"Team USA legend Ky Ky admits flaws, while others pass blame"

http://m.basketball.realgm.com/article/234656/kyrie-irving-s-transformation-starts-with-admission-he-needs-lebron-cavs-new-vets

So powerful. No whining. No pretense. He say he gotta do better.

If he'd gotten cut wit a spoon from Team USA, he'd admit he got outplayed by better guards. Again.

was a wrap for CLE and 'Rie

http://board.okayplayer.com/okp.php?az=show_topic&forum=8&topic_id=2290076&mesg_id=2290076&listing_type=search

to spamming the board with 'Rie posts damn near everyday since the Kang returned to CLE

guess that family is raising itself and his projects have all been completed

It'd be different if his posts were sincere, or worthy of merit (i.e., were about CLE and Lebron, not trying to spin this into some, see I told ya, see, see how smart I am, after CLE gets Bron and others, etc...)

but all of this is overcompensation

because WE all watched 'Rie play CLE into the lottery

AGAIN

last year

while Ba was hiding, looking up clever avis and sigs.

i flat out admitted it and y'all created a COMPLETELY NEW NARRATIVE ABOUT WHY I LEFT, as if i didn't straight up tell y'all.

i was mad because i thought my dogg blew a wheel and i realized i needed to put some things in perspective.

i have.

i focused on stuff that matters IRL and now i'm back and i'm favring...just having some fun out here.

why you mad?

It's his team, he's emotional about it all.

The Wade's team shit was lulz from the peanut gallery, not from the Heat fans. I mean, there weren't any but you know what I mean.

there are plenty of hurt Cavs fans who still don't
want to hand the keys to the franchise over to Kang
*yet* -- they are still holding onto to their break-up
drama from 2010. That's fair, but they also know they're wrong.

It's Bron's team, period.

SeV did, and this isn't even his agenda.

Seems to me Cleveland is embracing Bron's return in a huge way and not being all, "OH WAIT ITS KYRIES TEAM OBVIOUSLY".

the vast majority. the day the announcement came out there were already signs of praise. there was a celebration in Public Square. there were previously shelved (not burned, contrary to popular belief) jerseys on kids AND adults back on display. there are "Forgiveness", "King Comes Home", etc. shirts nearly everywhere I have gone for sale in this area.

all the negative talk about LeBron on the forums I go to discuss the Cavs has mostly evaporated.

Celebrating the guy who was there during the dark ages is what I'm going to do as a -Cavaliers fan-.

because LeBronies eat all the world's shit.

Yet even with that (which made their numbers comparable-- after Kyrie struggled and Dion grew, they were comparable, so consider that for a moment), there isn't a soul in the world who would say Dion is a better spot-up shooter than Kyrie. It's you and Dion. That's it. Mama Waiters would say it's Kyrie.

48. "right. So it is Bron's team."
In response to Reply # 26

It's Bron's franchise, basically. And he's doing
a tremendous job of orchestrating the lineup.

>the vast majority. the day the announcement came out there
>were already signs of praise. there was a celebration in
>Public Square. there were previously shelved (not burned,
>contrary to popular belief) jerseys on kids AND adults back on
>display. there are "Forgiveness", "King Comes Home", etc.
>shirts nearly everywhere I have gone for sale in this area.

Exactly. Kang's team.

So the 'Kyrie's Team!' narrative - no matter how rare it might be -
is one of the most absurd agendas out there. And yes, there are some cleveland fans who still feel betrayed and are irrationally still mourning 2010. But of course the majority recognize the beauty in the overall design of Bron's career trajectory and couldn't be happier: He's a far better player/person now than he would've been if he never left Cleveland.

But let's not act like there wasn't a stubborn 'Wade's Team!' agenda that held onto to that narrative waaaay too long. There are still detractors who try to mitigate Bron's achievements - i.e. the 'he can't win w/ out bosh/wade and now he can't win w/ out kyrie/love!' peanut gallery. So naturally, they would further the 'kyrie's team!' agenda.

They're mad. They're wrong.

and you were wrong for saying it's Kyrie's team.

