no horse in this race. Kinda glad after this abysmal season. All these will be blacked out on MLS Live so idk how much i'm gonna watch. Most of the teams are contenders and in form so who knows who comes out. Gonna go ahead and lock in NE in the east barring injury. They were 1-1-0 against DC before Jones was signed, so we haven't really seen what they can do against them, but i think they'll have a pretty convincing win to get them to the Final. Columbus is the wild card there tho.
We got a Seattle v LA preview in a matchup that pretty much looked like it was gonna favor the Sounders after their first goal in the first match of the home/away, but this is the Playoffs. RSL hasn't really impressed against either of these teams this season, but again, this is the Playoffs.

also, we have Stephen Frei who is the worst GK in the league (i don't care what any stats have to say about it because it's only proof that stats don't tell the whole story).
8. "with the Valeri injury news, kinda relieved we're watching at home" In response to Reply # 2
even if we DID beat Dallas without Valeri, it would then just set up for a revenge series for Seattle. I don't want any excuses going in the next time we face them in the 'offs.
I was tired of seeing 1-0 Vancouver wins at the end of the year. I'd much rather watch Mauro and Fabian than that blonde dude with anger issues in Vancouver for two more games.

I think it's funny how many people are excited about that, like it gives it some kind of extra "legitimacy" that he's involved. I mean, I see how the added star power is relevant, but he won't really be a part of the league for a while and anyone watching closely should have seen the growth signs long before this. Maybe this will help some stodgy, ink-stained idiots at WaPo or some sort of Picayune or Observer finally realize this isn't a fly by night operation anymore, but as a US Soccer fan I'm just happy to welcome Earv to the party already ongoing.

I doubt it moves the needle on a national/league level, but the guy is Los Angeles royalty and his name attached to the team will make a lot of the logistical stuff (sponsors, stadium, etc.) in the city push through smoother.

not that Sporting KC or DC United was easy by any means but the Revoulution will be tough. we're going to have to defend very well against that offense. they're kinda on fire right now.
I am taking this opportunity to announce that unfortunately Saturday was my last game for the New York Red Bulls. The decision has always been that I would leave after the duration of my contract and although that was never going to change, I didn't want it to distract from the progress of the team.
I have immensely enjoyed my four and half years here and would like to thank everyone involved with this club who has made my time here so enjoyable.
Thanks must go particularly to Erik Soler, Hans Backe, Gerard Houllier, Andy Roxburgh, Mike Petke, all my team mates, the technical staff, medical staff, all the personnel who work for the Red Bull organisation, the MLS and of course the owner Mr Mateschitz whose vision and passion brought me to this wonderful city.
A special mention must go to the Red Bull fans who have supported this team through the good, the bad and the ugly times in the sun, rain and snow. You guys have really meant a lot to me and thank you for all your wonderful support.
I will now take the next few weeks to reflect and decide on the next chapter of my career.
Thank you all
Thierry Henry
