they hardly have any RBs (and this will keep them from having to make the "Rice" decision)

a starting QB in the NFL. I mean, the guy had a few years to develop/refine his throwing motion and mechanics. He made some strides, but his decision-making and pocket presence is just awful (relatively speaking).

It did appear that Chip was going to keep Tebow. Based on his preseason performance, I don't see how you can keep a QB like Tebow. I wish Tebow the best on his journey, but he really needs to switch positions if he wants a career in the NFL.

Not a huge shock since the Bengals are deep on the Dline. He played well enough this preseason to get picked up by another team though.

In response to Reply # 21

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Veteran wide receiver Reggie Wayne, who signed a one-year contract with the New England Patriots on Aug. 25, has asked for his release from the team, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The Patriots have granted Wayne's request, as ESPN NFL Insider Josina Anderson reports that Wayne will not be on the 53-man roster, according to a league source.

Wayne would be willing to sign with another team but only in the right situation, a source told Schefter.

Wayne's one-year contract with the Patriots had a maximum value of $2.8 million and included a $450,000 signing bonus. The 36-year-old said he picked the Patriots over other options for one primary reason: "I just want to win, point blank."

"The only thing I can do is let my work speak for itself," Wayne said Aug. 25 when asked how much he had to offer. "I know what I can do. I know what I can bring to the table. ... Whoever the naysayers are, just watch me work."

Wayne also seemed upbeat after Thursday's preseason finale.

"I'm still trying to find my swag, but I'm starting to catch on," he said.

Asked whether he felt like he would be up to speed on Sept. 10 for the season opener, Wayne said, "I don't have a choice. It's going to be here regardless if I'm ready or not."

Wayne played the first 14 seasons of his career with the Indianapolis Colts, who decided not to re-sign him in 2015. The six-time Pro Bowler has 14,345 career receiving yards with 82 touchdowns as a primary target of Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck.

The Patriots are also likely to be without wide receiver Brandon LaFell for the first part of the season.

LaFell has been placed on the physically unable to perform list, a source told ESPN's Field Yates. LaFell will be eligible to play in Week 7 of the regular season.

I thought they were keeping Mike Dyer for sure even though he wasn't that impressive in preseason as some added RB depth since after Latavius and Helu they just have Taiwan Jones who's more of a special teamer.

Really from the preseason I thought our starters could mostly play with anyone but the dropoff of the 2nd string was pretty steep still... if there's someone legit on the waiver wire at OT, secondary, or RB they should really take a look.

He had a huge game, but was clearly struggling with his injuries.

He was never the same player after. That was his last game as an elite WR.
