nice way to start the season with a cupcake last night...
but this is going to be a fun season..
losing the Wears...Anderson...LaVine and Adams is big... but we have the potential to have a high scoring, athletic squad..
people were questioning whether Bryce was getting his chance because he's the coaches son..but the kid can shoot..... he was a super scorer in high school and he played very well last year.....
starting in the backcourt with Isaac Hamilton gives us really 2 point guards who can both score... Hamilton is a real baller...
Senior Norman Powell..ie po' man's westbrook is our Small Forward now really... defensively he's solid...he's projected by some to be a lottery pick.... we're going to need him to score at least 17 per this year..
Tony Parker now gets his chance to be our permanent starting Center....he's in shape..he's worked on his game..and expect big things from him this year...
then there is rookie Kevon Looney starting at PF for us... if we hadn't lost Jonah Bolden to ineligibility Looney would probably be at SF with Alford coming off the bench... but Looney is long.....a solid rebounder and has both inside and outside game...along with Hamilton we should have 2 of the better starting freshman in the country..
our only probably is depth in the backcourt.... Noah Allen is a SG/SF and is are only real back up guard who is expected to play..
we're not bringing a PG off the bench at all really...
I'm looking for big things from Wannah Bail this year...he's a finisher and a strong rebounder.... Thomas Welsh is a 7 foot McDonald's all American who has impressed so far....and Gyory Gylonggy is another 7 foot project..
All this ..and with Jonah Bolden remaining with the program with an eye on coming back next year..along with commits from Prince Ali and Aaron Holiday....
Steve Alford is picking up where Ben Howland left of ...putting ballers in the NBA and building a program headed to the final four...

isaac hamilton's 3 poitn shooting has been a great surprise. tony parker really put in the work this offseason and looks way quicker on his feet on D. in fact every returning player has stepped it up so far. powell looks ready to take on that leading scorer role. kevon looney is a beast
hopefully we see less of the big defensive lapses and lazy passes as the season goes on

forget the excuses, we did lose players to the draft and our squad is paper thin, but we still have talent on this squad, enough to not lose by 30 to every good team we face
