23 it is! It's only right I go back. 2·3=6 We still family 6. #HomeTeam #StriveForGreatness http://t.co/2MpznC8JNM
- LeBron James (@KingJames) July 27, 2014 Earlier this month. James had asked his Twitter followers for their input on whether he should continue to wear the No. 6, which he wore with the Miami Heat, or return to the No. 23 he wore when he last played with the Cavaliers.
Sources told ESPN.com's Darren Rovell earlier this month that James was also considering No. 32, which he wore his freshman year of high school when 23 wasn't available.
James wore No. 23 from his sophomore year in high school through the 2009-10 season, his last with the Cavaliers.
He changed to No. 6, the number he wore for the Olympics, when he went to the Miami Heat, saying he thought all players should give up No. 23 so that Michael Jordan could be honored league-wide.
"I just think what Michael Jordan has done for the game has to be recognized in some way -- soon," James said in March 2010. "If you see 23, you think about Michael Jordan. You see guys flying through the air, you think about Michael Jordan. You see game-winning shots, you think about Michael Jordan. You see fly kicks, you think about Michael Jordan. He did so much, it has to be recognized, and not just by putting him in the Hall of Fame."

..it may seem like a silly thing to point out, but for him to go on record stating that it was out of respect for jordan and urging others to do the same just makes this current decision hilarisad.
and i don't wanna hear any bullshit like, "..this is what the fans wanted..."
he could choose to wear any number allowed and it would outsell any jersey for the next 5 yrs.
i don't really care either way, but this shit makes him look like a clown.

Corny is who he is, so him going back to 23 isn't a surprise. Kobe has that sneaky type of corniness where sometimes he's cool, sometimes he's super serious, and then every once in a while he'll come out with something corny like "Everybody has to call me Black Mamba now" and you just gotta shake your head. To sum up: Bron seems more sincere in his corniness whereas Kobe is too self-aware to get away with it.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

number...because Jordan SHOULDN'T have his # retired by the league
For what? Because he was a great basketball player...
If there's any one player who deserves to have his jersey retired by the league, it's WILLIAM RUSSELL
As far as Bron going back to #23, it's only right. #6 belongs to the Heat and to wear any other number besides those two might complicate matters when it's time to induct him into the HOF.
