"If NBA Jam was released today, who would you roll with?"

One of my all-time favorite video/sports games as kid was NBA Jam. What was not to love? The image/likeness of REAL players. Real teams. Entertaining commentary ('He's HEATING UP! Boomshakalaka!) Insanely good graphics (for the time period). It was one of the first video games to play like an arcade game (or at least that I recall).

My favorite NBA team has always been the Spurs, but my go to team was always the Hornets. After them it was either the Warriors or Suns. The one glaring omission was obviously MJ (though he was technically retired) and Shaq. MJ and Pippen would have been lethal and to a lesser extent so too would have Shaq & Nick Anderson. Obviously Stockton/Malone was the most accomplished duo in the game, but I could never bring myself to be them.

Anyhow....If the game was released today, who would be your go to team?

My biased self says Duncan/Kawhi, but my rational self says Blake/CP3. But you still got Harden/DHo, Lebron/Kyrie, Aldrige/Lillard, etc. So who you got?

forgot about them when I made the post. But yeah, the duos we have right now are about as good and deep (pause) as ever.

KD and Russy does seem like a no-brainer. But, you would have so many legit options. I mean Lebron could defend Durant okay, but what could Durant do to defend a post up from Lebron?

They could go pure shooting with the Splash Bros., or if the wanted to do the usual "big and small", Curry and Bogut would be damn good.

After that, the Cavs. Either a Bron/Kyrie or Bron/Love pair would be bonkers.

After that, I'd say Clippers; probably the best "big and small" combo they'd have.

Both would be great offensively but the key is that I have a feeling Bron would be maxed out in terms of strength, inj, and steals with above average shot blocking.

it's damn near impossible to see past him and whoever he wants to team up with. Him and Love might actually be the better duo since Lebron has decent enough handles and Love can shoot all day. Of course, he can't play a lick of defense tho so maybe that wouldn't be the best option.

Would be a sick option, LMA's length defensively along with a high jumper rating would be really dangerous.

OKC with Russy/KD=Seattle with GP/Reign Man (if Kemp shot treys, too).

HOU with Harden/D12=Drexler/Hakeem on the old Rockets

Splash Brothers=T Bug/Mullin, my personal favorite team to run with.

The dream could step out and hit treys, D12's shooting stat would probably be a 1 dot lol. That changes the dynamic completely.

Against the cats I played against (but then again, we still play occasionally to this day so not the norm obv lol. I got a couple Saturdays in high school for tardies that were cuased by Jam TE or Hangtime lol...those were the days). Not even me goading or anything, if you couldn't space with both guys, you were gonna get jammed up pretty hard.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

screaming for computer player
who is running back and forth all crazy
to GET IN RIGHT SPOT!

Just like the real Knicks!
Watching them on offense is embarrassing.
The amount of basically wasted possessions they have
because it takes their players so long to get in
right positions to begin the triangle shit is ridiculous.

Take too much damn time and end up having to shoot a crappy
shot because the shot clock is running out.

That squad would get bodied by the Sixers duo of Isaiah Cannan and Big Shot Bobby Covington.

Wall-Beal might be fun though

And nobody was touching me back in the day with ATL Wilkins/Augmon.

My go-to team was either Mourning/LJ (so was everyone else's) or Manning/Harper (why, I don't know...but I always balled with them)

And Glen Rice had the wettest J in the game

played is like Madden '05-6 as I was finishing up/graduating college. I still got an old NES with the classics and sometimes bust it out to show my kids. Been thinking lately about getting a game controller and playing retro games off our Amazon Fire. Old NBA Jam would be dope, but I'm thinking a 15-15 version might be a lot more fun.

The lakers and sixers teams are tough once you unlock their legends. G-State is tons of fun to run with as well as Houston. And they had the Wade/Bron/Bosh Heat too.

If you want a modern version of the old game, it's fun for about a week lol

I haven't played it in a while but I might bust it back out due to this thread.

or damn close to free.

my team then was the Denver Nuggets. Gallinari + McGee. McGee was such a cheese fest, blocked every shot and dunked every ball. Gallo was just there for random threes.

In response to Reply # 0

CP3 isn't a typical video game character because he lacks the physical dominance, but hopefully they'd give him high defense ratings to make him powerful.

Someone above said Reke-Unibrow, but imo that's not enough perimeter game. Tyreke-Brow would be too much of a points in the paint focus. I need someone who can hit a jumper with consistency. Jrue isn't top notch in this regard, but Tyreke's J warrants little respect.
