1. "P.S. here is the rumored deal that Minn has agreed to"
In response to Reply # 0

Cavs & T'Wolves have agreed to deal sending Andrew Wiggins, Dion Waiters, & Tristan Thompson for Kevin Love & Glenn Robinson III.

We'll see how real this source kid is in the next 48 hours I guess
Exact quote from source :
"We have accepted the offer. It's Waiters, Thompson, and Wiggins for Love and the rights to GRIII" word for word.

The trade also opens up thr roster spot for Ray Allen.
Born going with 3 maxes and teh geezers approach again. Tried and true for 2 rings, but this time he's dealing with guys who are (injury prone but with less mileage)

You guys happy?

1 #1 pick--just Wiggins.
You get rid of Dion and Throw Tristan since he would be a bench guy.

Now you keep Bennett since hes improved sooo much.

At least as he presently is. He'd get zero tick on the current roster.

And no, I wouldn't trade Wiggins AND Dion for Love. For all of Dion's problems, he IS a strong asset on the trade market. He's a scoring machine, pressed as shit on offense too.

He may not play but he is gonna be in the NBA all year

He understands how to play a team game, moves without the ball, works hard, and developed a dependable jumper.

IF he can hit the NBA 3 he will play, wherever he ends up

Budinger, Brewer, Bazz, and then Wiggins with this trade. If MIN turns the 3 over to Wiggins, i assume they will want a vet to back him up.

But playing behind lebron, the Cavs can give him a few minutes a night especially if AB goes too.

But if nothing else he obviously knows how to play, and be effective, with stars. Not his fault Michigan's backcourt has be been churning out All Americans.

I mean they were running goddamn CP3 and Darren Collison out there in crunch time, and Bledsoe is a far superior version of Collison is just about every way. I kinda want to see what Doc would have done running CP3 and Bledsoe out together for a full season... I know that leaves them at a disadvantage guarding bigger 2 guards, but Redick wasn't solving their problems guarding big wings either (and I love JJ).

We were so close to getting Love while keeping Klay. Now they dangle Wiggins and management feels the need to ante up.

Yeah, I don't see how trading Klay for Love demonstrably improves us. This isn't Love for a rookie with potential. This is one half of the best young backcourt in the game. Man, I'm sick of seeing this movie.

He saw what everybody else saw, two inferiors dudes who were restricted get paid this offseason. He shouldn't have to take any shorts. He'd be better doing what everybody else is doing and signing for less years and another shot in 2-3 years. If phoenix won't pay him then they should trade him.

unlike those other players you're referring to

I don't see his leverage in demanding a 5 year max deal based on just that fact alone

he's a fantastic player, no doubt

but as evident from other teams not biting, I'd be hesitant to make a long term commitment to him

There aren't too many teams out there that both good enough to actively seek an upgrade at PG and have the flexibility to make a move for him. I mean Indiana could use an upgrade but have no flexibility, Houston seems to me to be the most logical fit but seem dead set on keeping the cap space to get a "Top 10" player, and most playoff teams are set at PG. There sure are a lot of playoff type teams that badly need a wing upgrade though.

I'm surprised some team like the Lakers or something haven't made a bid on him... I mean is just planning to suck forever and getting high draft picks really a better plan than having an actual good player at a fairly reasonable price?

that 1+ ppg = a mile? word?

in Bledsoe's 4 NBA seasons, he's missed the equivalent of an entire season's worth of games

and 3 of those seasons were in a reserve role

IMO, the injury concern is why $12M/yr sounds right

also, see my reply about no teams biting

I mean, he's out there

if he's better by a mile

you'd think he'd have gotten his number by now

no?

There can be injury concerns that's okay. He's missed games really 2 years. And a lot of games last year during a contract year. I don't put much weight on that.

Like I said, his agent might be mishandling the situation.

>year. I don't put much weight on that.

There are absolutely injury concerns. If I were a negotiating front office id hold those over his head like shit. Injury concerns are the reason Steph Curry is paying for 12 million a year.
One of the biggest places or leverage front offices use.

Wait you dont put much weight on a guy being out significant time during a contract year? If anything thats teh year you should be playing for your contract and not hurt.

Bledsoe got screwed by 2 things

1) being a RFA- everyone thought that PHX would easily match so nobody even offered.
Same shit happened ti Pekovic,

2) Injury concerns

3) Nobody who had a lot of money was openly in need of a pg.
Charlotte, Dallas

Now PHX has all the leverage caus ethey know nobody can offer a max except Philly.

Bledsoe can take a short term deal and reup but I know with his playing style and injury history his agent and him probably want more long term stability.

Both sides are playing a dangerous game. Bledsoe keeps losing more leverage with time and Phx risks burning the relationship with Bledsoe and his agent.