But i'm still in alliance w/ you because you bled, and now you will
bathe in the glory of Kang-led dynamism for at least a half-decade.

I already addressed that to Doc. There is a faction that
tries to diminish Lebron's achievements. Many of them claimed
he would never win as 'the man' - because he didn't have the alpha-male DNA. So they continually said 'Wade's the leader
of that team' - even after 2011 when it was clear that Wade
wasn't even the 2nd best player on the team anymore. So yes,
naturally some of that contingent would ferry over to irrationality
land and say 'kyrie's team! - Bron's gonna be second fiddle again!'

It's a very small ignorant clique - but they do exist.

how upset are you right now?

It's a really weird torch to carry, especially since this is such a small faction as you say. Weird they would even be on your radar to make sure you expose them.

I expect nothing less from such a weirdo though.

Keep on fighting that good fight.

yup. We've got at least a few more months of clowning
Kobestan in the midst of its rapid decline from power.

Why?

Because they were so determined, so ruthless, and so very wrong
in stating Lebron wouldn't a./ win multiple titles; and b./ would
never surpass Kobe.

He's already surpassed Kobe in terms of all time Greatness. The trophy math cometh.

well, there was a reason for that.

The Miami Heat won a title with Dwyane Wade as its marquee player. Yes there was some LeBron agenda attached to it. but when you thought about the Miami Heat in the mid '00s... you thought of Dwyane Wade.

Same way you thought about LeBron and the Cavs in the same period. Or Paul Pierce and the Celtics, etc.

after 2010? LeBron got most of the attention and brought a whole lot of fans to the Heat. But IMO the "Death Star" era of the Heat is identified not just by LeBron James, but by Wade and Bosh as well, much like the recent "Big 3" era of the Celtics.

As for the Kyrie agenda, it's about the following for me:

- all I wanted for Kyrie, who despite the slander, is a rare talent in the NBA, who plays for the franchise I root for, was a quality team. he now has the best help you can possibly ask for in today's NBA.

- making LeBronies mad.

that's it.

Basaglia and I agree on the first point, and we comprise a small sliver of people rooting for the Cavs who think that way. most are glad "Kang, Not Liu" is back.

Depending on how it pans out I have a feeling that whatever the Cavs team becomes, it won't be completely defined by LeBron alone, but rather a "Big 3" type look with Kyrie and Kevin Love. Again, LeBron will tbe attention vacuum, and that's fine.

I'm more interested in what our young, decorated guard will do once he's in a "play to win" scenario instead of a tanking one. and really, if Kevin Love is going to really become a better player in a similar circumstance.

I already know what LeBron James brings to the table. If his role evolves I'll be glad to see that.

no heart pg who found comfort in losing

and got mad when a player like dion was on some naw fuk this shyt

and declare him as its his team over a 2 time nba champ, 4X MVP, 2 finals MVP and face of the city even when he wasn't playing for them

even after kyrie done came out and said he aint a leader and needs bron to teach em how to be

ur punk ass tried to go bags and say its for mad making but naw

dude done basically came out MULTIPLE times and said he failed in the past and is looking to be guided by bron. dion said the same thing (first)
the players themselves realize what it is. their careers were transformed by savannah james wanting to be near her family. nothing wrong with that. kyrie's 22 and a known loser. it's shows a GREAT deal of maturity for him to humble himself and acknowledge where he stands in the team hierarchy
that's something these grown ass 40 yr old men on here can't even accept
so i respect kyrie for that

and you didn't say a word about it. that's what happened.

thru his first 3 years, kyrie has no playoffs and a WHOLE RACK OF SHIT (AS games, ROY, AS MVP, 3pt champ) that NEITHER of them dudes had.

now, that's the record. but, you'll sit there, concoct a BS reply about how it's my fault for cysing him and building it up and MAKING y'all react negatively, when in fact it was caused by Kyrie being WAY BETTER than a lotta y'all predicted and making me look good.

and now you gotta build it up like Lebron is "SAVING" his entire career.

um...what y'all will never be able to reconcile is this...Lebron came to Kyrie for his third act...Ky Ky ain't run to LeBron.

