I think Rondo will def. be OK if he lands on a team that already has the offensive muscle to hide his offensive issues...That list though is shrinking...
But why would the Lakers back up the truck for him considering that they don't even have the players to exploit Rondo's very specific talents?
It's one thing to be "difficult" when you are a young, pre-injury freak of nature, defensive terror who could control the game without scoring....But few teams want to deal with a 29 year old PG who literally can't shoot and doesn't play well with others and literally checked out on his coach and teammates....
Rondo will have a job...But $18 to $20 plus mill a year? I don't know...

Even with all the shit Love gets (and much of it is deserved) he can still pull down a double-double...I think people need to understand. Dude may not be the best PF in the game like people were claiming (that was always a suspect statement given that Love was stat padding in a lot of those games), but putting up 16 and 10 on a team where he's the 3rd option will get him max money somewhere else....
Rondo is in a totally different boat...His options are more limited...Still, wherever he goes he will be a starter until he is ran out of the league (if he can't get his shit right)....

no, it WAS a perfect situation, it was one of my favorite squads of all time.
However, WITH that, it was satisfactory to Rondo. What I'm saying is even in that system in that time he had gripes with teammates and the coach, so I'm saying we haven't seen the ideal situation where he could just be cut loose and do his thing.
I see the Lakers being a good fit only because of Kobe and his Alpha-ness and respect of Rondo's basketball IQ, AND that he will ultimately be able to free up some of the limitations since Scott may be more prone to let Kobe and Rondo cook if it leads to success.
I also think Rondo would respect Kobe enough to entrust him with the ball and the decision making.
man, I miss the big 4 Celts and the cast of characters surrounding them.
