"Do you see Lebron remaining a SF for the rest of his career?"
I think it was Bomani Jones that brought it up on ATH the horn the other that the weird thing about the Kevin Love push is that Lebron will likely transition to playing the 4 has he gets older (and slower). I never really considered that as a factor. So I'm wondering if that change in position is a safe assumption at this point. Is Melo playing PF again this year for the Nickbags? I read somewhere that PPierce is going play a lot more PF now, which sounded crazy to me Of course the cavs could just small ball it out but that doesn't seem ideal with Love on the defensive end

I'm not worried about positional log jams with Bron, at any age, on any planet. Any coach who can't find an effective way to use him should be relegated to coaching the Burger King Whoppers of the Filipino league.

he'd stay at SF to continue having the size advantage in the paint, Love would keep his (hypothetically bigger) man away from the basket where the offense wants him...everybody's happy
3. "you mean he doesn't score in the post often?" In response to Reply # 2
he's a stretch 4 - but Love bangs and rebounds, and thus spends a considerable amount of time in the paint, particularly on offensive rebounding opportunities.

in this weirdo near positionless NBA, Bron's gonna be the semi-4 magic was when he came back in 95. (and imagine the point forward he woulda been had he never retired. another post another time)
@ the 4 is where he could actually average the trip dub. he's not gonna have a challenge guarding most of em, and he'll bring the big ones out on the perimeter and drive past em, or hit em in the head from 3.
and if a team switches a sf on him, he's getting bullyfooted and that forces double teams.
which is why Bron developing Wiggins to a max player on the wing on a rookie deal as he slides to the 4 is perfect for cleveland long term.
oh yeah melo will play 4 pretty much the rest of his career. it was done on a lark and then turned out to be something.
pierce at 4 changed the nets whole season.
Jabari Parker is a 4.
there's still gonna be traditional 4's, but the league really doesn't have rules as to who plays what now.

"Positionless NBA" is the key and LeBron is the ultimate "positionless" player. As a 3, he played well with another (Battier). As a one-man band (running the 1, defending the wing and helping down low) he was successful. I don't see this precluding success. You can't tinker too much with stuff that you'll have to worry about down the road IMO. The windows are too narrow in the NBA.
