"Report: Braxton Miller Interested In Transferring To Florida State (link..."

Crazy but def not shocking. I think I read an article stating that he was interested in transferring to Duke but Jeff Driskel was also trying to transfer there.

I doubt Jeff Driskel even wins the starting QB job from the QB currently at Duke.

I still think Miller transfers but it won't be to Florida State or Duke.

Miller is really good in Urbans system but Barrett is better.

Barrett is a better passer, decision maker and runner. Not that Miller isn't good at those things as well, it's just that Barrett is better. Miller is probably faster than Barrett but Barrett seems like a better runner between the tackles.

You cant expect anyone to come in and do what JT Barrett did

Meyer obviously didnt expect it, or he would have been the day 1 starter

Which is frustrating because like you said, he did have some decent games earlier. But a month and a half of practice for the bowl game, and Texas had 59 total yards of offense. Not all Swoopes fault, Texas O-line is terrible. But Tyrone's decision making was horrible those last two games. At this point, I'd be surprised if Heard isn't the starter next year.

Plus even after Swoopes committed to Texas, Barrett still wanted to go there, but Mack said no thanks.

Brown's story is he offered both him and Barrett and was going to go with who committed first. But that isn't quite accurate:

http://texas.247sports.com/Bolt/Brown-Talks-About-Swoopes-Barrett-Recruiting-32334699

However, I believe he did want Manziel and RG3 as defensive players.

IF he's healthy, I honestly think he outplays Barrett in practice and is named the starter anyway.

The ONE thing Barrett does better is run the option, but I refuse to believe that Braxton didnt get better with an additional spring summer under Herman/film study etc.

you all forget that JT had a year to redshirt but Braxton was thrown into the fire after TatGate exploded in our faces. The plan was for him to redshirt behind Pryor, soak up game and come in as the starter after TP2 left.

He has a stronger arm than Barrett, great accuracy at times (needs to be more consistent) and is way faster/explosive. I think some of you need to go back and look at his tape. He just hasnt proven to be as durable. Good thing is we have two capable back ups.

btw this guy

win or lose in Jerryworld, your man Cardale is going to be gassed after dropping 111 points (!) in his first two starts. would he be content to go back to third string?

Urban Meyer and whoever the new OC is have to do some convincing.

I'm convinced that 12 gauge could start for a lot of teams in the conference, but I think it's also a huge testament to Tom Herman to be able to get 3 quarterbacks to prepare so well. I've never seen this kind of continuity from 1st to 3rd string,

This aint the NFL and Brax walked thru the fire and came out frosty from his first day on campus. Cant do a SR like that.

If he's beaten out in practice, hey. He competed and came up short, it happens.

But he gets first team reps as soon as hes cleared if i were coaching.

that Braxton should get the nod if he's 100%, I don't think its a given that Barrett will be 100% by spring practice, so if Brax comes out and lets his nuts hang in the spring as a senior he should lock up the starting job.

Jones might end up being the most likely to move especially if he leads tOSU to a chip, he's not going to want to go back to 3rd string

also, considering that OSU has just about every grad program in existence, that will throw a wrench in the possibility of transferring to X school of his choice. shit isn't that simple. also, let's just pretend he actually can transfer...he's going to learn a new system in 1 summer camp worth of practice? assuming his shoulder heals fully to begin with. it doesn't make a lot of sense from the perspective of either party. plus brax has kids...not so easy to just pack up and move.

i think the most likely to transfer would be cardale. especially with the recruits we have coming in.

as for brax vs JT...seniority means nothing at this point. JT has accomplished things that Brax simply cannot nor ever has.

He only has one kid doesn't he? And I'm pretty sure he's probably not changing diapers now, he has a pretty strong family support system, that kid will be fine if daddy goes down south or out west for a season to secure a financial future for the family, lol.

>i think the most likely to transfer would be cardale.

yeah plus I can't see him wanting to go back to 3rd string after leading the Buckeyes to the title game.

>as for brax vs JT...seniority means nothing at this point. JT

If that's the prevailing sentiment in Buckeyeland the it might be a good idea for Braxton to move on. He's not going to want to come back just to back up Barrett.

He learned a new system in 1 summer coming off 2 shoulder surgeries?

If Brax wants to head elsewhere his best opportunity might be as UDFA.

I think Urban's system has shown that more than 1 qb is needed. Sticking around might not be the worst system ever.

i think he has 2 kids. I can't speak for his desires nor his family situation, just going by shit I've heard about his desire to stay in C-bus. Again, it's not quite as simple as packing a bag and choosing your school. The school you transfer to needs to offer a grad program that your current school does not offer.

Cam didn't have the surgeries but he did learn a new system in one summer and had one of the greatest individual seasons in CFB history, Russell Wilson did pretty well when he transferred to Wisconsin too. It might be difficult but its not unprecedented.

I think this is the selfish emotional OSU fan in you talking. If he can go somewhere else and start and get drafted in 2016 its probably better than going the UDFA route.

