"I'm starting to hear, read a lot of experts champion Emmanuel Mudiay.."

since Summer League started.

And the Knicks should've grabbed him. Top 3 player in the draft.

Last year at this time there was talk of him being the top prospect.

From the standpoint of pundits I think it was an out of sight, out of mind thing since he was 1) in China and 2) injured.

But I wonder why he slipped on the real board.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

I didn't realize that until I read that pelton article I tweeted. He cysed everybody else in summer league, but Jah was three sentences about defense and FTs and only one about, oh yeah, he looked completely unstoppable in the paint. Dudes are so pressed to be right that they're gonna try to chile grape everything he does for a few years and cyse everyone else.

and he's big so he'd fit nicely in either guard position provided he was willing to commit to it and understand moving without the ball.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

theyre going away from the triangle a lot more. Commentators have talked about how that seems to be on of the focus points this year. Good ball movement -sans triangle

Dat Zingis looks like a smart pick....He gotta grow into his frame but the thing that stands out is he ain't soft. That dude seems to get off just as much playing defense as he does shooting the ball....

And granted, it's only summer league on year 1

But to miss on a possible franchise level PG will really sting, especially if Zingis doesn't pan out.

And from what I hear, Mudiay understood how to run the triangle (just has to work on his shot)

Your problem is not going to be Dat Zingis--I think the kid will be good....It's Feel, who, while I have a lot of respect for given that Bulls connect, insists on Triangle Or Bust. If he picked Dat Zingis because he thought he was the best player available I can respect that....But if he passed on Mudiay because he didn't fit some antiquated system Feel needs to be sent back to his ranch with a foot up his ass....

GOAT of his era......long live Prince.....God is alive....

The better coaches create a system that best fits the talent they have.I agree with not throwing away your system for JR smith, but some guys need to be kept (or gon after) and adjust your system to them.

The most annoying thing for me is that Jax is not the coach and i'm not convinced that Fisher would be running the triangle if he was working somewhere else. Makes Fish look like an expensive puppet.

highest ceiling were Kristaps and Mudiay.

They also were anonymous though.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

i wasn't even tripping when you threw shots at tyus when all i did was say i ain't interesting in no DR stock. i let that go, because no one thinks tyus gon be better than him. but, you had to act stupid and take it furthur with laker fans.

you gon hate kobe by the time this season over. watch. kobe ain't standing for mediocrity.

the thing that i love is his sense of when to drive and when not. and he can afford to be the aggressor because he's physically durable. his shot, of course, needs work, but his catch-and-shoot 3 looks pretty decent. i don't see the blow-by speed; i do, however, see a ton of free throw shooting via contact in the paint. he likes the step-back, and i'm always afraid that won't come around. he has excellent vision, but his passing isn't always pretty. the ball gets to where it needs to be and when during summer league, but i suspect he'll need to reduce some of his motion to make the same passes once the season starts.

i have no idea what comes of ty lawson's recent issues--my personal hope is that the franchise supports him by getting him some help--but should they keep both of them, i do believe they could play together in small lineups. i find it really intriguing, actually.

They realized that Jameer and Murray were better fits for their offense. It gives them guys they can run off Jokic and his passing. With Mudiay in the lineup (still not calling him a bust) the ball sticks to him more and less is facilitated by Jokic. Also both those guys are better shooters than Mudiay which opens things up for their offense.

Mudiays trade value is basically gone though--so I wonder what happens. I wonder if theyd do a Okafor for Mudiay trade lol.
Probably not unless Philly threw in other stuff.

I remember Mudiay was on the 6ers radar and he may not be a bad consolation if they cannot get the draft pick to get one of the point gods in this draft

for Mudiay to master the position.

He still has a lot of talent though.

But it's clear Murray is the pg of the future there.

I also think the way Mudiay moves is a lot like D-Rose. So I question his durability.

they got Jokic and Plumlee at C already. Though Plumlee may be a FA this summer.

They dont have a need to make a trade just cause both guys are busting away on the bench

Let us get Fultz or Ball in the draft and then shit will really get popping because either of those two pair really well alongside DLo and our vision for the team.

In response to Reply # 83

DLo is by far our smartest player off the ball and he always puts himself into good spots...the problem is the squad doesn't have many other good passers (Ingram is very good but rarely initiates when DLo is also in the game, Randle is very good in a narrow context such as DHO's or on the break) so that movement is usually wasted. Him and Lonzo playing off one another in our flow system would be so complimentary.

Their balance of scoring and distributing would be so dope. Add in Ingram's continuing development in those regards and we'd have a dynamic 1-3 combination.

The top example is always Billups. Who else?

Deandre is similar in that early career he was deemed a bust after a couple mediocre seasons, difference is deandre wasn't a lottery pick. Same with whiteside

We're seeing Dion Waiters go from laughing-stock to starter on a good team.

I'm not saying Mudiay will be a star. I'm saying that some of these high draft picks take longer than others. Especially now that more and more of them are 18/19 when they enter.

The problem that's going to follow him around, until/if he improves it, is his perimeter shooting....it's tough to give a player big minutes in today's game if they cannot space the floor effectively, unless they have ++ defensive impact. As it stands, he has to have the ball in his hands to make a contribution.

every night with 5 tvs on league pass watching every single minute of every single game you can't have an opinion on a player.

I've NEVER watched a Mudiay game from start to finish and I don't need to. I've actually watched parts of more Denver games in the past few months than I have in years because of Jokic and Mudiay has been mostly on the bench.

Mudiay is shooting 36% for his career you don't need to watch every game to figure out he can't shoot. His assist to turnover rate is terrible for a point guard.

You have never watched a game of his from start to finish. And you don't think there's a need to. And you have watched a lot parts of Denver games recently, but he hasn't played.

But, then, obviously we lost since we don't have DLo. Unless you wanna say we got Kuzma and Lopez for him, and them together >>>>>>>>> Mudiay as well. Hell, them separate are better. Either way, I'm not mad at our pick. AND DLo > Okafor...so yeah.
