Was that Lebron was trying to control his breaths in the pre-game to settle himself down.

Not sure how that constitutes to praising or sucking off someone.

You've never been nervous before and tried to settle yourself with deep breaths?

In response to Reply # 41

The context was Reggie saying that Bron was nervous and then Charles commented that he knew Lebron was nervous because he was taking long breaths, indicating he was nervous. How exactly is that praise?

And of course you've never had another person on national TV talk about it. Are you on national tv in nerve inducing situations with other people paid to talk about you?

And naturally so.

Excellent run by the Knicks to finish that half though...don't expect them to hang around once Bron gets going but they are competing for sure.

Most teams look like shit defensively compared to Thibs. Thibs makes the last dude on the bench earn that check on the defensive end.

It'll take a bit of time to gel, but once they do - Cavs offensive firepower

out of the gate

seems like everyone outside of chicago forgot that this current roster hasn't played together in two years.

a new/different rose.

no deng.

two rookies who will be asked to contribute.

a new starting power forward.

a starting two guard who hasn't really played along side his starting point guard.

the bulls are a work in progress as well.

There has to be something quantifiable with that right? I mean they're pretty cool but are they really that helpful on the bottom line? It's an honest question but I can't see good defensive teams giving that up all that often.

But 1v1 is hardly a representation of actual organized basketball, therefore I don't see how that would apply if you're trying to determine sport IQ.

w/the Heat in 2011

He played well (31pts) but Wade/Bosh struggled...still lost

tonight he's struggling but Kyrie and Love have looked comfortable playing together for the most part. Which is why I think this team will gel quicker than Bron/Wade/Bosh

and the fact the Melo missed the playoffs for the first time for himself last year, it's remarkable how he handcuffed himself to the Knicks for what'll be his closing window of his prime years. Given how much money he has on his contract, it's hard to imagine he'll get traded off the team if the Knicks continue to stink and he wants to push the eject button on the In Phil We Trust project.

**edit**

And something else I wonder is how long of a leash Phil Jackson will give Derek Fisher. He's a first year head coach and the roster is trash, but NYC is generally short tempered with losing, so it'll be interesting to see how objective Phil will be with Fisher. And then there's the possibility of Dolan meddling with Phil if Fisher stinks this year, although Phil was supposedly given free reigns in terms of basketball decisions.

the main reason why the Cavs lost tonight, so that's not a team chemistry problem, but an aberration for Lebron...because I thought there was some good to take away from this game as far as Kyrie and Love and the role players were concerned

Lebron might just go ham on the Bulls tomorrow and lead the Cavs to a victory

And on the low, I think with this game Melo surpassed the 20,000 points scored career mark. Too bad those haters Reggie, Barkley and Marv were too busy salivating over LeBron too notice.

http://bkknicksfan.tumblr.com/post/101390028044/great-game-melo-vintage-knicks-get-blown-out-by\

Great game Melo. Vintage Knicks. Get blown out by the Bulls on opening night, shoot over 60% in 3 quarters the next night and ruin Bron Bron’s homecoming. If things go how they usually do, they should go 3-0 over the next few games and then get blown out by the Nets next Friday. Lets go Knicks.

I remember laughing so hard at that whole sequence. From Shaq just mashing on him, to the completely unnecessary shove, to Dudley spazzing and throwing the ball, to the ball actually hitting Shaq, and Dudley yelling "fuck you" when Shaq turned around. So great.

had that in the salvo from months past and waiting for the right time to use it or if it was off the cuff.

These boards for better or worse will be interesting with all the infighting from the various LeBron/Cavs "fans". I do feel somewhat sorry for the legit Cavs fans, but only a little since my Knicks are a complete wreck right now.

thought process was...

"vex boxing articles be long as hell for no reason...like war and peace or some shyt"

"who else write long ass stuff that OKP bammas pretend to read, but never do?"