Bledsoe and his agent need to find a team willing to make the offer if not just to force Phx's hand.

Dude takes pictures like hes shooting for a mid nineties NY hip hop album cover. Hes even got the sort of name that would easily double as a dope rap moniker.

AZ hates immigrants, so putting a dude named Goran Dragic on the marquee isnt in the cards either.
Isaiah Thomas FTW!

IT2 looks like hed love nothing more than to mow your lawn for you and discuss how any God-fearing man worth his salt guides his principles around the Book Of James.

My theory: Phoenix wants to keep him, but theyre not trying to use his face to sell season tickets.

I'm also joking.

This turn on your own nonsense is absurd. Its a fine example of you trolling Lakers posts. And while youre playing cute and pretending that youre not trolling a Lakers post because the thread itself is about free agency, youre trolling a Lakers centric portion of the post. Stop lying to yourself.

Anyhow, we have like 18 mil in point guards as it is. Id rather keep Kendall and bench Nash, but he wasnt getting minutes unless Nash or Lin went down. I thought he earned a shot, but looking at the roster, it is what it is.

You cant look at anything the Lakers or Kobe does without some shit like that turn on your own comment. Its a business move, one made in pro sports all the time, not some malicious backstabbing that youre making it out to be.

But I think they'll run clarkson as backup 2 and they still have Nash who I guess signs are pointing to him being healthy.

They need to sign a 3 and 5 so maybe making room.

Marshall was only making a mill

Maybe Booz tipped the quota of light skin cats with the beard game.
Would be fun to see Booz and Marshall talking on court

needed the flexibility to make other moves.

I guess he was the odd man out with Nash apparently coming back, Lin's contract and apparently they're pretty high on Clarkson.

Its crazy dude was a lottery pick a couple of years ago and has already been outright released from 2 different teams. He wasn't all-world but he seemed like he could at the very least be a solid backup PG in the league. I wonder if he has an attitude or is an asshole off the court or maybe his agent is an asshole.

I love Bledsoe's game. But dude needs a reality check. Teams are looking at his past injuries and knee issues...That's why it's more than likely he won't see that $80 mil he's looking for...I hope he takes the deal they are offering...It's even more than Curry's deal and he's actually been a starter for his team for more years...

I've long said that the Bulls should have gotten back in that Kevin Love trade talk....They are putting together an offer that could include Mirotic/or/Taj Gibson, picks and ready to play talent...In my opinion, this would put them in the running with the Cavs...This is going to be interesting...

----

Bulls making push for Kevin Love
Updated: July 22, 2014, 2:29 PM ET
By Marc Stein and Brian Windhorst | ESPN.com

The Cleveland Cavaliers are firmly in the lead to acquire Kevin Love, but the Chicago Bulls are making a renewed push to get into the trade mix for the All-Star power forward, according to sources close to the process.

Sources told ESPN.com the Cavs are increasingly optimistic that they are progressing toward a trade framework that the Minnesota Timberwolves will accept in exchange for Love to pair him with his Team USA teammate LeBron James.

Cleveland's offer, sources said, would be headlined by No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins, 2013's No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett and a future first-round pick. At least one more player might have to added to the package to satisfy NBA trade rules. ESPN.com reported the trade pieces the Cavs are offering on Friday.

Sources say that the Bulls, though, have re-entered the race and would appear to be the biggest threats to the Cavs, thanks largely to the Golden State Warriors' resolute unwillingness to add longtime Wolves target Klay Thompson in any deal.

Although the full extent of the Bulls' offer wasn't immediately known, it is believed Minnesota would seek a package from Chicago featuring forward Taj Gibson and defensive ace Jimmy Butler in addition to other assets. The Bulls shelved their Love interest while trying to sign Carmelo Anthony away from the New York Knicks but, according to sources, have re-emerged as contenders.

ESPN.com reported as far back as May that Golden State and Chicago were prime destinations that interest Love, who holds more than the usual sway in this process because he has the ability to become a free agent next summer.

The Cavs, though, rocketed to the upper echelon of Love's wish list of potential trade destinations from the moment James agreed to return to Cleveland. ESPN.com reported this month that even James' short-term contract with the Cavs -- which spans only two seasons and includes a player option to return to free agency next summer -- would not dissuade Love from committing to Cleveland.

EnlargeKevin Love
Rocky Widner/NBAE/Getty ImagesChicago is making a renewed push to get into the trade mix for Kevin Love, according to sources.

Wolves owner Glen Taylor insisted again last week that he wanted to keep Love and that Minnesota is prepared to open the season with Love on the roster. But sources say numerous rival teams believe that Minnesota will ultimately part with Love before the start of the new season, given the extremely public nature of Love's unwillingness to commit to the Wolves beyond this season.

