"The World Champion SF Giants 2015 Regular Season"

We've won three out of five.

Literally no journalist, pundit, or blogger picked us to even win the NL West this year (not that we won it last year).

Fuck 'em all and let's do it in an odd year.

1-0

(alternate title: time for over analysis)

-though i know it's not permanent, i like pagan in the 3 spot. i'm interested to see if they give pence a chance to bat in the barry bonds spot (#5) to give buster some protection. the only reason i say this because mcgeehee puts the ball in play so much that i would rather pence be the guy on first when it happens then buster.

-heston pitched pretty well. i don't expect a lot from a 27 yr old guy that never pitched past aa but i'll take it while i can.

-romo is so much better in a set up role. he seems much more comfortable and you get a sense that, at least in this role, he can become somewhat dominant again.

-machi is gonna give me fits.

-i miss flan at 3rd. sure, last year he had some questionable calls but i miss seeing that guy run alongside the runner on 3rd. roberto kelly ain't running for shit haha.

-let's ride the hot hitting crawford wave while it's here because we all know it comes and goes. maybe this is a the year that he, ironically, hits well enough to get himself a gold glove.

-i don't know who i have more faith in at the moment heston or vogey...but i guess you have to go w/ the hotter hand and vogey, though he pitched well, made 2 very costly mistakes. might as well give the rook another chance in the rotation...on the home opener no less.

posey knocks in 2. madbum goes 8. good game.

is it a thing that adrian gonzales doesn't play against madbum or did just happen to be his rest night? kind of odd to have one of your best hitters sit against your rival's best pitcher.

friday
-timmy w/ six strong. don't want to jinx anything (and it's still very early) but look at his era. he's pitching like he knows his fastball isn't there. he's got 5 pitches and he uses them all. he's getting the ground balls (and somehow, it's opening up strikeout opportunities).

-god bless casey mcgeehee. grand slam and 2 more of his league leading GIDP.

sat
-eh, lost

sunday
-really good game (at the end). ichiro w/ a veterans play to fake out the runner at 3rd. duffy w/ the game winner.

what i like about this team is that we're winning like we have the last few championship years. we lead the league in won/loss record when we're underdogs AND wins in 1 run games. giants baseball, everybody.

casey's making just a strong enough argument for duffy too.

i hope he breaks out of it. as much as i would love a farm guy like duffy to win the job, he's really going to be more valuable as a utility guy in the long run...and you've got to root for mcgehee's vogelsong like story.

Belt got cold hella fast, and everybody but Bochy seems to realize that McGehee is not the answer at 3B.

As long as he keeps his mechanics together and locating his pitches properly, Timmy will stay effective. He's not going to blow anyone away like he did during his Cy Young years, but he'll induce weak contact.

By the way, how about that Buster dinger?

sucks, i was rooting for the guy but it was time. the bullpen was getting worn and duffy has been playing great. i also hope strickland really has upped his game. supposedly he's been pitching lights out in the minors. he looked good this weekend.

also...they brought this up on the radio today and i thought it was a really good point. the giants farm system is always ranked in the bottom as far as position players go. well look who's laughing now suckas...

It's like we win 8 in a row, then lose 6. Repeat. Ugh.
