"Michael Sam sacked Manziel and did the money sign thing"

https://vine.co/v/MLQU0pwAn6W

not sure he'll make the team.. Ethan Westbrooks is a beast and we hella deep on the D-Line..

but can't help but pull for this kid...particularly taking it right to the manziel myth-ology like that...

oh yeah...Bradford hurt..hopefully not out for the year.... Johnson out...scaffold hurt...

we looked good tonight though...

....

We are all pulling for Michael Sam to make the team. It's one thing for Brian Okrapo or a seasoned vet on that Washington team to mock Manziel. It's another thing for a dude who might be cut before the next game to do it..

Unless he's been fucking up majorly on other plays. You draft a guy to be a pass rusher, he gets a bunch of sacks, and you cut him? That wouldn't make any sense regardless of depth. This dude can clearly play, bad combine be damned. Some people can just play football and others are workout warriors that suck at the game.

the other rookie hes been battling it out with has been outplaying him

he sacked johnny

and had a garbage sack at the end of the game on a broken play

he'll make the team

simply because who he is

no way they cut him

even if they keep him around on the practice squad

You'd have to be super fucking up on your non sack plays to not be doing your job. Has he been horrible on a bunch of plays(asking seriously because I only saw the Rams/Packers game)? Sacks are usually drive killers so you really have to fuck up big time in other aspects of the game to devalue your sacks.

and the rams just happened to be loaded at that position

the dude hes been battling(ethan westbrook) has absolutely been beasting this preseason

its not that Sam has been bad and fucking up

its others are just flat out better than him

you cant measure everything on sacks

he had more sacks than everybody his senior season and he wasnt even the best player on their line

Sam will make the practice squad

if not that than he will def make a practice squad on some other team

getting after the QB. Is he good in coverage...nah, but he could get better. Is he a great open field tackler...meh. Can he get after the QB? Fucking A!!! I watched every game of his college career and no, he wasn't the best defensive player. Koni is vastly superior in every way and is gonna be special with Carolina...but the bottom line is Mike is a football playing motherfucker...that, IMO, is why he's gonna make the team.

No other 2nd thru 6th round draftee (besides teddy B) is getting this kinda analysis, critique and leeway cut for them.

I dont think he should make the rams cause they are already deep in that position and another guy is already beasting Mike in the same position this pre-season.
I *do* think he should make another teams practice squad because he is at least that good.
He has a skillset that can be fine tuned into someones system

Stop making excuses for this dude

yall dudes stay jumping to conclusions. I bet none of yall watched more than a full game of Sam during college. Shit isn't that complicated. He can play football. Rushing the passer is not something everyone can do. Not sure where you saw ANY excuses at. I clearly said he's a specialist. He's not an all-around player at this point. But what he does...he does. He's not getting beasted, either. How many Rams pre-season games have you honestly seen? It's just like Warren said...dude has better NFL size than Sam and will be a more complete defensive player.

"No one should talk about the gay player unless he does well on the field!"

*after he does well on the field*

"Y'all are analyzing how he did on the field too much! You just like him cuz he's gay!"

People are bending over backwards to justify NOT giving credit to a late round pick who is making a splash in the preseason. If getting to the QB was that easy, everyone would do it. And he got multiple preseason sacks.

No one is saying dude should start. All they're saying is he's earned a spot with his play on the field. Which is EXACTLY what everyone who didn't like him said he needed to do. Now that he's done it? Let's move the goalposts once again.

But yall sayin cuz he got three sax in preseaz he should be on they roster.
Dont automatically work like that.
Do he mesh well with others in the lockerroom?
How many of us in offices work with BRILLIANT minds and GREAT workers but they are a drag on office atmosphere and folks cant wait for them to quit, get fired or die?

Ppl wanting Sam to succeed just cuz he going against the norm by being gay, not because he a badass footballer.