As ESPN.com reported Sunday, Cleveland is planning to formalize a contract with Wiggins this week. A trade involving Wiggins can't be done until 30 days after he signs his contract, which means the Cavs would have to wait a month to officially complete a deal with Minnesota even if the sides come to terms on a swap.

The Cavs' delay in signing Wiggins is not related to their pursuit of Love, sources say, but they ultimately would have to have Wiggins under contract to facilitate such a trade. The packages Cleveland has been offering to Minnesota, sources say, have included Wiggins' projected salary-cap number of $5.5 million, which can be factored into the trade only if he's under contract.

While James is said to be intrigued with Wiggins' potential and to have tracked his progress during summer league, sources say he has backed the Cavs' win-now pursuit of Love, with whom he played on the United States' gold-medal winning team at the 2012 London Olympics.

ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard reported last week that a Cavs-Wolves trade appeared close to completion but quoted sources close to the process as saying Minnesota wants more than Cleveland has offered to this point.

Sources say that the Wolves and Warriors also appeared close to completing a deal in June that would have sent Love to Golden State, but the Warriors ultimately decided they could not bear to part with Thompson, offering a combination of David Lee and Harrison Barnes instead.

None of them have the potential of Wiggins or the star power of Klay... or even Waiters.

I'm starting to think Minny isn't going to come off Love before opening day without a ridiculous deal anyway.

You r over-thinking this, homie...

Flip reportedly doesn't want to start over; he wants players that can make an impact right now...He wants players that r ready to play...That's why dude wanted Klay/Lee (bad deal, but u get the point...)....That Wiggins talk only happened because GS balked at giving Klay away....That's why he's holding out for even more than just Wiggins and Bennett (he wants Tristan AND/Or Dion too...And he's not trying to give up his young rim protecting center, another player the Cavs want involved..)

Read the article carefully. This is not about getting stars back. Beyond that, Flip wants draft picks as well (something that the Bulls have...), expiring contracts AND ready to play talent if he can't get Klay or Wiggins...He basically wants the best deal possible...

The question is simple: Will the Cavs give up Wiggins, Bennett, Tristan (or Dion), AND a draft pick for K. Love?

This is more about the Bulls being more willing to give up a shit load of DIVERSE options and the Cavs balking at gutting their team...

Nah...I'm looking at the history of trades when it comes to small market teams...

What did Orlando get back from LA when they traded Shaq? There are a lot of instances of STAR players going to teams for picks, young talent, and expiring contracts...

Again...Both GS and Cavs would have better deals than the Chi...

But if those other teams r balking, then an opening is there...

As for that middle of the road talent jab?

I will leave it up to the seasoned basketball draft experts to grade the player that is rumored to be part of such a deal (Mirotic)...When the experts say that Mirotic would have been a top 4 pick in this years draft then that's what I'm going to use to evaluate the kid as a talent...

Well for starters....

Fraschilla: Mirotic 'top 4' pick in '14 draft

ESPNChicago.com

Nikola Mirotic isn't ready to become the next Dirk Nowitzki, according to ESPN analyst Fran Fraschilla, but he is still a solid player who would have been a top-four selection in this year's draft had he been available.

"I think he would have been the guy like we said with Jabari Parker, he's the most ready to play in an NBA game right now," Fraschilla said on ESPN 1000's "Waddle and Silvy Show" on Monday. "And we might have even made the statement Andrew Wiggins may have the most upside, but I honestly think he would have been in the top . Let's assume a healthy Embiid, you're definitely talking about a top-four pick."

Podcast: 'Waddle & Silvy Show'

ESPN basketball analyst Fran Fraschilla joins "Waddle & Silvy" to give a scouting report on Nikola Mirotic and what the Bulls can expect of him if he joins them for next season. Listen
Mirotic, who was picked up by the Chicago Bulls in a draft day deal in 2011, has worked out a buyout to get out of his deal with Real Madrid, according to reports out of Europe. As the Bulls wait for Carmelo Anthony to make a decision as to where he will play next season, they're also trying to figure out just how much it will take to land Mirotic, who is not bound to the rookie scale because he was drafted three years ago.

When asked for an NBA comparison, Fraschilla compared Mirotic to a young Hedo Turkoglu, a player who can space the floor for Derrick Rose and knock down jumpers. But he also noted that fans should not expect too much too quickly.

"I think the Bulls are getting a really solid player here," Fraschilla said. "But they're not getting Dirk Nowitzki, certainly not at this stage of his career."

Fraschilla used a baseball reference to illustrate his point.

"Playing at the level he has for the last four years, he's hitting .330 in Triple-A," Fraschilla said. "And now you're bringing him up to the big leagues. If you're the Chicago Bulls, for example, you're hoping he's going to be a .290 hitter right off the bat."

