Warriors actually have a functional Big 3 and a supporting cast.
Cavs can't ride LeBron against a team like that. Even if JR goes Full Cheat Code/Eat Da Poo Poo on 'em

Rox are gonna lose, but they are gonna give the Warriors a series.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Rockets had a big cushion and then a big finish from Harden. They still lost. Howard is going to be limited. I don't see things getting better for them.

So far they had both their big guns firing (and Jones playing solid) and haven't been able to get a W. They will not get Harden out of his mind every game. They will not get Dwight out of foul trouble/playing this many minutes every game. And even if they did, they haven't won with those things. They need their bench to play better and it won't happen. Meanwhile GS has had guys playing tepid. Green has been average at best. Thompson has expended his energy on D and not had his legs.

More things can come up for GS than they can for Houston and they are more likely to improve for GS, too. On top of that, what the Ws have done so far is more sustainable than what Houston is done.

I still think it will be a five-game series, but a sweep is certainly very much in play.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

it's so ridiculous.

If the hawks win game 1 - is the "who will win the finals? Warriors or Hawks?" poast made?

of course not.

People just want to try and diminish this 1st year team's achievements in any way possible.

Kyrie may not even be playing tonight, which would require another herculean effort from #BathSalt to steal another game in Atlanta.

This will be a competitive series.

It's too early for anyone to notch another Finals appearance for the Cavs.

I'll stick with the one, capping this at $500 since I'm already giving away odds and I feel ever-so-slightly less confident after last night's post-game beer muscles.

I genuinely think it's going to be very, very hard for the Cavs to avoid a sweep. Unless their D has truly turned from average to great over the last month (which I'm not convinced it has), they're not on the Grizzlies level, and probably wouldn't be a sure bet against the Rockets, let alone this freakish Warriors team.

And realized that it's better than many NBA starting

They have too much talent. Way, way, way too much.

And this Cavs team is nowhere near as talented as those Heat squads
But somehow some of yall believe they can beat the Warriors. Word?

Lets not forget how the Mavs & Spurs beat the Heat in the finals:

Ball movement, 3pt shooting & solid defense
All 3phases done at a high level by the Warriors

LeBron led teams seem to get beat by real offenses
Its like Mike Tyson when he fought a real boxer, he caught Ls
Even the Magic hung a L on LeBron in the ECF for the same reason

Give LeBron teams like the Bulls & Pacers & he'll feast all day
becuz those teams never had a real offense

The reason LeBron has 2chips:
a.) Thunder relied on iso ball which played into the Heats defense
b.) Jesus Shuttlesworth

Oddly, the Cavs resemble that Thunder team when James, Ky & JR go iso crazy
which would play into the Warriors defense

Even odder the Cavs & Rockets at this point mirror each other:

Ball dominant wing players who are relying on streaky role players
& when the role players dont show up, they try to do it themselves

That aint gonna cut it against the Warriors

Sorry Cleveland but history will repeat itself

oh no doubt. That prime, OKC team which ran through the league and was
the most potent offense/beast team in the league? yea that 'real boxer' dropped
Kang-led Miami. And Kang-led Miami never beat the most balanced, well coached,
and experienced dynasty (Spurs) of the past 15 years, right? Yea that never happened either.

Kang's not even Tyson - he's just Hasim Rahman and threw a lucky punch that happened to land to win his fluke titles!

whether they were with lebron or against him. you, on the other hand, seem eager to be like "well they ONLY WON THE TITLE BECAUSE ..." and then come up with some butt. every title is won through a combination of the winner's strengths and the loser's deficiencies. here you are using an alias to cherry pick the fuck out of bron's deficiencies when his team lost and the other team's deficiencies when his team won. fascinating approach, very credible.

Imagine Bird winning a title against the best team in the league w/ out McHale and Chief?

Magic beating the Celtics without Kareem and/or Worthy/Byron?

Jordan winning a title without Pippen and Horace Grant?

on top of that, this is a first-year, inexperienced team with no playoff experience and a rookie coach. It would be unfathomable for this beat up, 1st year team with 2 of its stars seriously injured to win the title v. G.S.

Hell, it's absolutely historic and a high-end achievement just to get this team to the Finals.

but i don't see you bringing that up.

why? you have hate-crush on the Kang. It's gonna be ok.

Bird lost a couple times in the finals - as did Kobe. Zeke lost.

Great teams/players not named the GOAT (jordan) lose in the finals. That Lebron even got that Cleveland team into the Finals was absurd - he's done more w/ less than any other player in NBA history.

