"Where will the top free agents wind up?"

Might as well do them all in one post.

LBJ - Cavs
LMA - San An
Gasol - Mem
Love - Cle
Kahwi - San an
Butler - Chi
Deandre - Dal
Lopez - Milwaukee
Millsap - Phx
Draymond - GS
Dragic - Miami
Wade - Miami
Bknight - phx
Monroe - knicks
Matthews - Dallas
Monta - ATL
Carroll - Det
Tyson - LAC
Rondo - Sacremento
Pierce - LAC
Shump - Cle

Dwest - Knicks

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

#2 I don't think expecting zingis to be producing right now is realistic. He'll probably get 15-20 mins a night max imo. Having him behind a vet like dwest is exactly how you'd develop a player like him.

That's the only way he'll learn and adjust. He doesn't seem like the type to have his confidence diminished by getting 30 dropped on him.

I'm of the mode that you can't rebuild and play for the playoffs at the same time. It'e either one or the other.

But I get what you mean by adding D-West their to mentor the young dudes and add a certain level of professionalism to the squad.

I'm a Raider fan, we add those type of guys all the time. But you'd also get just that if you add only Greg.

to throw him into the fire just like that. I'm not so concerned with him just getting 30 dropped on him. Its moreso if he's not ready on the offensive end.

I don't see the issue with the knicks making a run for the playoffs while bring porzingas along delicately. The knicks don't have next year's 1st rounder so its not a full rebuild and there's no benefit to sucking this season.

playoffs just because you don't have a #1 pick is chasing bad with more bad.

Their main focus should be on talent development. Give Porzingis and Grant all the minutes they can carry. The team will be better for it in the long run.

The Knicks made the playoffs with a 70 year old J. Kidd....If they scoop up the FA's that they have been associated with (G. Monroe and Aaron Afflalo) they will def. make the playoffs IN THE EAST....

The real issue is will that be good for the future of the team?

GOAT of his era......long live Prince.....God is alive....

The Bobcats should be better.

All 3 teams that didn't make the playoffs last year that are better than the Knicks.

I already stated they shouldn't be expected to make the playoffs unless they go all out and lure in good Free Agents.

You asked why would I expect the Pacers/Hornets to be better than the Knicks, I said they were better last year, better roster, better coach.

And now you talking what does past performance or roster have to do with it?

Lmao....that's why I can't seriously talk to some of you dudes.

>I already stated they shouldn't be expected to make the playoffs unless they go all out and lure in good Free Agents.

there wouldn't be any back and forth bc that's all I've ever said from the beginning. lol

You talking about how those teams were better last year and that their roster is better now like someone is arguing about the dudes that were on the knicks last year or right now. Which goes back to 'people act like the knicks are going to be fielding the same roster they had last season'.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

So as it stands right now, those teams are better than the Knicks.

What about that don't you understand?

If the Knicks sign DeAndre, Lamarcus, and trade for Bledsoe. Diff story.

If the Knicks make a mid-year deal for Dwight. Diff story.

We are talking about right now.

But you want to play dumb, so I'll let you.

is dumb especially when dealing with a team with 7 people on their roster and half the cap available in free space.

You said originally that they are unlikely to be a playoff team this season. and your basis is their current roster and what they did last year.

That's ridiculously stupid dude.

based on players they do not have.

I'm sure your hypothetical imaginary roster will be great.

But as of 06/30/2015 @ 1:43 PST, they are not good enough to make the playoffs.

If they add players (depending on who those players are) expectations will change. But that is the same with any team.

Now you being overly sensitive about any of these facts doesn't make any of what I said wrong. It just makes you juvenile and combative for no apparent reason kinda like you were yesterday when I brought up Donnie Walsh.

And that's all I gotta say about this topic.

I did say its impossible to tell whether they will/won't bc there are so many free agents floating around. That will affect the whole conference.

I just don't see any justification in ruling them out right now and if I had to take a guess based on expected moves, then yeah i'd guess they would make the playoffs.

I didn't read beyond that bc your first statement was a lie and its about time for me to clock out.

Bobcats r the Bobcats....The Pacers r trying to rebuild on the fly too (D. West is gone and Hibbert is all but out the door and their bench has issues...)....

The Heat? They def. headed for the playoffs if they stay healthy....But again, this is the East we are talking about. IF the Knicks make those moves they will be a 7th or 8th seed...The team that u see now may look vastly different....

Again, the real question is wouldn't the Knicks be better off trading Melo while he still has value and TOTALLY rebuilding....?

Trading Melo is probably their best move, but I don't know what you can get for him based on his contract/injury/age. They'd be trading him on the cheap at this point.

If I'm the Knicks I stack up on fringe and wire players then go for a trade....The perfect team for Melo is the Pelicans.....AD needs real scoring help...A player with size and that can put the ball in the basket in a variety of ways...The West is too competitive for AD to be on some lone wolf shit....

Asik and Tyreke for Melo...and get a third team involved if the money doesn't match up....Since Melo has his trade rights he can veto any move...I don't think he would say no to that trade....

Don't get it twisted....The Pels def. wasn't crying for scoring for much of the regular season....But when they started to get hit with injuries it seemed like they were leaning more and more on AD to be God in sneakers...By the time the playoffs hit if AD wasn't putting up ALL WORLD MVP numbers every night they were headed for an L...

Basically it comes down to this: Do you trust Eric Gordon (VERY overpaid and injury prone) and Tyreke to be the true 2nd options to AD? There's a lot to be said about Melo....But when he gets paired with a defensive monster like AD who can score at will I can see Melo going nuts....

go for youth with the free agent signings. I like David West, but he's too old and broken down for the Knicks at the moment. I can see him getting injured in the middle of the season if he played a ton of minutes for Fisher next year.

Knicks b3st season came when they had kidd, kurt and Camby in the locker room.

Monroe is a great player and younger and no playoff e,perience. Dwest is hard nosed rebounder and defender and would have no problem calling out anyone that needed to be called out.

I highly doubt West is going to sign for a salary favorable for the Knicks since they currently stink. He's going to want too much money for my liking to play that role. I like him as a player, but he's too old and broken down at this point for the Knicks. I think he makes more sense of a team that's currently a contender so he can play limited minutes and not risk getting major injury next year.

cut and he appears willing to do it for the right team.

could West be sold on a core of Calderon, Afflalo, Melo and Monroe? He'd be guaranteed a starting spot and as many minutes his body can handle and a weak east. The only team that can guarantee him that is probably Atlanta.

I don't see him going out West unless he plans on taking a bench role.

why he wants to move on from a healthy Paul George coming back for the Pacers next year. I think he'd be a solid back-up at this point of his career given his age and injuries at this point. I'm certain he wouldn't go for that role unless it were for a top five title contender. Which top five team needs him at this point and can reasonable sign him, Houston? Atlanta?