"fake ass tolstoy"

"meathead tolstoy"

vex boxing pieces could be wonderful. i dunno. i never get through them, just like i've never gotten through war and peace after multiple tries. maybe i'll read both once before i die.

in fairness to vex, i was mad last night and it just came to a head. i already been aggy that i had to suffer for 3 years as a cav fan, supporting my dogg, and vex just come outta nowhere doing the posting equivalent of kid n' play dances, like this shyt a game. me and doc and others been DYING on this board because of this team, taking heavy fire and he talmbout some damn "Kang gon do this and Kang gon do that...Kang da bess, mayne...he did it"

well, Kang sharted on himself last night, and, right or wrong, i believe that this post was responsible. i saw it coming.

against the Knicks probably makes the loss hurt more, but it's the first game out of an 82 game season. It's not that big a deal in the long run outside of all the anticipation and hype the situation was given.

I've suffered as a Knicks fan for years now, and I'm fully aware this Cavs team is better than the current Knicks roster. Outside of proving Fisher is somewhat competent as a head coach, I didn't take too much from last night's W.

back leading their team for the foreseeable future.

It's a thing of absolute beauty to behold.

and I never applied for any membership w/ the Heat fan club.

It just so happens that i spend a lot of time in Miami so i am endeared to that region. Not the case for THE LAND

>1 a Lebron stan who posts like Lebron fans are some rare breed
>instead of 75% of the basketball viewing public

But let's not revise history and act like this was the case when Bron went to Miami. He was the most hated player in pro sports for years (which is one of the reasons why it was so much fun to cheer for him).

So sure - right today, everyone wants to celebrate his Cleveland Renaissance and act like they weren't part of the full retard train of hate just a few years ago.

When the big 3 formed I said don't overthink it..its LEbron, Wade, Bosh. Most people felt similarly.

Doesn't mean we were rooting for them or sucking him off like you.

that's not what's in question here. The claim was that

not the case in Miami (particularly 2010-2012).

but in 2011 when Bron was getting boo'd in virtually every arena? Not even close to 75% of the viewing public were fans of his.

But yes - now he's universally beloved once again (as he was prior to going to Miami - even moreso now).

Let's just not revise history, that's all.

People who hated him, really fucking hated him

But you're not Mayweather if at least as many don't
really really really really love you

So the "nobody liked him narrative" isn't quite true

but you're saying 75% of the viewing public were Lebron fans directly after The Decision? The stats will prove that's incorrect, as his jersey sales abruptly saw a decline and outside of Miami, he was met with bitter disdain for months.

That changed after he won his first title (winning usually does change things) - but prior to that, the basketball world at large was *loving* watching Bron unravel in the Dallas Finals.

The Mayweather analogy is fairly apt, but I reckon if you queried 100 (real) boxing fans, I don't know that the vast majority of them (75%) would say they are a 'fan' of Mayweather. In fact, I'd bet that the number would be significantly lower than 75%.

Again, respecting his craft and being a fan of his are very different things.

In response to Reply # 226

that came in LeBron's way that first season in Miami was partially his fault though. That "not one, not two, not three, not four..." press conference combined with The Decision was not a good look. The key-keying and jokes that came his way after the Dallas series was a bit much, but given the way the Big Three formed, the regular season hate all three shared from opposing fans was to be expected and given the fact LeBron was the best out of the three, I think it was fair he got the brunt of that disdain given the heightened expectations he placed on the team.

Whether or not Bron brought some of that hate on himself
is a different question (and i'd agree that he did contribute
to it somewhat w/ his own immaturity at the time).

but here, We're simply assessing whether it's
true that 75% of the viewing public were Lebron fans when
he first got to Miami. That was the claim - and it's a revisionist
historical claim.

That is a fact.

Biggest sporting event ever (c) everyone

Carmelo hits the game sealer right in Lebron's face,
with a sick step back, fall away from basically behind
the basket.

That's cold blooded

This might be an outstanding maker of mad and an auto
agenda W

If Lebron wins, we can say Carmelo embarrassing him
taught Lebron that it won't be easy, made him work
on how to be good at offense

If Lebron loses, he loses, and has as many rings as
Carmelo when not playing with other hall of famers

Goddamn