The Bulls are hoping that production will begin instantly. The front office has always been high on Mirotic's potential because of his ability to stretch out an opponent's defense.

"Given the way the flow of the league is going with spacing, really a lack of quality inside scorers, the game has become a driving game," Fraschilla said. "And where it fits for the Bulls, especially and particularly if D. Rose is healthy and back to form, is he is a 6-10, young floor spacer who can really shoot it. But also has enough skill to be able to drive it on occasion. Play around the basket some. He's got to get a little bit stronger; they're getting an above-average NBA starter at 24 who's not an All-Star quality just yet. You're getting a very good, above-average NBA starter. Given his age it was worth the wait and I think he'll have a nice impact on this Bulls team, particularly with all the pieces that will return."

Fraschilla believes that some of Mirotic's struggles late in the year can be attributed to how the past season in Europe wore him down.

"The macro view of what happened with Real Madrid is they lost some key games down the stretch of their season and overreacted," Fraschilla said. "I understand the coach is now gone or at least he's on the way out. And this is what they do in Europe. Mirotic played 73 games this year. He got tired down the stretch.

"But before a Bulls fan says, 'Wait a minute, that's not as long as the NBA season," keep in mind that these guys take practice way more seriously than they do in the NBA. And what I mean by that is NBA games, once the season starts, there's far fewer practices, far more games. But in Europe, because the season starts in early October, late September, it's lots of practices, lots of games. Mirotic seemed to tire toward the end, but I saw with a number of European players late in the year."

I just hadn't heard the hype was this loud, apparently. Most of the tweets and what have you list Taj and Jimmy first-- obviously because they're more well-known, but you'd think they'd lead with Mirotic if he's the jewel of the trade.

I just didn't know. I literally know nothing about overseas guys at all until they arrive. I know their combine stats and, when drafted, their draft pick. That's it. lol

Usually Fran's toughest criticism is "he has tons of potential!... but he's raw."

The reports above that teams would offer high picks for Mirotic are far more useful information than saying "Fran likes him!" lol

I want some examples of Fran saying on a broadcast "oh, this overseas prospect has a very low ceiling, not any real pro potential there," lol.

That doesn't mean their potential isn't real or that those players aren't good. But for every overseas guy that does work out that Fran cysed, there are more who never really panned out or who never even came over to stay.

It's always just nice to hear from more scouts than just Fran.

In response to Reply # 125

there's not a ton of airtime devoted to talk of overseas talent.

so they give Fran his allotted 3 minutes or whatever, and tell him he can talk about 4 guys.

The four guys good enough to get into that airtime slot are obviously gonna be the guys he thinks have potential. the ones he sees and doesn't like don't get talked about and don't become prospects.

it's like pilots on TV. you look at some of them that make it to air, and some of them are as good as the hype, and others you're thinking "someone greenlit this? it's fucking terrible!"

But you don't see all the other bullshit they had to wade through in order to get to that one. They aren't all winners, but these are the ones that at least had enough potential to make it to air.

Can't get any clearer.

I tossed him in with the pack in that original comment that he doesn't have the star power of Wiggins and Klay because, well, I hadn't heard that. At all. I should have just not even mentioned his name. Truthfully I didn't even remember including his name in that sentence until I went back and read it, lol. I've never seen him.

He could be better than Wiggins and Klay combined. He could be shit. I have zero idea.

LOL...DAT GOALPOST IS MOVING...

Nobody is saying Fran's opinion is unimpeachable...But he knows his shit when it comes to overseas players....Plus it really goes back to your original question: WHO said the kid was a top 4 pick? Just because u don't like the messenger doesn't mean the answer has no validity....

And it's already been reported that the Bulls were offered top 10 picks by a few teams in the league for Mirotic in this draft...

Teams valuing a Euro player and taking him in the top 10 is not earth shattering...It's been done many times...

Now if you think Minny pulling a deal for Mirotic would be dumb because you are more of a college basketball head who believes that the Euro ball scene is fool's gold, that's an entirely different discussion....

I simply missed the reports that Chicago had been offered a late Top 10 pick. Which isn't a top four pick, but cool. The reporting is consistent.

It has nothing to do with a pro-college bias, it has everything to do with the fact that I haven't seen him play, so I can't either hype him up or shoot him down. I have zero opinion on him, other than knowing he was the 23rd pick in the 2011 draft. Fran's opinion doesn't really move me either way, because (a) I haven't seen the player play, which is how I root 100% of my opinions, and (b) Fran does something similar with most every overseas prospect.

I think literally anyone can understand skepticism in hearing that the 23rd pick in 2011 is worth a top four pick in the most heralded draft class since 2003.

