since the outfielders can kinda game it and let it go if they know they don't have a chance to get to the ball in time to get the lead runner. but yeah it's just ruled a straight ground rule the same as if the ball bounces over the wall.

We should all thank him - that's a dumbass groundrule and the umpires should have discretion to say the runner would have scored there since he obviously would have. When it's changed, we can all remember this as why.

In response to Reply # 0

besides the wins...our young pitching (Degrom, Harv, Thor, FAmilia) has dominated.

Murphy is stealing Cespedes shine so hopefully Cespedes stays affordable for the mets and Murph is driving his price up that'll make it impossible for the mets to retain him.

And obviously, Granderson doing grandiose things.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

I don't know if the Mets were planning on offering Murphy a qualifying offer, but he's now an absolute no-brainer to not accept it - so they'll get a pick out of him too.

You might be wishcasting on the Cespedes thing though. I would fully do the exact same thing, but that guy is going to get stupid money this winter.

offer is like 16 mil lol.

Right about Cespedes too. I'd want to keep cespedes at 6yrs 150 and hope to get 4 solid years from him. But i fully expect someone to give him 7 yrs.

There's always the chance that he's 35 already too.

The cubbies have a ton of room to grow with their youngsters but they currently do not hit for contact and have made so many mistakes. Grienke and Kershaw legitimately would have averaged 15ks each.

Except that I literally did laugh when Schwarber flopped in front of that liner.

I know he's working out of position (sort of) but I figured a pretty early part of his outfield education would be a coach sitting him down and explaining "you're not agile. maybe don't leave your feet?"

"Daniel "Mr. Elite" Thomas Murphy (born April 1, 1985) is an American professional baseball infielder for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball and owner of the Chicago Cubs. Primarily a second baseman and first baseman, Murphy has also played third base and left field. In 2014 Murphy was selected to his first All-Star game.

Murphy is the first player in Major League Baseball history to hit a home run in six consecutive post season games. He is God. During the same postseason, he discovered a cure for cancer.

Murphy is also the first man to become a true legend in only 9 games. He is the master of destruction, specializing in demolishing baseballs in clutch situations. While the Yankees had Jeter, Murphy's "clutchyness" has made Jeter look like mere street garbage."
