Vikings are going to have their hands full with the Rams front four. If Kalil isn't back to form, Cassel's not going to see October. Hopefully we can get some pressure on Shaun Hill, because the secondary's bad enough to make him look like Kurt Warner out there.
But the receiving corps is better, All Day's in the backfield and the D is only going to improve. SKOL!

LB core is pretty good. I was concerned about the defensive backs (minus TJ Mac who is a fucking stud), the O-line and their ability to score. O-line is gonna get two quarterbacks hurt in the same game. Vikes are getting there with 4 on nearly every play. You're right, aside from a couple of gaffs, LIVE TIGER Ej Gaines is doing a good job.

I know he was never going to be the LT this season with Long, but wasn't he supposed to start the year at LG? Did he have a bad preseason or something?

i thought the Purple Defense would look better right out of the gate, but in this game after showing some initial first game-gitter lapses, they quickly tightened up and started exceeding my expectations...very nice showing there.
Sure handed reliable Jennings got us out of a whole and saved our asses several times. and young 84 is JUST getting warmed up too ya'll...no doubt about that. The passing game will only get better this year...and once that happens, All Day is gonna reap the benefits....
coming into this game i was asked how i thought the Vikes would do this year, and considering most of the 'official' published professional analysis has the Vikes finishing at the bottom of their Division, my honest answer was...
"i think we'll be MUCH better than folks expect. I think we're gonna be real 'scrappy, and frisky' on D and because of that we're gonna beat some folks that many folks think we shouldn't. and I definitely DONT think we'll be at the bottom of our division like most folks think we will...and yes, if we are scrappy enough, and frisky enough...who knows...the post season is NOT completely out of the realm of possibilities for my boys in some way shape or form..."

and yeah...maybe so for the last part. But after seeing Game 1 though....i stand by the essence of my take... That Defense is looking like something to love watching every week... lets see if we can stay healthy, stay consistent and keep improving...if so, we'll surprise some folks....and then anything is possible,,,
It's nice to see our defense give different looks as oppose to last year's cover 2 stuff. And man, it's great to see Harrison Smith out there!
Quick question for those who pay attention to the little things... How did Kalil fare against Quinn? He had such a down year last year and I wonder if he's back to his rookie form.