I like for Mo'Ne to succeed in baseball because she is better than 98percent of all other ppl on the field, not simply because she is a girl. If Mo'Ne was to be drafted in NFL, her skills would put her at a CLOWNEY or MANZIEL level. Like she absolutely shuts shit down!
Fuck her gender, she is RAZZING them dudes with her 70mph heat.
Sam dont be beasting like that.

all the other shit, I'm sure Jeff Fisher has a handle on. Funny thing is you're the only one bringing up his preference in here. I been a Mizzou fan and a Sam fan BEFORE he came out. So I don't want him to make shit cuz he's gay...I want him to make it because I think he's a good football player and I like him. If Jeremy Maclin came out tomorrow, he'd still be my favorite player ever from Mizzou...not cuz he's fuckin gay, but because he's a good player and dude and I've been following him since high school. All that Mo'ne shit is rambling and has nothing to do with what we are talking about.

but a group of his NFL peers,
he scraping the bottom of the barrel
how many times in this very post have ppl said he is "meh"
"meh" only gets you on a roster in pro sports if you're "connected"
like tony gwynn jr securing spots and he steadily flounders
or how bout half of the bobcats squad was doo-doo but somehow was linked to the execs of the team

This is a veteran's league. You have to start somewhere and it appears he is having a pretty good start. Commendable given all the scrutiny he is under.

what we care about is all the hoopla around it
and him being propped up because of it
let the chips fall where the may
why would st louis draft this dude if they were already overcrowded at his position?

thats not a moce GM generally make
thats like the broncos of 49ers drafting a D3 QB
for what exactly?

again, if he was on the cowboys or jags roster or even bills then maybe he would make it
but i cant see st louis keeping him unless out of pure pity

he just dont fit for THAT team
nobody aint saying he aint fit for ANY team
just not the RAMS

unfortunately he wouldnt make the Texans either

and i dont recall him being on special teams so...

stop it with the whole "overcrowded" shit. Yes, defense is an area of strength...but you can never have too many people who can legit rush a QB. Plus, if you know anything about Jeff Fisher...this is what he does. He stockpiles defensive pieces. In addition, INJURIES happen. Sam Bradford, lost for the season last night. Trumaine Johnson...arguably the Rams' best corner, sprained his MCL last night...out for 6 weeks. That could have easily been Robert Quinn, or Chris Long.

never mind san francisco keeps drafting an rb every year cause DUDES GET HURT.

never mind if STL cuts him (and by all means, ain't no one on oks going to disagree if he gets cut for football reasons with their depth) fans of a team like the cowboys are going to be clamoring for him to get a roster spot.

fuck out of here with common sense. let's keep making posts and talking about michael sam cause it's really annoying when people talk about michael sam. dude's trolling himself.

we're going to go from homosexuality being a mental illness to feeling sorry for people being afflicted with homophobia within a couple generations. it's amazing.

People always say, "why are we talking about this guy? he doesn't deserve to be talked about!"

Then... don't talk about him.

There are plenty of posts all around OKP that I simply ignore because they aren't worth talking about. If dude honestly felt Sam isn't worth talking about, he'd leave the post and never look back.

the whole point is pre-season is ALL he has to go on. That's how mofos make teams. They show what they can do in the PRE-SEASON!!! He can't go into the future and get regular season sacks.

but I was more responding to the smh of Bradford...as if he did something wrong to get hurt. Maybe I misunderstood. But no...I'm not actually a Ram's fan...I just pay a lot of attention to them. I like a few of the players and am a HUGE Bradford fan. They are not close, IMO. O-line is not great...no real #1 WR and secondary super questionable. I really cant see them doing better than 8-8 and that was WITH Bradford. In the Shaun Hill era...who knows.

they don't like Black people flaunting that "Black" swag because it offends the sensibilities of crusty old dudes who think they're "cooning"

now if you think a dude is gonna go out there and flaunt black AND gay swag up there in the face of that colonialist regime and not get some kind of "rule" made up for him afterward? sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit.

I would laugh my ass off though if he even entertained dat 'mophobia though
