"Your Top 5 NBA Players RIGHT TODAY"

Mine

1. Bron
2. Durant
3. Russy
4. Steph
5. Harden

Absolutely kills me to leave the Brow off, but 3-5 are just better health bets.

AD gotta get a team in the playoffs before he in my top 5.

I might flip flop CP3/Curry

Russy makes my top 3 bc he's looking to murder the other team every single night like no other player in this league. He's always in high gear.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

1. bron - just the best all-around. can control the game in so many ways. highest IQ as well.

2. KD - best scorer, has expanded floor game. could be a better defender tho.

3. Af-Am Prof - incredibly smart, almost as smart as bron. has improved on D, which i guess isn't saying much. but, he has. he's the best closer in the game, in my opinion.

4. steph - best PG. best shooter. significant improvement as a creator and defender.

5. voldemort - if he could ever polish his game, i think he could be the best player. i say that knowing perfectly well that it's the chaotic aspect of his game that makes him special.

because when he does polish, he puts up ridiculous numbers. he's probably my favorite player to watch outside of Curry and "Kobe-Mode" Ky

4. Russy
5T. Steph
5T. Brow

It's hard to distinguish between Harden and Russy. Russ is a better defender but Harden is the better closer. Plus Harden is the sole creator for the Rockets it seems (no offense to Pat Bev) and Russy kinda has an outlet in Durant. So I give him the nudge based on responsibility to his team. I can't, with good conscience, leave Anthony Davis off this list. Steph is having a great year but he has an embarrassment of talent around him and a coach who might already be better than Monty in year 1. AD IS the Pels.

2 ends to the floor. I hate when ppl talk abt 'defense' as if it's like
1 of 10 categories, and not half of the goddamn game. all 5 of those
guys fall somewhere between above-average and great on that end. steph
and af-am, while much improved this season, are both still below-average
imo.

But there isn't really a lock-down point guard in the league (Pat Bev is a joke). Conley used to be a pest along w/ Kyle Lowry/Bledsoe but they have to expend so much energy on the offensive end they just can't do it anymore. Elfrid Payton seems like he has potential to be a great on ball defender but the rest are really ball hawks.

his IQ is off the charts, his anticipation is unmatched, he's fantastic
at positioning, great at holding his ground. he's a deceptively sturdy
fuck. when he locks in he's like a fucking fireplug, you can't move him.

ppl think that because he's smallish and not a great athlete, he's not
good on that end and just plays passing lanes. dude's guarded KD
straight up in playoff 4th qtrs and held his own.

conley's maybe lost a half step but still really really fucking good.
bev's a try-hard bamma. good but overrated. bled is great when he wants
it. and elf's got next, he's got all the tools to be a lockdown
juggernaut.

Kyrie was torching him as if his name was Derek Fisher during their last meeting. Lowry/Monta also gave him the business early on this season. He just isn't as quick/explosive as he used to be b/c of his knee issue.

you can name any great defender in nba history and i can give you
dozens of games where they were touched for big scoring nights.
nobody singlehandedly shuts down great scorers every time out. that's
not reality. but i can tell you from watching him play for a decade
that chris paul is an extremely intelligent, crafty, committed,
willing, resourceful, strong defender, and that's one of the (many)
things that elevates him above a lot of these other so-called 'great'
point guards.

espn's 200+ member forecast panel just voted chris paul
the best defensive PG in the nba

http://tinyurl.com/q9agkbq

researchers from harvard just presented empirical evidence @ sloan
that suggests that paul is the best point guard defender in the nba,
and that he "suppresses and disrupts shot activity as much or more
than any other guard in the league"

http://grantland.com/features/department-of-defense/

head coaches have voted him all-defense 5x

and statistically, he leads all point guards in defensive iso
situations (oppt's fg% allowed and pts per shot allowed)

not sure how paul being an elite defender could be 'news' to
anyone who isn't living under a rock.

1.) Bron - somebody's gotta take it from him

2.) Durant - more likely to drop than take Bron's spot

3.) Brow - with a bullet

4.) Duncan - beat him

5.) Harden - unguardable

he definitely hasn't been the best player in the league _this_ season
-- davis, harden and curry are all playing at a ridiculously high
level (.600+ TS%, 27+ PER, .280+ WS/48) -- but i still feel like
someone has to _decisively_ dethrone him before you can take the
'belt' away. and that hasn't really happened yet.

1) Bron: Unstoppable when he's in Bath $alt mode

2) KD: Unguardable when he is hitting from long range

3) Harden: Unguardable when his midrange shot is falling

4) Curry: Always demands the attention of the entire defense

5) AD: Can dominate on both ends of the floor

Two player that can be top 5 players if the ever got their act together:

-Russy: Can get into the paint at will but shoots himself on the foot too often.
-Boogie: Unguardable in the post & is as skilled as any bigman on the offensive end but lacks patience/discipline.

Patty also outplayed him in the closeout game when Tony had to leave the game early b/c of injury.

Meanwhile Monta/Russy were giving the Spurs all they could handle even w/ Kawhi/Danny (IMO the best perimeter duo defensively in the entire league...just ask Bron/Wade) taking turns trying to slow them down.

Kemba is known for his late game heroics which is what made Lillard a household name. Outside of that they are both scoring guards although Lillard is really a shooter while Kemba mixes it up.

Kemba was carrying the Hornets after Big Al got injured so I would like to see Lillard do that same now that LMA is out w/ injury......the jury is still out on Lillard until then since Bledsoe torched his ass in the Blazers first game w/o LMA.

the most intriguing thing about Lillard is the way he's improved year over year, even though he had the ability to be an NBA mainstay as early as his rookie career. He's not satisfied, has directly addressed deficiencies (i.e. rim finishing, defense) and it's shown in his play this year.

But LaMarcus is more valuable to the Blazers than Damian. People need to stop sleeping.

All-time --> GOAT Kobe Bean Mamba Bryant

1. Bron because Cleveland vs Everybody
2. Russy because he's that dude
3. KD because he's got some GOAT in him.
4. Dat Brow because he's incredible.
5. Michael Conley because he's a solid player that means a lot to his team.

Jimmy Butler would make the starting five if he played for any team other than the Bulls.

Westbrook can just as easily hurt OKC as much he helps them

he's an unapologetic and mindless gunner