That's a minor deal that can be worked out if wants to go. Most schools offer an option to create your own grad major. That would only be an issue if Meyer wanted to prevent him from leaving and I don't think he would do that because it would be a bad look. Its best to just thank Brax for all he's done for the university and wish him good look in his future endeavors. Demoting a senior that was a star and not allowing him to transfer wouldn't be a smart move IMO.

They weren't there for spring ball?

And the shoulder surgeries are kind've a big deal considering he previously blew it out throwing a 10 yard pass...not to mention his previous injury history. His health is a tremendous question mark...it's not like some team can rely on him coming in being the guy for 2015. It's a risk.

>I think this is the selfish emotional OSU fan in you talking.

LOL. dude, i don't really care what he does. I'm sure he will find the best situation out there for him. A lot of the rumors out there are BS and purely media driven.

>Demoting a senior that was a star and not allowing
>him to transfer wouldn't be a smart move IMO.

There's no way Urban would block a transfer and if he came back next year and didn't start that would not be considered a demotion. This isn't half the PR conundrum you're making it out to be. He might not start but if he's healthy enough I'm sure he'll play a significant role on the team.

Oregon offers several grad programs that that OSU doesn't have, you guys are going to have to find another angle...
http://gradschool.uoregon.edu/academic-programs
http://www.gradsch.osu.edu/graduate-programs-degrees.html

Braxton maybe staying at OSU but the whole "new school would have to offer a grad program we don't" argument doesn't fly, OSU doesn't have all of the same grad programs that every other school offers.

like this is some shit we're actively conjuring up for own personal benefit.

this isn't half as simple as Brax signing somewhere as a free agent or Urban 'releasing' him. there's also the issue of Brax not having taken a snap in 20 months and coming off 2 major shoulder surgeries. playing the 'what if' game is fun and all but at some point you have to take a look at reality if you're actually trying to have a serious conversation.

Still the guy started as a true freshmen, had a 24 game winning streak and was Big 10 player of the year 2 years in a row, if he's healthy the kid can play. He may not want to sit on the bench or change positions for his senior year.

OSU fans like you are sounding like jealous girlfriends saying you don't think he's good enough to start at QB for OSU but you don't want him to go anywhere else to play to QB and have a chance to succeed, lol.

still not going to be as easy as russell wilsons transfer, or a free agency.

ive been saying all along he deserves to be the starter if healthy, and that he's better than JT Barrett so I dont know what the hell you're talking about.

and conjuring up nonsensical shit in your head. none of the above was ever stated by myself or guru but keep trying to turn this into something that it isn't and throwing out implausible scenarios.

whether it's Urban never coming to OSU, OSU never winning shit with Urban, Urban leaving OSU for the NFL, Braxton playing against OSU in the NC...you're like a human tabloid. but even tabloids get it right at some point, though.

as far as the grad transfer rule goes...as far as I know that's a legit rule, if it isn't well I'm fine being wrong, I don't claim to be a NCAA rules expert...but since you clearly are maybe try doing some research on it and perhaps posting a link of the rules and educate us simpletons?

I'm not even predicting Brax goes to Oregon, I just said it would be crazy if he did and was on the other side in the NC game next year and you guys took it to heart, if he did transfer he'd probably end up at FSU or somewhere else, lol

Pete Thamel is an SI writer and extremely close to Urban Meyer.

He's as clued into the program as anyone else.

Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated on the Paul Finebaum shows said he's talked to people at OSU and they expect all 3 QB's to be back at OSU.

... said Braxton Miller shoulder injury was serious and understated to the point that he may not be able to throw a pass.

.... said he talked to Miller and he wants to play QB but there's a chance that his health may not let him.

...said the Miller situation with his health of his arm can go any direction at this time.

... said knowing Miller personality he doesn't have that personality to automatically take over somewhere else. Extreme introvert.

...said 2 different times that he's spoken to people on the Ohio State staff and they expect all 3 QB's back.

but u start twisting words, referring to people as 'jealous' blah blah blah and and shit gets stupid.

nobody said anything about braxton not being able to play qb at OSU, etc...you just take a narrative and run with it in order to mischaracterize.

panties in a bunch? OSU just won a NC, has 3 mega talented qb's currently on the roster and are favorites to repeat. I don't think anyone here is sweating this stuff but u.

I think they lose early in the year at MSU which means they can't trip up the rest of the way in order to make the playoffs.

then there's also the matter of them winning the first game in the playoffs...not so easy.

Oregon loses Marcus Mariota, Hroniss Grasu, Jake Fisher, Keanon Lowe, Tony Washington, Erick Dargan, Troy Hill and Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, Armstead and the other DL guy.

They wont even be in the preseason top 8.

USC winning the Pac 12 next year, or Stanford.

right. because Oregon's success against elite opponents has been so top notch, lol. if at any point you want to back up any of your predictions with cash you know where to find me.

hey, maybe Braxton will run for governor next year instead of playing QB at OSU...start a thread about it.
