"So-called NBA Tough Guys who've never really laid hands on anybody"
While watching the Bad Boys 30 for 30 and just thinking about hoops in the 80s & 90s, dudes would fight. Little guys. Big guys. Now there are dudes that are supposed to be tough, but never get tested.
Who comes to mind?
First dude for me, Davis West.
I remember him putting his hand in Dirk's face, but that's it. And that's Dirk. You get zero points for trying to punk Dirk.
Before Malice who was really throwing punches and connecting?
West's myth making comes from him being a boxer. It must be known around the league cause most dudes back down. Pero Antic was having none of it. Id probably bet Pero in that matchup just based off looks.

There's been a number of them. I've seen Z-Bo punch Louis Amundson, just because.
I was looking at that pic of Pero and D. West during a commercial break for PTI (I didn't watch the game), and I was thinking, "This dude D. West thinks he's real serious huh?"

They actually will. Once the same scenario gets repeated again and again, you know it's all a charade
-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

7. "toughness in the nba is the dumbest discussion had on these boards..." In response to Reply # 0
It is of competitive advantage to not have a tough guy persona. We know refs call reputations and not the actual game when shit gets tough for them to call.
The KG 'studio thug' shit is stupid as fuck, but I know there are 20 year old agendas involving him so whatever

>The KG 'studio thug' shit is stupid as fuck, but I know there >are 20 year old agendas involving him so whatever Dude is NOTORIOUS for talking that shit and running He did that shit to Melo, Duncan, and Charlie V. He didn't want it with BOBBY JACKSON...REALLY?
He's got too much of a track record to not be called out on it
Pierce writhing around on the ground in pain like he'd been shot meanwhile would be back playing again after a ten-minute official delay, KG starting the whole scrap then as soon as the big dogs stepped in (aka Fear of a J.O'Neal Falcon Punch) runs out of the huddle where it's getting testy back to the outside where he acts like people are holding him back then elbow-pushes a ref while talking shit only to those a foot shorter than him.
Never have two Hall of Famers had their career-in-crises M.O.'s so perfectly encapsulated in the same 15 seconds or so than right there.
