I'm surprised there aren't more of these stories. But it was because he wanted to win that much. While it might not endure him to a lot of people on a personal level...can't argue with the results.
also lets not forget MJ knew how to play the media game just as good as the actual game he knew how to get the writers/reporter types on his side
he couldn't have got that now but he made em all feel like they were his homies i think feel said something to the effect he was kind of a "con man" in that respect
shit was just different then
i mean this cat boycotted sports illustrated for like damn near a decade and i don't recall them having any kind of kill piece on him
imagine if someone tried something like that now??
but yeah you know its all kinds of stories out there