You've been #factualized.

No need to talk about Kyrie Irving as a known loser at 22 other than to be able to reference how great Bron's accomplishments are

So youre right...its totally needless.

But Bron is saving Kyrie's career in terms of
him being a winner.

It's interesting how Love gets shit on for being a 'loser
who never won shit' - yet Kyrie is placated around the
boards as the young krishna who will bring balance to the
Force....when he's led his team to the brink of disaster
in the basement of the eastern conference.

I'm glad we opened this whole "Kyrie's Team!" agenda up
for discussion so that the lunacy can be exposed at high noon.

me? I'm just happy because Kyrie + Love = waaaay better supporting
system than Wade + Bosh.

Ive never said any of that about Love

But there hasnt been a 21 year old All Star in history that needs his legacy as a winner saved by someone else.

Thats the kind of thing you say about someone like Clyde Drexler going to Houston at 32 years old. Not a guy 10 years younger who hasn't written his story yet.

Thats no less ridiculous than the position you oppose.

Because lebron had 2 years of not making the playoffs, and his rookie year teammates of Boozer and Ilgauskas were better than anything Irving has had to work with since he got there.

Shit, Chris Paul missed the playoffs in his 2nd year with David West, Tyson Chandler, and Peja. And he was a LOT more polished after 2 years at Wake competing against Ray Felton, Jarrett Jack, Will Bynum, and Chris Duhon.

So its just a ridiculous notion to call Irving anything but a very young, very good player. Its also kind of ridiculous that ive expressed that both to you and Basa to temper totally opposite agendas lol

i have had to defend quite possibly the most talented point guard in several generations against rabid, irrational hate because they made he not fat or slow or mo williams or eric snow or andre miller or mike conley jr or any of the condescending backhanded shit they threw at him in the months before the 2011 draft to about the second week of the 2011-12 nba season, when it became obvious he was special.

since then it's been a buncha goalpost-moving and hypocrisy. i'm supposed to acknowledge melo grown married with children ass ain't got no help (DPOY, 6th Man of the year, All-star PF...whatever tho), but 19, 20, 21 year-old kyrie supposed to carry OTHER 21-23 year-olds and a ricketty kneed brazilian to the playoffs.

i'm not being reasonable this season. kyrie gettin ALL the credit. he got all that blame, sooooo...

Kang.

He sludged through years of irrational hatred and
getting booed in every arena in the NBA simply for
not choosing to be chained to a franchise that showed
no competency in compiling a championship caliber team.

So guess who really gets all the credit, because he
actually deserves it?

ALL THE CREDIT.

me and doc are just saying we're gonna party on every idiot who has ever said kyrie isn't good at all, just average or not good enough. we've always contended that he's gonna be the best PG in the league and that the cavs have done a HORRIBLE job putting pieces around him.

whenever he's surrounded by other good players, kyrie irving stands out. period. bammas try to play it off, like..."oh them games don't matter tho"...meanwhile, bulls fans all over the internet giving champagne toasts whenever rose does something in a team USA practice, scrimmage or exhibition. however, if i point out the FACT that kyrie irving has been the best guard on that team from DAY ONE...oh, the games don't matter.

kyrie is getting some dogs to run with now. we happy. as i've said, i woulda been happy with jabari parker and a dion trade for greg monroe or something. but, we got BRON and LOVE. it went from being about the cavs getting to the playoffs this year and building a contender in the next 3 years to "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA kyrie competing for TITLES FOR THE REST OF HIS CAREER!!!"

this is about KYRIE, not Bron.

i don't expect you to understand this, because you are as myopic about basketball on this board as i am about boxing on this board and the level of respect for the other's respective opinion is given accordingly.

kang.

Where I have an issue is in the egregious downplaying
of Kang that you and Doc exhibit, as if he's just another
player coming to play with Ky Ky the God and he "can't
win without Kyrie." -- That's lunacy and you know it.

Bron is one of the top 3 to ever play the game and the
biggest name that will ever exist in Cleveland sports.
Admit it. Own it. Say it.

