I have never heard anything that sounded credible, but they are there.
But if you look at what we know:
-In the summer of 2007, Jose Canseco calls out A-Rod. A-Rod gives an interview saying that he never used.
-In 2009, his tests from 2003 leaked showing that he was on the shit during his time in Texas. In February of 2009, A-Rod admits to using from 2001-2003. Blaming it on the culture and dealing with injury. Says that he has never used as a Yankee.
-In February of 2010, it's reported that A-Rod received treatment from Anthony Galea in March of 2009. Galea was busted for bringing PEDs across the Canadian border. Galea says that he only treated A-Rod with anti-inflammatories.
-In August of 2013, A-Rod's name leaks in connection with Biogenesis and PEDs. A-Rod denies it for months, aggressively so.
-In January of 2014, A-Rod tells the DEA that he used PEDs from 2010 through 2012.
-So from 1996-2000, he is arguably the best player in baseball. -From 2001-2003, when he admits to using, he is the best player not named Barry Bonds. -From 2004-2009, he is the best player not named Albert Pujols. -From 2010-2012, when he admits to using, he has gone from great to good (as many people do when they are age 34-36).
So basically, looking at all of this, I feel confident in saying that I have no idea when he was and was not using. It's possible that he has been using continuously for 22+ years and has only admitted it when he the evidence pushed him into a corner for specific periods. I supposed that it's possible that he only used during those windows when he was caught and he is just unlucky in that department. Maybe the PEDs have not had a huge impact on his play but he wanted to use them based on his well-documented personal insecurity. At this point, there will be people out there digging and very few people are going to give him the benefit of the doubt if anything gets reported.