I'm mostly reacting to Taj (the definition of a "fine" player) and Jimmy (hard worker, good defender, role player) being somehow better pieces. If Mirotic is the big jewel in the offer, and you think he's better than Wiggins or Klay, cool. I just haven't seen him play. But I know Wiggins, Klay, and Dion are all a health amount better than Taj and Jimmy.

I can dig it....

I will say this though...The Bulls have the most flexibility in any trade scenario...And there is one more thing to remember...Minny is the team that had been hitting up the Bulls about Taj, Butler, draft picks, ect...And this is before we officially signed Mirotic...

I still believe Minny would rather trade with GS....But you are not going to get me to say that the Cavs trade idea blows the Bulls away. That is unless Flip is able to get what he REALLY wants from the Cavs...

There are the reports that they'd prefer to have Klay. Since I've dug Klay since WSU, I get it, even if personally I disagree. Klay could be a face of a franchise.

Mirotic could be. Don't know. But Taj and Jimmy certainly never will be. And they need a star.

Whatever happens it will be interesting. Personally, I believe he REALLY wants that Klay/Lee deal more than any of the other deals on the table given that he wants Minny to win now (I know, that doesn't make sense...But that's what Flip has been telling folks...)

Taj is a solid player. Jimmy is a borderline star in the making. Mirotic is an intriguing prospect. Give me all of that over the unproven Wiggins, borderline bust to some people not named me known as Bennett, and overrated fat fuck Dion.

Minnesota should pull the trigger on this trade.

Give him a good 44.5 minutes a game and acknowledge the fact that it's his team heading into the offseason. Put him on the Duncan plan and rest him throughout the season and the Wolves should do damage when they make the playoffs. If the Wolves trade for Dion I need a rogaine watch for Flip Saunders' hair.

Free JB. Taj Gibson needs more people to acknowledge his greatness dammit.

My point is this:

Proven commodities and draft picks we know CAN CONTRIBUTE RIGHT NOW MEANINGFULLY to a winning team versus unknown possible busts are better for a rebuilding team.

*EDIT*

Clearly, I'm on some agenda shit. Fuck Kevin Love and Minnesota for trading him to the Cavs. Fuck the Bulls for not adding a draft pick. Fuck GSW for not adding Klay and sparing me from the humiliation of Kevin Love leaving in 2016 anyway. I reserve the right to eat grilled crow sauted in sustainable cooking grease.

It's a domino effect more than anything else...It's not that the Bulls have the best deal. It's what other teams are willing to give...

If the Cavs don't want to include Tristan and Dion as some reports have noted WITHOUT getting back that young rim protector alongside Love then what happens?

If GS don't want to give up Klay, then what?

Flip will take another option...An option that includes 1st round draft picks, ready-to-play players and expiring contracts...

Of course Flip will take the Wiggins deals and GS deals over the Bulls...

But the same has to be said for GS and the Cavs for that to happen...

although taj and noah would have been pretty good too.

he could even play small forward at the end of the game since the nba is full of pauses and replay in crunch time anyway. hell the relevant competition is mike miller and paul pierce these days....i think he can keep up.

>who, when the bulls don't get another high-profile target,
>will somehow to continue to believe the bulls do everything
>possible to win.

the above doesn't make any sense.

melo wasn't going to take 54 million less. lets start there.

so they improved front court depth with added size/skill (pau) and stretch four (euro). noah has trouble with bigger big's and boozer is the worst, so pau's addition is huge imo.

they added shooting. mcdermott's shot is wonderful.

they added backcourt scoring/playmaking. aaron brooks will undoubtedly look like an all star at some point under thibs.

and we now have arguably the deepest team in the league.

i don't get it.

as the key word, anything is arguable. it's not like they got embarrassed in the playoffs with lack of healthy talent and replaced their losses basically one-for-one.

but glad we've swung back to the overvaluing of the roster. i'm sure mcdermott and mirotic will change everything.

You act like the team that battled your spurs for the best record in the league 2 yrs running didn't have a comparable bench.

Taj
Korver
Kirk
Brewer
Kurt Thomas
Hell even George Lucas III

That shit was at min top 5 for 2 yrs running. And what we got now aint better? Ya'll trotted out patty mills and Corey Joseph and the red rocket fam. Let us eat. Rose knees hold up, reg season gonna be feast time.

chicago's clearly got 10 or 11 guys who'd earn viable rotation minutes on most teams. in any credible conversation about the deepest teams in the league, they'd be one of the first 2 or 3 to be mentioned.

what a weird issue to be pressed about. lolz.

it's only depth if it doesn't have to start when rose misses 60 games and dunleavy misses 40 and gasol misses 30.

if you want to bring up mills and them, as a spurs fan i'm 100% with you on the scariness of that situation, because we have been bounced out of the playoffs too when our stars got banged up, and none of them were frail as what y'all got.

but if cory joseph and danny green were bulls, yeah, they'd probably be untouchable in trade talks.

pau is an upgrade in more ways than one, bottom line. add that to the fact that he's not going to be asked to play 30 minutes a night due to said depth and we're golden.

