Rodman had some ball skills......he used to actually grab the board & dribble down the floor, plus he was an under-rated passer & was passable FT shooter. He was also not an intimidator bur rather a pest on defense. Ben Wallace basically had zero ball skills & dominated games by simply being a Bamma.

he was an all-star several times, one of the innovators of the "stretch" big who ran pick and pop well, obviously a very good rebounder and defender ... yet he still managed to be known first and foremost as a mugger. that's kind of respectable in my opinion. very well-rounded player. he wasn't sufficiently country or out of control on the court to be a bamma though.

It's like if you ain't Bob Petit or MAYBE Elvin Hayes, you can't get a single look all-time if you came in the league before Malone and Barkley. I think even McHale gets slighted at times, and shit he was a white Celtic.
McAdoo, Buck Williams, George McGinnis, Mo Lucas, et al, there were so many great fours. But I feel like every top ten list is Malone, Barkley Pettit, McHale, possibly Hayes and then a bunch of guys who have played recently in eras where the better bigs are fours and not fives generally. Everything is KG, Dirk and even undeserving guys like Webber.
I would definitely have Buck Williams in my top ten.
