that he was a bargain-bin Desean Jackson stunt-double so we could make the asinine move of jettisoning our best receiver.
And I can now say the same now for re-signing Maclin and giving Riley Cooper eight-million guaranteed.
I would rather have Desean Jackson than any one of these guys and if this little shit about Instagram, his house being burgalized, answering a reporter question with a degree of honesty, raising his voice with a positional coach on the sideline or whatever that has recently been said to make him a 'distraction' makes him 'not a Chip Kelly guy' worthy of creating a hole in your roster where you once had a perennial Pro Bowler then I worry if he's built for this NFL life long-term.
Not to mention his bizarre vow of silence with the press/media even as the flames are being fanned every day in the papers for a month to the point that Desean calls/texts the coach directly and *still* doesn't get any response, now putting us in the situation where we are all but expected to release a guy when last offseason Percy Harvin yielded a first, third and fifth.
This is the dumbest and most unnecessarily controversial offseason I have seen, especially on the heels of a honeymoon debut season.

I do agree he's mentally lost his confidence, which obviously an athlete has to take some of the blame for as well.
Also not sure that now he's fallen this far both mentally and physically, becoming a bit of a punchline while having banked a good amount of money in his career that it doesn't just become easy to on some level start thinking passed your playing career towards the rest of your life.
>>I wanted Vick back but if not I wanted Barkley to get a >chance >>to sink or swim on his own as a backup not a third-stringer >>they don't give snaps to and then toss to the wolves. >I think Barkley's terrible dude...I honestly think Sanchez is >better than he is
I'd rather have that proven is my point, just like we're going to find out how terrible Riley Cooper is (unfortunately not before we gave him a contract).
I don't see Sanchez-vs-Barkley swinging this team's fortunes significantly short or long-term, so I'd prefer Chip have enough confidence in his own draft pick to give him a legit chance to validate that.