In response to Reply # 152

they could have started jettisoning pieces to make the room, before actually getting a commitment from him. sort of like houston did with lin and asik. that didn't turn out too well tho.

a sign-and-trade was never an option. the process never progressed to that point. melo would've had to choose chicago first before that even became an option.

http://espn.go.com/espnradio/chicago/play?id=11233297 (skip to 7:30)

melo was a UFA. chicago and new york couldn't just haggle over a fair price for him, unless he wanted to go to chicago in the first place. and he ultimately decided he didn't want to.

In response to Reply # 0

http://www.si.com/nba/2014/07/22/cavaliers-jazz-trade-kevin-love

The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a trade that could help facilitate a potential deal for Timberwolves' power forward Kevin Love.

In the trade, which was first reported by Yahoo Sports, Cleveland will send forward Carrick Felix, a future second-round pick and $1 million to Utah for guard John Lucas and forwards Malcolm Thomas and Erik Murphy.

The three players Cleveland will receive in the trade are on non-guaranteed contracts.

Yahoo Sports reported earlier Tuesday that the Cavaliers are pursuing non-guaranteed contracts to include in a package for Love. Minnesota could then release the players on those contracts for salary cap relief.

Cleveland could also use the three players in other packages to set up a trade for Love.

The Timberwolves are said to be interested in unloading J.J. Barea and Kevin Martin, who together have four years and more than $25 million remaining on their contracts, in a potential Love trade.

Negotiations between the two sides have reportedly progressed after Cleveland indicated it would part ways with Andrew Wiggins.

Wiggins, the No. 1 pick in the 2014 draft, could sign his rookie contract with the Cavaliers as soon as Wednesday. Rules in the NBA's Collective Bargaining Agreement stipulate that a trade involving Wiggins could not be consummated for 30 days after he signs.

Other potential landing spots for Love include Golden State, Denver and Chicago.

The Cavaliers reportedly have also been trying to acquire an experienced center.

Love, 25, is reportedly intent on leaving Minnesota if the team does not trade him before the end of next season, when he can opt out of the final year of his contract to become an unrestricted free agent. The three-time All-Star averaged 26.1 points and 12.5 rebounds a game last season as the Timberwolves won 40 games and missed the playoffs.

Tyson is going to be playing 1 on 5 defensively w/ the starting crew ala his Knicks days. The loss of Marion is only going to make it worse since I highly doubt Aminu gets enough PT.....even if he did, his forte isn't checking guards but rather checking wing-players. They basically replaced Vince/Marion w/ Parsons/Aminu/Little Richard....along w/ replacing Sammy/Blair w/ Chandler & Calderon w/ Nelson/Felt-on (I'm not sure if RJ/Ray are additions or subtractions).

WHAT'S GOOD *****? What's REALLY good?!?!????!!! Ha HA!

I'm still not sure what the hell RC is thinking by leaving a bum like Ayres on the roster & re-signing Bonner while passing on a decent back-up wing player like Aminu (signed for the same $$ as Bonner) when there is a gaping hole behind Kawhi.

Considering Patty's injury & Manu vowing to play FIBA ball although he has been diagnosed w/ a stress fracture, I wouldn't be surprised if the Spurs get embarrassed like the 2011 Lakers in the post-season. They have absolutely done nothing to beef up the front-line considering Diaw/Tiago will be playing FIBA ball & Tim is only going to regress..not to mention their rivals OKC adding McGary (along w/ Adams improving) & Mavs adding Chandler. If Aron Baynes isn't re-signed (which might happen since they still haven't addressed Patty's replacement) then Ayres is going to end up being the worst back-up center in the league.

WHAT'S GOOD *****? What's REALLY good?!?!????!!! Ha HA!

FUCK ALL OF Y'ALL COME EAT THIS CROW, ESPECIALLY YOU FUCKS THAT SHAT ON OUR FRONT OFFICE. FUCK YOU AND YOUR SHITTY WORTHLESS CITY ESPECIALLY YOU PHILLY NIGGAS.

Their moves both good and bad lured the most prized free agent in the NBA to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Bron doesn't leave Miami for Cleveland if it's a really bad undesireable situation. Meanwhile your favorite squad that's tanked for three years and will tank for another one can't lure a free agent there. No shots at most of the league, I'M TALKING TO YOU.

I'm going in honor of Ray Allen considering the Cavs.

