"Matt Harvey is a worse teammate than CC Sabathia"
Tue Oct-06-15 04:30 PM by Orbit_Established

I want focus and attention from the white media

Harvey is a primadonna

Me first attitude

CC is the REAL Dark Knight

Accomplished more, btw

CC has Jeter's locker

World Champion and a Cy Young

Harvey in his prime and not even the best pitcher
on his team

CC putting his love of Yankee blue ahead of his HEALTH

COURAGEOUSLY pitched them into the playoffs, clinched
it while suffering from an illness

Of course he's not the best pitcher on the team dudes coming off Tommy John surgery. I won't be surprised if he dominates next year and DeGrom is a number 2 after the league has seen him for a year *shrugs*

Tommy John surgery > AA Meetings

I like CC more but this year? Nah bruh.

But If you dont think teams won't start adjusting is ridiculous. Even Kershaw was feeling the adjustment mad early this year compared to his outstanding year last year.

Harvey will go back to being their ace, he'll be in better health and his experience alone.

c'mon stop pretending like you don't already know these things.

but they're also really good at the mental end of the game. De Grom sure has a 95+ heater, but he's also REALLY GOOD at making in-game adjustments. Better than Harvey, and Harvey's GREAT at it. Matz is probably the furthest behind of those five.

You said something wrong in the 1st post about Degrom being a rookie and was corrected. What are you still trying to prove? That Harvey is better than Degrom?

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

...then promptly forgot how to make those adjustments after a couple months as Kershaw went right back to dominating the league as much if not more than he ever has for the rest of the season. makes sense.

Shall we flash back to his mediocre beginnings and then his being fucking BOMBED by the Red Sox and Phillies? Out of a dozen or so series, he's had like three good ones, two of which came in the same year (and were excellent, to be sure). We last saw him leaving the mound in shame in the fourth inning against the Tigers.

Do you understand that "____________ he ain't" means that is he is not even close to close?

Even in the 09 WS, his being worse than Cliff Lee was basically the only thing that gave the Phillies a chance.

On FEEL, I would have taken the ball from Harvey (and said so at the time), but I definitely understand why they stuck with him.

Fuck it, man, they were not winning this game but two more. Defense, details, relief pitching. These things win in the playoffs in this era. The Royals were better at all of them.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

But Harvey had baserunners on went Familia came in. Familia might've shut the door with a clean 9th.

But to have dude talk his way back into the game, after so much shit his agent gave the team about a pitch limit, and he threw over 100 pitches (had a great game, but still)...just don't get it.

Collins should've not listened. It's not like Cueto in game 2 where he didn't have a lot of pitches until the end of the game, and still closed the door.

But you're right, moot point. KC was winning regardless...especially considering every time the Mets made a mistake KC punished them for it (Murphy cost himself some $)

>But Harvey had baserunners on went Familia came in. Familia
>might've shut the door with a clean 9th.

Maybe but I mean fuck he might have shut the door with guys on and a one-run lead. The defense did him no favors, basically a classic John Wooden type situation with small mistakes compounding each other (3B, SS and 1B all at fault to varying extents).

>But to have dude talk his way back into the game, after so
>much shit his agent gave the team about a pitch limit, and he
>threw over 100 pitches (had a great game, but still)...just
>don't get it.

Let's not get on this 100-pitch threshold thing, to say "he was over 100 pitches!" makes it sound like he was way over. If he gets out of the inning in 15 pitches like he had all night, no one says a word. Again I would have pulled him but I am not going to sit here and gloat about it or act like it was the obvious move.

>Collins should've not listened. It's not like Cueto in game 2
>where he didn't have a lot of pitches until the end of the
>game, and still closed the door.

I don't know what was said but I am sure if Collins didn't think he could finish the job, he couldn't have said anything to convince him otherwise.

>But you're right, moot point. KC was winning
>regardless...especially considering every time the Mets made a
>mistake KC punished them for it (Murphy cost himself some $)

Yup, they played well, their paid their dues. The Mets should have opportunities, they have young pitching and kind of a dormant division in their favor.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

He was cruising, just threw a monster 8th, and was the only Met pitcher all series getting swings and misses from the Royals. You give him a chance to finish it out, but with a tight leash. The second it looks like he's lost his juice, he's gotta come out.

pitchers want to stay in and finish the job, that's nothing new. it's on the manager to make the switch when they need to. we never blamed pedro for game 7 of the '03 ALCS. that was grady little's fault.

Of course the pitcher is gonna wanna go back out. Collins looked like a damn fool talking about some "he said I really want this game". Mofo, you get paid to manage the team...manage it. Tell Harvey, man I love you and you did a helluva job tonight, but go sit yo pudgy ass down so we can get these last three outs.

Going out for that last inning wasnt a mistake, nobody felt safe with just 2 runs and their bullpen isnt shutdown like the Royals. 2 runs was NEVER gonna be enough. I get going up against them for a 4th time around the horn wasnt a great idea but it was a good gamble. It didnt work out...but thats baseball. I think no matter what the Royals were gonna come back from 2 runs, that simply wasnt enough against a team like that.
The Mets bats were dead after those 2 runs and their D was...yeah you saw what happened.

I was fine with Collins decision. He's done the opposite during the season and got burnt. Harvey just cruised through the 8th, only threw 101. His decision to let him go out the 9th was fine.

My hunger game is on point.

I don't need to eat very much at all.

I essentially have one large meal a day, and two snacks
on opposite sides of that meal. Said meal is usually a
very early dinner (as early as 4, but usually no later
than 7)

cuz a local radio show had the Reds' beat-writer on yesterday morning and he basically said Harvey just stays low key and pitches. He's 4-0 in his last five starts with a sub 2 ERA. Prolly gonna get flipped at the trade deadline to a contender looking for starting pitching.