But please keep being dumb and wearing drenched panties.

I love it.

Is that such a far cry from 2-3? Especially when you consider that in 07 his team had *no chance*. I don't think that should be counted against him when just getting to the Finals that year was probably the crowning achievement of his career, one that includes two titles and two gold medals.

Even last season, literally *any* other player would have the "four straight Finals plus an Olympics is a lot of basketball!" plea cop. Hell Kobe had that one after three straight Finals and an Olympics. Yet somehow that just doesn't matter, because LeBron is a machine.

These kinds of high expectations and double standards just go to show that he is in rareified air. He has few peers as a perimeter player, basically we are talking Jordan, Magic, Oscar, Dr J, the Logo and Larry. That's it, and he's gaining on those guys fast.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Lemme break this shit down:

Jordan couldn't win without Scottie and retired before facing the prime Rockets. Only Jordan I respect is Brad fuck MJ. San Antonio... nah San Antonio cool and is a bastion of integrity everyone in the league should follow. They're slander proof for a long time.

Bron out there with a team put together mid season inspiring them to victory. Ky perpetually injured and Kevin Love is out. If both are healthy then Cavs got this easily. However, Bron has to work with what's around him doing against a seemingly unstoppable Warriors team. Bron shouldn't go bath salts every night if Ky is rested. That's someone to carry the load and make plays. This warriors series is a good matchup if the Cavs play team ball. I expect Blatt to make dem 'justments.

GOAT is conveniently left out of the conversation because we're talking about Lebron. Fuck your empty advanced metrics that attempt to disprove my facts.

People say the east was easy but ignore the cakewalk the Warriors had. KD and Russell went down. Spurs couldn't make it so that's another squad out the way. Mike Conley got injured. Warriors didn't face the Bulls that's all I'm saying.

Barnes <<<<<<<<< James
Green >>>>>>>> Thompson
Bogut >>>>>>>> Mozgov
GS Bench >>>>>>>>>> Cleveland's ummmm JR or Shump (whichever doesn't start)

Roaracle >>>>>>>>> Quicken

Still feel good about the bet even with hopefully only a days more rest. They can throw 3 guys to slow down Bron and keep everyone fresh without having to double team much and i see Iggy getting more tick from a defensive perspective. Livingston can be huge on Dellavendover unless he mua thai shooting at people as defense. GS tooo deep and have proven they can come back from a punch. GS in 6.

If they lose in the finals he's definitely gone, but I wouldn't be shocked if he's let go even if the Cavs win a championship. He's a better coach than people give him credit for, but LeBron deserves a more established coach in the tail end of his career. Blatt was brought in to help a young team reach the playoffs, that role was no longer needed as soon as they signed Bron.

I cannot think offhand of a coach who won the title or even reached the finals who was fired the next season. Phil Jackson left Chicago after the sixth ring but that was a total breakup. Alex Hannum left St Louis to coach the Nats but that was over a contract dispute. Gene Shue got canned in Philly but they waited until a few games into 1978 season. Many people think Paul Westhead was fired after winning a title but that's inaccurate, he was fired after the 81 season (or early in 81-82, I forget).

I guess my answer is probably not?

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Won the FA Cup and Champions League in 2012 and was fired the next season.

I suppose it is unlikely, but hiring a coach to take a young team out of the lottery and then becoming immediate contenders with one FA signing was unexpected too. If LeBron had any say in the coaching decision beforehand I doubt he would have chose Blatt.

Then again maybe Blatt is the right guy for LeBron. Bron's always been coached by unproven guys with relaxed demeanors who don't demand too much of him because their status as coaches is much lower than his status as a player. See Spolestra and Mike Brown Mike Brown Mike Brown. Silas was more demanding but James wasn't even in his 20s then. Bron thrives on being the alpha dog on the team and I can't imagine somebody like Thibs coaching him for a whole season.

Looks like everybody thinks I'm an idiot on this one, but there have been signs that this is a possibility all season. Whenever the Cavs won it was James' greatness, and when they lost people questioned Blatt's talent. His job status has been debated even in the playoffs:

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/05/11/playoff-tensions-lead-to-question-will-david-blatt-coach-cavaliers-next-season/

Maybe it's just all the controversy that comes with coaching LeBron, similar to what Spoelstra went through in his first season, but the difference is Spoelstra had a proven winner in Riley to back him up and tell James to deal with it. The Cavs don't have that in Chris Grant and in the past they've shown they'll do anything to please their king. If Bron believes a more experienced coach will help them win championships and he asks for one, he'll get it.