178. "Wolves, Bulls ganging up on Cavs to weaken Cleveland's supporting cast?"
In response to Reply # 0

good. fuck lebron getting everything he wants.

http://www.cbssports.com/general/writer/gregg-doyel/24636835/are-wolves-bulls-ganging-up-on-cleveland-to-weaken-cavs-supporting-cast

Turns out we've been looking at this Kevin Love deal all wrong, because to date we've been looking mostly at the Cleveland Cavaliers -- the team that would have to part with rookie Andrew Wiggins to get Love.

Should the Cavs trade Wiggins? Should they not? That's been the debate and focus, but as the days pass and clarity sets in and the Cavaliers reportedly have decided to include Wiggins in a package for Love, the focus should shift to Minnesota. That's where the story is, because the Timberwolves are one of two things, and either option is fascinating:

1. They're still the stupidest franchise in the NBA, even with the point-guard hoarder, David Kahn, long gone.

2. They're brilliant.

I'm leaning toward the latter, because like I said, David Kahn is gone and Flip Saunders is in charge of basketball operations -- and while Flip has never struck me as particularly brilliant, he's never struck me as the kind of bungler who would be fooled by what the Chicago Bulls are doing. What are the Bulls doing? Dangling more and more replaceable parts in a ridiculous, transparently futile attempt to acquire Kevin Love in a package that would be, talent-wise, pennies on the dollar.

The Bulls' latest offer is a solid veteran (Taj Gibson), a European mystery (Nikola Mirotic) and one potentially high-upside piece: rookie Doug McDermott. That's a trio of players who would help Minnesota be competitive this season, which the myopic Flip Saunders might be desperate enough to consider important, but not enough of a foundation to build its future. (Well, McDermott could be. He tore up the Summer League, and while that's not a definitive sign of future NBA stardom, it's impossible to ignore that McDermott has been the best scorer at every level of ball he's ever played. Will he be the best scorer in the NBA? No, of course not. But he could be a damn good one.)

That said, McDermott is a wild card, Gibson is replaceable and Mirotic is a complete mystery, as are most international big men who come to the NBA. Tiago Splitter had hype. So did Nene. The former has been serviceable at best. The latter, pretty good. Which description is Mirotic destined to be? And do the Wolves want to cross their fingers and find out?

The only thing that makes sense to me is that the Bulls and Wolves are ganging up on the Cavaliers to weaken Cleveland as much as possible -- Chicago by upping its offer and Minnesota by leaking to the media that it is intrigued by it, both of which have the same result the Bulls and Wolves want, if for different reasons: the Cavaliers upping their offer.

The only thing that makes sense to me, unless Flip Saunders is as delusional as David Kahn, is that the Wolves know they have to accept Andrew Wiggins and anyone else the Cavaliers are duped into including in the deal. Former No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett? Oh sure, Cleveland says. And a future No. 1 pick? Sigh, says Cleveland, but OK. And Dion Waiters?

Hmmm. Now it's getting interesting, because at some point the Cavaliers could be giving away too much. Question is, and this is a serious question, is "giving away too much" even possible when the return is Kevin Love, which would mean adding the best offensive power forward in the NBA (Love) to a team that already has the league's best player (LeBron James) and best young point guard (Kyrie Irving)?

Answer: Probably not. If the Wolves push for Wiggins, Bennett, a first-rounder and Waiters, and the Cavaliers are fooled into thinking it would take all of those assets to acquire Love, then the Cavaliers have to ship up all those assets, and Tristan Thompson, and a second-rounder, and maybe a few ball racks and some rolls of tape. Whatever it takes, they have to get Love. Because once you've decided to give up Wiggins, as Cleveland presumably has, everyone else is replaceable. Think about it: After you've decided that dealing Andrew Wiggins is worth it, how do you draw the line at a replaceable part like Dion Waiters? That's like selling the Maserati but hanging onto the Cadillac. I mean, a Caddy is nice. But you can always find another one.

The best way, the only way, to judge a monstrous NBA deal -- the kind involving more than two players and even more than two teams -- is the tried-and-true method of pure alpha-male dominance: Which team got the best player? That team won.

The same holds for judging trade packages: Which team is offering the best player? Then that package wins. And since Cleveland is offering Andrew Wiggins, the Cleveland offer wins. I mean, it's not even close. Wiggins is a potential top-five player in the league for a long time to come, and sooner rather than later, based on the way he performed in the Vegas Summer League. The Bulls can't offer anyone close to Wiggins; therefore, the Bulls' offer will never approach Cleveland's offer.

