And it ain't getting any better no time soon.
They used 35 different starting line ups last season but there's really
no need for that to be the case this season.
Before Randle went down the starting line up should been
Clarkson, Bean, Swaggy(when healthy)Randle and Hill, Henry as sixth man, now
It's Davis instead of Randle
Still a shitty squad with zero depth
See what the new guys do from jump

Might not make the playoffs but they'll be better than most of us thought.

they have a lot of talent but the issue is going to be consistency. i don't know about y'all but i'm *most* sure jabari is not going to fuck up out of the rest of the roster and the coach. when you're counting on a rookie as a stable element, that's not a good sign.

giannas and kid's attitude might be good for bk though. light a fire.

how different Shabazz and Anthony Bennett look. They spent the offseason in LA being tortured by some reclusive old Italian, and they look like completely different humans.

he seemed like he was trying harder but maybe there's something i didn't hear about. i assume they were just like "fuck it, cap flexibility lol and a pick"

but this can't be good for their learning how to be a basketball team. they got a replacement plan?

cause they basically have 2 centers that aren't up to nba speed yet, an embiid someday, and a bunch of wings right now, right?

His 3rd seaon in the NBA and all he had going for him was he was trying harder. LOL Would rather they give any minutes he would've played to a young player 10 dayer.

This could be a really long season for the Nets....

...but I have faith that we have a top 5 coach in Lionel and that once he learns the players limitations and has his system in place the Nets will role to a 4th seed in the play-offs.

KG is not a starter and can not play starter minutes. Use him to fire up the team and play him effectively.

Given our GM is Billy King I wouldn't be surprised to see a mega trade happen this season.

Plumlee is a great presence under the basket but needs to stay out of foul trouble

I am looking forward to seeing what Lionel Hollins will do as a no-nonsense vet coach

Monster first half for Russell; Lillard couldn't compete.

Unfortunately, the game is still 48 minutes long. Second half adjustments and fatigue caught up. No question Russy was giving Dame all he could handle ... just couldn't do it like that for 48 minutes, Portland's depth crushed in the 4th quarter.

Not one overall strength that I can see, zero identity. Hopefully Swaggy doesn't come back and fuck up our draft pick like he did last season.

Bruh... we (the Sixers) started Chris Johnson last night at SG. Our first wave off the bench was JaKarr Sampson, Malcom Thomas, and Brandon Davies.

for the quality, lack of growth, and lack of motivation (notice kobe was nowhere on that gm poll of future coaches after all that hoopla 2 years ago) of the squad around him.

so yeah it's on him.

these are well established facts.

kobe is going to play too many minutes and score sometimes until he is broken again. the results without kobe will be exactly the same. right now anything he does is empty. hollow.

literally all he can do is hold this team back.

it's not in him to help. he would have done it by now.

149. "This shit isnt on Kobe"
In response to Reply # 126

the play isnt. You can cite the salary but thats a different conversation.

Through 2 games, Kobe is the only one trying.
Is the offense stagnant? yes.
But a lot of that is the play sets.

If I were Kobe right now I wouldnt pass to anyone else either. These guys look inept and scared.

He's really trying to take on a mentorship role with these guys. You saw it all offseason and preseason. You saw it with how he dealt with Julius after the injury.

You saw it last night when he told Jeremy to stop being a pussy and run the fuckin offense - and not just defer to him. When was the last time Kobe publicly told a player to not defer to him?

He knows that for this team to be Better (not good) it cant be on him, and he's trying to make that happen. But so far everybody is incompetent or being a bitch.

Maybe its age, maybe he knows this teams limitations. He's telling Lin to take this shit by the balls, Jeremy just has to step up and do it.

They should've attacked anyone Dunleavy was guarding

Problem was on the other end though...Taj was pooping on plates and handing them to the Knicks frontline

I would even complain that the Bulls got to the line far too often, but even if that was even we would've lost by 18 instead of 24

he's a lot taller (a legit 6'10"), longer and more athletic than ppl realize. he's a vet who understands def fundamentals + positioning, and knows how to get tall, get wide, use his body, funnel his man toward the help, etc.

he also, like hinrich, is a very cerebral, intelligent player who understands how to run thibodeau's system and isn't going to make many mistakes on that end. he was very solid on melo last night. and most nights, w/ butler healthy, he'll be on the oppt's lesser offensive wing. he won't hurt chicago defensively the way some are predicting.