>me and doc are just saying we're gonna party on every idiot
>who has ever said kyrie isn't good at all, just average or not
>good enough. we've always contended that he's gonna be the
>best PG in the league and that the cavs have done a HORRIBLE
>job putting pieces around him.

Agreed. As soon as I saw how dynamic Kyrie can be 2 years
ago I always thought Kang would return. I've said Kyrie is
better than Wade - and he is. I foresaw the Cleveland Renaissance
before anyone did - you and Doc included.

>whenever he's surrounded by other good players, kyrie irving
>stands out. period. bammas try to play it off, like..."oh them
>games don't matter tho"...meanwhile, bulls fans all over the

>on that team from DAY ONE...oh, the games don't matter.

Also agreed. I wanted Kang to team up w/ Rose in 2010, and now
I want him to team up w/ Kyrie. Why? Because Bron + a premier
point guard = unstoppable. The league will find out.

>kyrie is getting some dogs to run with now. we happy.

See that's where it's absurd. K. Love and Ariza would be
"some dogs"

Bron is Alexander. Kyrie is running with Alexander now.

>this is about KYRIE, not Bron.
>
>i don't expect you to understand this, because you are as
>myopic about basketball on this board as i am about boxing on
>this board and the level of respect for the other's respective
>opinion is given accordingly.

That's fine - you can make it about Kyrie and act like Cleveland is his team and Bron came back because he knows he can't win without Kyrie - and the rest of the intelligent world can laugh at that notion.

And you don't know about boxing beyond Floyd. I've been a student of the NBA since the early 90's. Be mad.

I'm old, remember?

I was in youth boxing at Eastern Branch Boy's and Girls Club when you was still tryna figure out how to be as pretentious as possible.

And I played AAU and pickup with Johnny Rhodes, Mike Smith, Trouble Smith, Rome Roach etc.

I got my bonafides. I don't respect your opinion on EITHER sport, to be perfectly honest. But, I just go on and let you ride with your boxing "expertise."

Spend some time w/ your grandkids and log off fam.

And lol @ me caring whether or not you 'respect' my boxing
acumen. I consult with professionals and am a well respected
adviser to people who actually matter in the sport. I'm good,
GrandBa.

How upset are you right now?

so, i know a lot of OLD sports figures and old sports shit, while not being "old"

i was up in eliot rec at 6-7 years-old watching too sharp get barked at by pops while you was still figuring how learning integers would one day help you create a magically mathematical metaphysical persona that distracted folks from the fact that you just a regular ol' meathead type.

we all get there.

But if you really were 'training' in the gym like you
claim, we could easily resolve this by seeing who
knows more about boxing - by actually stepping in the
ring for a friendly sparring match.

I don't even care what weight-class you are either,
You're old so i'll give you a pass if you're +200.

as for metaphysics? stay in your land, grandba. We
can have discussions on basic elementary concepts like
sports. That's it. Let's keep it elementary.

and lemme tell you, a nigga who's actually smart can always peep a dude trying to be "smart."

good luck with ALL that, meta-man.

and I'd love to have "a math, science, and writing contests" with you.

Particularly when someone is challenging w/ that line of grammar.

I've slayed all kinds of puss in my lifetime from being on tour and being the head coach of women's tennis at Syracuse, and I'm sure it's no different for Ba.

1.) he's added some bulk to his frame. He didn't look like he ever did any weight training heretofore

2.) HIS DEFENSE HAS IMPROVED ...he looks like he can really be a very good on-the-ball defender

He won't have any problem adapting his game to Tha Kang

Boy, he and D Rose are going to go at it this upcoming season...look forward to their matchup more than any other pg matchup.

season I needed to see some improvement in area's of his game - like his defense, shot selection, creating shots for others

And so far he's looked like at least the *2nd* best pg for the US team because of the improvements I'm seeing in his game

Gotta admit he took a step back in the pg race, I even went so far as to say he isn't a franchise player. Gotta admit Wall and Lillard have move past him currently in the pg warz but we know these things are fluid so we'll see how "Ky Ky" bounces back this season playing alongside Da Kang
