"Steve Nash describing Kobe in 3 words: "Mother. Fucking. Asshole.""

Kobe, obviously, loved it.

It's a shame we didn't get these two together, like, four or five years earlier. Between their play and their sheer number of quotables, it would've been magic entertainment.

Steve Nash Gave An Incredibly Vulgar Answer When Asked To Describe Kobe Bryant In 3 Words, And Kobe Loved It
Business Insider
Tony Manfred 20 hours ago

Chris Ballard of Sports Illustrated wrote a cover story on Kobe Bryant this week, and it's full of fantastic Kobe stories.

In one of the best anecdotes, the director of Kobe's upcoming Showtime documentary, Gotham Chopra, asked a bunch of teammates to describe Kobe in three words.

Steve Nash had the best answer. From SI:

"After each interview Kobe would text Chopra, eager to hear what people said. Most answered with some variation of 'the ultimate competitor' or 'killer instinct.' But when Chopra asked Steve Nash, he said something different. After thinking for a moment, Nash answered, slowly, in three beats: 'Mother ... f****** ... a******.'

"Kobe thought this was awesome."

Tremendous.

Kobe is one of the most competitive athletes we've ever seen. He's also from an era when players, for better or worse, maintained the illusion that they were sworn enemies hell-bent on beating each other at all costs. For Kobe, that competitiveness was often channeled against his own teammates. He got into feuds of varying severity with Shaquille O'Neal, Dwight Howard, and even poor Smush Parker.

Some guys, like Nash, get Kobe. Others don't. Kobe doesn't care either way.

Kobe is an "asshole" mainly because it's widely known his idol, MJ, was a notorious dickhead to his teammates and we all know Kobe over the years has not only patterned his game after Jordan, but he has adopted every mannerism of MJ as well...so this is just another thing that ppl will say how much he and MJ are alike.

I don't doubt that he he is a "motherfuckin asshole" but a lot of things he does comes across as more affectation than authenticity...

And let me say this: There are far more players in NBA annals who have won championships who were known to be great teammates than there are players who are/were assholes to their teammates...

Precisely why I say Duncan has had a better career than Kobe even though Duncan is the exact opposite as a player/person...

He is who he is, and my agenda is complete.

Who he is an all-time great, top 10 player
ever to play the game. While Magic will
always be the sentimental favorite as greatest
Laker ever, raw data might suggest that this title
belongs to Kobe. Will be debatable for decades to come.

What's no longer debatable (for most) is the question
of who is the better player, in an all-time context:
Kang or Mamba. Bron now owns that heavily heated debate.

And thus I have no more reason to rag on Kobe, other than
to troll on some "I told you so" when Kobestan clowned
Lebron waaaay harder than Bronswana clowns Kobe. So naturally,
balance must be restored to the Force.

It is now restored.

You either have short-term memory or weren't here for everything in the past if you think that's true. The number of times the field goals have been moved on Kobe is comedy itself, he got hated on hard even after dude won more rings than most of the franchises that the cats on here root for, and dudes are still pressed to hate him when he's 36 and coming off two leg injuries on a subpar team. The Bron stuff was certainly silly but the Kobe nonsense is definitely worse.

I'm talking about in general from fans across
the country. But it's kinda silly to get in a
'whose star was hated on more' contest. They both
get irrational hate - that we can agree on.

Whether out of necessity or a self-realization to push him forward....

He is secure in who he is.

He should have been one of those guys who was a complete fuck up of a career, he's going down securely as one of the GOAT.
