"Buy a cheap QB stock here"

This gonna work a little bit different than normal. I assume that there are no IPOs here. Y'll need to work out how much stock the majority owners are willing to sell.

This is just, are you looking around and listening to these pundits talking bad about some dudes and saying to yourself, "damn, that's harsh, I think this dude is going to be ok?" I am, and it's time for all of us to get on record.

Also, keep guys who are universally hailed as okay but you think are better out of my thread. for example, lots of eagles fans think nick foles is better than experts give him credit for. that's fine, but the experts at least all agree that he's not sorry. this is just a post for dudes considered sorry that you think aren't and are willing to go to bat.

Examples in my first two replies

Dudes making it out like he was awful last year. He might have been inconsistent, but I personally watched some games where he put up yards and made plays. I think, in his second year, he becomes a very serviceable, average QB, with the potential to get even better in the years to come.

the biggest thing is going to be if he learns from his mistakes.

his rookie year reminded me a lot of Sanchez. Showed promise, got carried by the defense. Had some moments that made you think "holy shit, the Jets FINALLY have a good young quarterback!" Had some other moments that made you think "how did this guy make an NFL roster?"

With Sanchez, he was still making the same rookie mistakes in years 2-4 that he made in year 1. He never learned or adjusted, and as teams did more to plan to get him to make those rookie mistakes, the great plays became fewer and farther between.

If Geno can learn from his mistakes, he'll be okay. We don't need him to be Tom Brady.

Again, I watched this dude be not sorry at least a couple times in his rookie season, and I hear talk like he's already a bust from places like Football Outsiders. If EJ stays healthy, I think he makes good progress this year. I think he still has a bit more to learn than Geno, so he might only be like a top 20 QB, but he's not going to be sorry, and he's got more upside to grow into over the next few years than Geno.

I like the Jets, but there were numerous elements of that offense that were problematic when he was there.

either his work effort has gone back up after the humiliation of buttfumbling or that truly was a toxic situation but I think he is going to have an OK second act. even if he holds a clipboard for most of it.

his shoulder looking healthy, the bad juju/pressure off, in a situation with a great running game/o-line/tight-ends and a great scheme predicated on getting the ball out quickly run at two-minute pace?

That's all in Sancito's wheelhouse.

Foles could go down for the year and it wouldn't mean more than a one-win difference for the Eagles.

All it's gonna take is one knock to EJ Manuel, then we'll get to see King THAD chuck it to Sammy several times a game.

I still think the Browns should have kept him on the roster. He only played like 2 games but he was a better option than anyone else. (Might have been pre-Hoyer)

Basa's Hostile Takeover Thing:

step 1: Cyse player so hard that you become the poster most associated with that player's performances in the minds of other posters. The Pledge.

step 2: Accept all the frying when the player's stock drops, thus giving you an incredible amount of leverage in future discussions of the player. The Turn.

step 3: Reap the rewards when the player finally realizes his potential and becomes a star (or a valuable contributor to a good team). The Prestige.

One, it felt awful to have stock in another NFC East QB.

More importantly, though, he's just too much of a bamma. He doesn't slide, he's going to get hurt trying to prove he's tough.

Classy Russy and Killa Cam are the blue chip black QB stocks to have.

but from everything I have seen he can be the best QB in the draft has a crazy RB and no expectation of success from media(pressure)

And with a name like Teddy Bridgewater that sounds like some european world 1 winning accomplished general.

Blake Bortles sounds like a pokemon but he is 6,6 stands tall in the pocket

Any rational football fan should think this. Problem is most fans let their fandom or agendas get in the way of any rational thought.

Henne is actually quite consistent...I don't see him doing better or worse than he ever has. Has any QB in history had so many 2 TD, 2 INT games? I haven't seen the numbers, but I doubt it.

*Buys 50,000 Aaron Murray dogecoins*

*Buys 100,000 TP dogecoins*

*Buys 75,000 Logan Thomas dogecoins*

We all know Teddy has the tangibles to lead so he doesn't need stock.

*Buys Landry Fields dogecoins in hopes of flipping them later on*

*Sells Manziel stock to finance all purchases*

Zach Mettenberger is taking someone's job next offseason. Ditto for Nick Fales even it's a camp arm. Tajh Boyd coming for that second string in 2016.

but he would have to usurp the Browns QB job if you cash in.

he might end up on another squad in need of a QB though

not sure the offensive line will be all that better, though.

Juwan James has been strong, as has Albert. The inside is shakier especially with Pouncey out for a few weeks, but overall it's still an improvement over last year.

I'd also like to pour any remaining funds i have into the Cam, Russell and Aaron Murray stock options.

Aaron Murray is too white and too much of a bro for some head coach to not give him a season/season and a half as QB#1 before putting him out to pasture in clipboard heaven.

QB but with the weapons he has around him he's gonna put up some YARDS! (c) and fill up the stat sheet - that type of stuff may not get us wins but it makes agenda comparisons with other QBs easier.

Those are over in aisle 6. I don't think I can share this potentially explosive mad-making opportunity with someone whose opening line is "I don't think he's a good QB."

66. "Im still happy Stafford is the Lions qb"
In response to Reply # 62

The problem was that without Calvin, there was no one outside to make plays. When the Lions went to the playoffs, Burleson had 73 catches. Titus Young was also good in the slot that year.

Kris Durham wasnt ever going to replicate that, and Broyles hadnt been healthy enough to replace Young. Durham, Kevin Ogletree, and Jeremy Ross are not an NFL group of receivers, and the Lions arent built to win games 17-14.

So i still have all my Stafford stock. The comebacks/GW drives keeps me optimistic.

Which will bring him to nearly 200 million without a playoff win.

In other words, that's a bad investment.