National TV (or local) = No League Pass access

It sucks when it comes to NBATV's fan night when the best game of the night gets pulled from LP because they decide to put it up on NBATV

complete non-factor to something . . . this team could contend for a lower playoff spot if they were in the East. Shit, this was the most we've got from the bench in a decade.

Finding a way to get it done. The team has a lot of versatility. They can win playing big ball or small ball.

Right now Ariza looks brilliant. Overall better defense, doesnt pass or play make as well as Chandler, but much more consistent as a spot up shooter which is what we need.

Like Tarik Black's energy. He wont put up numbers and he's no Omer, but the effort he gives out there makes him a pain in the ass for any big going against him.

Harden wasnt able to get to the line like he did vs LA but did a great job creating for his teamates, especially Ariza.

We need more consistency from the Tjones/DMo spot.

Papa is another great fit in our system. Ability to shoot and do just a little bit more to be dangerous.

Overall I think our defense looks better but its hard to tell vs the Lakers and Utah

Now Jeremy Lin on the other hand looks terrible. Where did the aggression go? The lakers offense in generally is terrible and stagnant. If theres nobody driving, guys post up and call for the ball even if theyre 20 ft from the basket. Poor passing angles, no ball movement, lots of challenged midrange shots.

If Jeremy Lin doesnt start to be more agressive theres going to be a lot more 20 pt losses.Right now hes just dribbling around then making bad passes at poor angles with nothing to attack the defense. Hopefully Kobe's lecture last night on the bench will light a fire under his ass. It aint getting any easier though. Cp3 and Steph next on the docket.

Lins the one being a pussy and not doing shit. Whens the last time you saw Kobe tell a player to just do his thing and take control. He's trying. He knows if its just him there's gonna be a lot of 30 pt blowout losses. If Lin plays like he can theyll at least be competitive.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0jjFpHgoFA
Itd help if the offense wasnt so stagnant and someone would set a pick, but like you says Lin just has to black out and go dumb. He cant worry about not turning the ball over with this team because the alternative is Carlos Boozer turning the ball over 8 times.

the blame when it comes down..... lin knows how to run a fkn offense..you know that...

making other players better isnt "telling" them to run the offense...

stop trying to defend kobe when he has all the rings and shit and nobosy else on the roster has shit...he supposed to be the LEADER...

never thought d see the day when you defend kobe over lin..

You yell at your teamates, LABEATHUSTLA gets mad and says youre a bad teamate.

You encourage your teamates and talk to them, LABEATHUSTLA says youre not being a leader.

What other options are there besides walking off the court or taking over the head coaching job mid season?

Some of these guys are like little girls, whenever something doesn't fit into their little basic scope, they create assumptions and hypocritical statements. It's pretty self-evident, this is just another example.

Even you cant spin this as Kobe not encouraging a teamate

http://www.insidesocal.com/lakers/2014/10/30/lakers-kobe-bryant-byron-scott-push-for-jeremy-lin-to-play-more-aggressive/

“He’s used having to look over his shoulder all the time and playing with players who like controlling the ball a lot,” said Bryant, an obvious reference to New York’s Carmelo Anthony and Houston’s James Harden. “I told him that’s a big urban legend of me. I want to score. That means coming off of picks, catching and shooting. You handle the ball and you run the show.”

“I have to do what I have to do sometimes if things aren’t working,” Bryant said. “I have to manufacture . But I’d much rather have him run the show. That’s what he’s good at doing. He’s good at getting into the lane and running it for other people. It’s a matter of him pulling the bull by the horns.”

“The goal is for me to find a way to facilitate and complement him,” Lin said, “while bringing what I can bring to the table.”

And in Bryant’s mind, he hopes that entails Lin not playing as he is walking on eggshells to appease his demanding teammate. Bryant then invoked Lakers guard Derek Fisher, mentioning how he never became afraid in standing up to him. He largely credited that dynamic in ensuring five NBA championships.

“We used to bicker and snipe at each other all the time and I couldn’t love a teammate more,” Bryant said. “These guys are young and it takes time to understand that. Teams become great by challenging each other. I want him to orchestrate the offense, call the right plays and get the ball in the right spots. It might take a little bit getting used to for him.”

out by a bigger margin *at home* since the Bulls blew them out by 24 in NY?

Just one game but the Knicks stink...and Willis, Clyde, Earl, Bradley, Barnett, and Debusschere ain't walking through that door lol

In order to not look like a ball hog, the antithesis of how the triangle is executed, Melo was being unselfish too a fault but again, it is one game...and eventually he'll get more than his fair share of shot attempts
