A video has popped up on LiveLeak of a woman who appears to be ESPN reporter Britt McHenry dressing down a parking lot attendant, making fun of the woman’s features, and using the “do you know who I am?” argument.
It’s unclear what exactly made the woman who looks like McHenry so mad, but she is furious. At one point, she looks directly at the security camera. Some select quotes:
“I’m in the news sweetheart, I will fucking sue this place.”
“So I could be a college dropout and do the same thing?”
“I’m on television and you’re in a fucking trailer, honey.”

but although she's clearly awful she is being taped at a window that likely sees 40+ people a day behaving awfully and I don't know if there's enough here to warrant 'getting fired on your day off'(c)Smokey
It won't be a big deal either way but I wouldn't personally call for her firing.

But being an awful entitled person is her business as long as she does her job well
Thing is, again, I don't know if keeping a good public profile is important to her employer...people get fired for bad stuff posted on facebook all the time
If she WAS a parking attendant and said something offensive on Twitter, she'd be done
So I'm not sure this is really different
So I'm not sure if I should defend her or if I should be going in on employers needing their employees to be perfect in general
To be honest, this is too much to think about on a Thursday when you're as busy as I am

Maybe it's just cuz there are a thousand women in LA who all look exactly like her, and so she doesn't really stand out... but I'd like to think I'd recognize most ESPN personalities, and she looks like every other blonde girl who *could* be on TV.
If you're going to play the "do you know who I am?" card, a la Reese Witherspoon... at least be as recognizable as Reese Witherspoon.

I also try to limit that line of thought to adulthood, because teens are all assholes.
I do this in hopes of giving someone the benefit of the doubt-- "maybe this was her worst day ever," etc.
But I've never been that mean as an adult, on my worst day ever. Even to people who deserved it. That's not even me being special, that's just me being an asshole who won't take it to *that* level of assholery.

she was on there for a good while before ESPN. her biggest story was a report last year on Washington's locker room turning against RG3 because of his personality, which prompted a lot of "he said/she said" hot air. the theme of that report is kind of funny in her current situation.
and yeah, I've had my car towed/booted and easily managed to act like a normal, annoyed person -- without McHenry's touch for belittling evilness.

As if it's not bad enough that you have to get a ride to the other side of the tracks and pay someone to let you have your car back, they still manage to make it as excruciating, inconvenient, and maddening as possible.
Of course she shouldn't have said that stuff, but let's keep in mind that we're seeing someone at their absolute worst. If this was her everyday demeanor, then she would have been breaking stuff and throwing coffee pots at the tow yard, not just talking down to the receptionist.

Eh, if that company was towing illegally then the attendant is fair game. But I'm just guessing. I've seen low level workers get treated like filth by customers and employers and that shit breaks my heart but my hunch is this isn't quite the same deal. But I could be wrong.

The dogpile is heavy at this point because she's such a perfect foil. I've seen her split-screened with Rachel McAdams from Mean Girls now. She's an attractive blonde who is mediocre at her job and just went off on somebody for appearance, education, and career while demonstrating a cartoonish lack a lot of self-awareness. Even her apology was bad. She shouldn't have "take(n) the high road" in that situation. Treating people with decency is not what the high road is. She basically has no option but to be a punching bag for the foreseeable future.
She was definitely in the wrong and I'm not particularly sad at seeing her exposed. But on the other side of that, she just had to make her Instagram private because all of the sudden she had 900 comments on every picture she had ever posted calling her a cunt. She was trending worldwide on Twitter. Half of those trends weren't even English. The universe might be over-correcting here for a week or so until something else comes along.
Hopefully it's genuinely a learning experience for her.
