it was a non-contact injury, apparently he was throwing an 8 yard out route and the shoulder tore. if it didn't happen today it was going to happen in week 3 or 5, etc. so at least we can prep JT now.

braxton has a world of talent...heisman talent...but he just can't put it all together. OSU fans have been overrating his NFL potential for quite some time now.

agreed on his nfl prospects, he's played his ass off in college, but I didn't really see it at the next level unless he made some magical leap in ability at reading defenses or throwing accuracy.

I feel awful for him. What a shitty start/end to your senior year.

what does he do now? redshirt and come back? heal up and go pro? where does he even project at the next level?

Good thing is, we have 2 decent backups, and easily the most talented team in the conference on offense, albeit raw & inexperienced.

Barrett and this guy http://247sports.com/Player/Torrance-Gibson-21466 means the future is pretty bright....

at least we'll never have to worry about a Bauserman on Urban's watch...

I wouldnt be surprised if we ran the table, but I wouldnt be surprised at 2 losses either (state pen and msu)

and medical redshirt / go pro whatever works for him.

has anyone said what it is? I mean, if he's out for the season off of non-contact, it does not sound good.

not sure who Ohio State has coming in behind him, but he's position-less in the NFL and could have a legendary return season.

The odds of him staying healthy throughout the season will be equally as poor. Maybe even worse with a twice operated on shoulder.

Depth should be better as of next year but really his only threat would be if Barrett seizes the opportunity and balls out.

Nor would that showcase him for the NFL.

Keep in mind brax wanted to bolt prior to starting his junior year. He may not be dealing in reality.

If he doesn't project to QB at the next level,
why not spend a year as a WR. Cribbs and Edelman
are two players that come to mind making that
switch in the NFL. Matt Jones too before he
got into nose candy.

thing is Brax *does* have skills that translate to the NFL level.

It's just my opinion that he physically can't handle it (despite having NFL size) and that he's behind the curve mentally. I almost think he'd be better off in a pro-style system where he can simply throw it or bail on the play and improvise with his legs.

But I'll defer to Will's superior judgement on NFL prospects.

UM fans can commiserate with Denard and his
nagging elbow/nerve issue and the shittiness of
never being able to see a special talent hit
its max potential. Who knows, maybe he can make
a full recovery.

It will definitely be interesting to see what
Urban and his offensive system can do with the
next guy up. When you expose your QB to that
many hits you absolutely have to have two guys
prepared.

he was suspended 3 games before the bowl game last year for failing a drug test (ecstacy again)...(claimed someone slipped him a magic bean in his drink at a party on campus last year)

was set to return to tmw

failed another piss test, and now ppl are saying his status on the team could very well be over as he and his parents figure out if he needs to enter a rehab program (smfh)

he's a natural pass rusher, and can stand up or play on the line when he needs to in the NFL.

Sounds like they are taking the taking the right approach

But then again they could be talking about his "medical problem" like this in order to play the PR game

Either way hope he gets where he wants to go

area athletes as of late. He came outta the same school that Shady McCoy and Ricky Watters went to (Bishop McDevitt). Was an absolute beast and showed up on both the tape and in workouts. Much like Zaayd Issah (PSU committ who just got kicked out of Temple) and others, he's a recent Harrisburg area kid who just can't get right no matter how many great opportunities and second chances you give em.

what's weird is that Meyer raved about his parents and upbringing etc. when he offered him a scholarship. Noah Spence was one of the very first guys to commit to Urban IIRC.

I can only imagine how his game would have flourished this season under Larry Johnson's tutelage.
