I'm just wondering because it seems like he has a completely free pass and that's fine if he has it, I just want to know so I can stop wondering why no one (on or off the court) is looking at him in crunchtime.

I get that he was expending energy on defense in the Houston series but they need him to contribute more at the offensive end now that he won't be matched up with a big scorer. He seems to be recovering well and now he still has another week. No excuses, he needs to be good for the Dubs, whether it's some of the explosive stints he had during the year or just more consistent offense.

To guarding beard in back-to-back series was tough

Especially guarding beard. It wore him down - as it would anyone

But at the same time he was being guarded by one of the league's worst defenders.

The Rockets series I give him, sure, he had to work hard on D and did a good job at times, too. Now that's no longer a factor, he's gonna be guarding Iman Shumpert and JR Smith, not exactly KD and Russy.

2015 playoffs

Jimmy (12 games)- 22.9p/5.6r/3.2a/2.4s/0.8b, 44.1% FG, 38.9% 3FG, 81.9% FT (Numbers slightly consistent to reg season, some slightly higher, some slightly lower)

Klay (15 games)- 19.7/3.7/2.7/0.9/0.7, 45.9% FG, 42.5% 3FG, 75%FT (outside of rebounding, all these numbers are down from his reg season avgs)

Add to it that Jimmy played a big part in holding bron to 39.9% shooting (10% from 3) and Klay getting roasted by Harden...Klay might be better but Jimmy has been better during the playoffs.

Sometimes players slump coincides with the playoffs...or they got locked down in a bad matchup for them. Ish happens.

If you've played the game you know that when you're guarding the other team's best player, that takes a lot away from your offense. You can only go balls out at one end of the floor and then you use the other to kind of take what's given.

The troubling thing with Klay is that he has a history of lousy lines in big games, but it's a brief history. That's a secondary reason why his play in this series will be important, the primary one is that they need him to play well to win.

he can drive it, more of a catch and shoot, spot up or one-bounce shooter though.

I didn't see much evidence of it in this Finals series. He's a young cat, so he still has time to add that to his game. Hopefully him seeing limited success outside of the 31 points he had in game 2 will motivate him to add that to his game.

he defended decent and even had to deal with lebron a little (didnt do as well as iggy, fared better than barnes). he scored here and there but overall he was easy to overlook.

GS really built a squad from the best to the worst. Justin Holiday, a UW alum like myself, is probably the "worst" player on the team and he was a nice contributor during the season.