Unless Flip Saunders is an idiot, he knows this. And unless the Bulls are delusional, they know it, too. Which means they're doing whatever they can to drive up the Cavs' offer, hoping to weaken Cleveland's supporting cast as much as possible when Love shows up to give the Cavs the best Big Three in the league. Because Chicago is in the Eastern Conference, too, same as Cleveland. Chicago has Derrick Rose, Pau Gasol, Joakim Noah and coach Tom Thibodeau. If Rose stays healthy, the Bulls are the Cavaliers' biggest (only?) threat in the East -- and they can increase their odds by fooling Cleveland into including Thompson or Waiters or both in its offer to Minnesota.

Maybe I'm giving Minnesota too much credit for playing the Bulls against the Cavaliers, but I know how smart Chicago is. That's a franchise trying to hurt the Cavaliers. Which means the question is this:

How smart is Cleveland? And how long will it keep bidding against itself for Kevin Love?

Despite me generally being against trading Wiggins for Love, they'd still be in great position after making that trade, I'm just convinced that they'll completely fuck up the whole "surrounding your stars with competent role players" part. They'll just end up signing a bunch of Ray Allen/Mike Miller a couple breaths away from their basketball deathbed types and disappoint in the playoffs and Lebron will end up a Laker in 2017 or so.

why would CLE trade for him?

Keep Wiggins this year

and sign Love in FA 15'

why trade assests just to get him 1 year earlier?

Now there legit won't be any offers for him on the table except CLE, and they may as well pull Wiggins out of the deal now.

Only reason to try and trade for Love now is to try and build a title winner this year, or hope that you can convince him to stick around for next season.

But yeah, CLE may as well just wait for next year and sign him off the market.

The salary cap might go up by maximum of $10 mill in 2016. The owners leaked reports via sources that they are not interested in having a huge salary cap jump. You can't remain competitive with three stars making max deals. The current salary cap is realistic for making future projections. The goal here is to maintain competitiveness for an extended period of time. In other words, fuck a trade. If he wants to come to Cleveland come as a free agent and take less to play for a contender. I'm not saying what we're contending for because I don't want to get ahead of myself.

Sources close to me tell me that Kevin Love will not opt into the last year of his contract. There's no way he's worth a rental. Their asking price is too steep.

Let's talk about him wanting 20 mill a year. Kevin Love is NOT WORTH 20 MILL A YEAR. There might be 10 players worth 20 mill in the NBA. Kevin Love ain't one of them. He's not worth Lebron money. If the cap averages 65 mill a year we're fucked. You can't fill out a roster with three players making 57 mill. Imagine the struggle roster put together with 8 mill. FUCK ALL OF Y'ALL COMING WITH CAVS JOKES. WE SEE YOUR SQUAD. Once again, I'm talking to a certain fan base. Everyone else leave me alone.

Eric Bledsoe said the Suns are using rules against him in an interview with FOX Birmingham.
It's a surprise that we're almost in August and Bledsoe hasn't come to terms or even signed an offer sheet with another team. While there isn't much of a body of work for Bledsoe, he still looks like a max-type guy based on the offers to Chandler Parsons and Gordon Hayward. There should be some progress in the next couple days or so.'''

Seems like this can come to an impasse and end up in soem S&T situation the longer it lasts. Who'd be in the market?

The Suns' relationship with restricted FA Eric Bledsoe is "on the verge of irreparable," according to Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com.
Bledsoe said last week that the Suns were using the rules of restricted free agency against him by scaring off other teams and lowering his market value. Bledsoe wants a max five-year contract but the Suns haven't offered him more than $48 million over four years, and their ability to match any offer sheet has dissuaded other teams from tying up their finances with a lucrative offer sheet. This may still have a happy ending, and ultimately the Suns can keep him whether or not he wants to stay in Phoenix.

Dude is often injured and should sign that deal quickly because there's no way he lasts four full seasons without declining at some point. He needs the DWade plan ASAP.

Simmons floated a theory on how the Cavs should consider a CP3 (the real one fuck a CP25) for Kyrie Irving. Both are injured and one is less entitled with an actual history of solid play.

I'm not saying we should trade Kyrie tomorrow but we should at least look at the deal.

Then says he actually has never seen him play

... I was talking primarily about Taj and Jimmy, since I had not heard any of the "Mirotic is ROY material" talk. And I don't think blindly assuming a Euro doesn't have the ceiling of a high American draft pick is the worst blind assumption to casually toss out, even if I should've watched my wording more carefully, because I'm talking to a highly passionate and highly vindictive fan base, lol. As Dula called it, it was an "instinctive FOH."

As of right now, seems like I'm wrong re: Jimmy. He's playing great. I'm glad I own him in Survivor Dynasty. I don't know why I ever let the slightest slivers of optimism creep in regarding Dion. Ever. It literally bites me every time.

Given the minutes, he's capable of all-star performances. JB out there looking real All-Star-ish.
