"Is Miami still a contender?"

In the East, obviously, not the league. No one in the East is a title contender, as of right now IMO.

But Miami just added Deng. They will still have Bosh and presumably a highly motivated Wade (whatever that is worth).

McRoberts. Granger. Shabazz. Maybe Bledsoe...

McBob
Bosh
Granger
Wade
Bledsoe?

Is it too soon to say that they might rebound from losing Lebron?

I actually expect Bosh & Wade to play w/ some fire this year.
They should be well rested after being on cruise control.

Deng, Mcrobs, & Granger are very good additions -- and if they
can acquire Bledsoe - I'd say they are top 3 team in the east, easy.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

That's a better core to start than most teams in the east. I think they will be a top 5-6 seed and bosh gon beast like he did in tor.

But not good enough the get to the Finals. They'd have to get lucky.

I see them as a top 4 seed though.

Cavs and Bulls will own the conference, assuming Rose doesn't get hurt again and isn't a shell of himself.

Pacers better hope they can keep Lance. They in trouble though.

Wiz are on the come up, BK will be chasing the 8 seed.

Hawks, Raps, Pacers, Wiz & Heat are all pretty close right now.

If they wind up having some sort of career renaissance along with Wade and Bosh they could be a serious player in the east. Indy has an opportunity here if they can right that ship and Chicago has a serious window as well.

Problem is, Brawn just went to Cleveland with Kyrie. Guys like Waiters and Thompsan suddenly become lesser cogs in a bigger machine. If Wiggins makes good on his potential, that's a monster team. Then there's always that little rumor of adding Love without doing away with Wiggins. That's a scary thought.

The Wizards are also going to be a threat going forward.

Gortat+Asik+Nene is a tough big man rotation and Beal+Wall get another year of seasoning together.

Miami could be the 4th best team out East, or could just as easily be in that bottom 3.

rests on Rose. Cleveland is behind them but after that, its a crap shoot imo. (i'm assuming Lance is gone from indy)

i think we'll also have 8-9 teams .500 or better in the east altho i think we'll half of those teams in the 41-45 win range.
