Oakland got a draft pick for a supplemental player they didn't believe in and were hours away from cutting. Supplemental draft picks aren't supposed to make rosters. Josh Gordon and other examples are exceptions to the rule. Their GM didn't believe in TP and neither did the coaching staff. They brought in three QBs last year to take his roster spot.

Seattle got a strong QB that they believe in enough to trade for. Their motto is competition so he will have to earn a roster spot as a QB. He's shown flashes of capable starter. His 135.7 QB rating against San Diego is proof he needs a coaching staff that finally belives in him and a GM that's willing to build around him.

He was a third round pick. If anything, that values him as better than the third round because it limited the next year's draft picks. U dont throw away a future third for a player you plan to cut or trade.

doesn't sound like building around him but getting him on the cheap to see if he pans out as a backup QB. Good plan for SEA but TP is not gonna start unless RW gets injured.

now, he didn't want to do that in Oakland, but i mean the Hawks have a ring now so that can help change players' minds.

He has probably NEVER played H-Back on any level. As someone who has played H-Back & QB, I know that those positions are very different, especially in the mega-fast NFL game.

Not saying this will not happen, but it just seems doubtful.

Also we know the back-up QB position is very open, as with most NFL teams.

The Seahawks policy is to NOT carry more than 2 QBs in general.

Even though Pete Carroll is all about competition, it would take probably the best camp ever for TP to unseat T-Jack.

TP is scheduled to make an unguaranteed 700K and he can be cut at any time and the only cost will be his $175/day per diem during OTAs and camp.

The Seahawks can use a tall, athletic guy at TE/WR. I believe TP has a 40 time in the 4.5's so if he's willing to change I think it could be a success.

I don't think the Seahawks see his future with the team as a QB, but Pete and John Schneider do all kinds of shit and maybe they do.

T.P. & the Raiders couldn't find a way to utilize him speaks volumes imo.

He had the tools to be a solid QB and definitely had the work ethic. I wish the coaching staff would've been more patient and let him play with actual....you know....offensive weapons and a line instead of drop back and figure something out.

Damn shame.

And like Kira said above, the GM and coaching staff kept trying to bring in players to take his spot and NONE of them outperformed him.

them a chance even though he was given shit to work with.

They had Matt Flynn who was horrible. Gave him money though.

Drafted Wilson with a high pick, who didn't make the team.

And rather go with I drafted McGloin.

And now rather hand the keys over with no chance of competition to the Human Pick 6, Matt Schaub.

Al made better decisions than this. At least he made aggressive moves to win,

Basically if you aren't one of his dudes or play his way, you're on the way out. I'm not sure what he can actually do well besides clear cap space and pick up veteran scrap heap guys... I have no idea if he can pick up or draft any actual impact players that can take you past 8-8.

they'll try to keep BJ Daniels on the practice squad but he's gotta clear waivers first.

Honestly, BJ Daniels (who??? you're probably saying) is miles better than TP2 (no Kellz). He's a less savvy Russell Wilson.

its kind of ironic that Pete Carroll has all those black QB's now because don't think he ever had one when he was at USC.

I'd be surprisingly OK with him backing up Derek Carr with Matt McGloin. But McKenzie and Allen would never do that.
