it's not unfathomable. Carr ran just as fast at the combine. the tape shows he's elusive with the ability to extend plays. he was *the* guy on his squad and got total effort from his teammates. he's a bit bigger than Manziel, but he doesn't have the hype
not sure what his decision-making was like as far as making reads and smart decisions, but if that checks out, he could be a surprise on draft night
includes a couple of throws where the ball travels 60 yds in the air, him juking several defenders, and a number of quick back shoulder passes in the red zone
the 60 yd throw at 3:04 is particularly impressive as he barely had an opportunity to step into it

The biggest question mark to Carr is how he can perform when pressured. It isn't a huge question mark IMO, but the USC game highlighted it. But
His release is very quick, and the offensive design also calls for this, so there aren't a lot of examples of him having to hang in the pocket or roll out and make a play. Most of the time, when he had to create time for himself, he did make a play, but it was not something he had to do consistently.
Apples to apples, homer slant obviously, but I'd take Carr over Bridgewater or Bortles. I believe he's athletically superior and matches or exceeds those guys in passing ability, consistency, and leadership. A comparison to Manziel is apples to oranges, imo... but I'd probably take Manziel if I had to pick one. Carr is more dangerous within 40 yards of the end zone, but Manziel is a threat to score from anywhere on the field.

That's not to say he couldn't have a damn-near-decade-Alex-Smith career. If the team that drafts him, keeps him around long enough he'll be successful. I'm hedging until I see his last preseason game.
If my teams draft any of the following people in the first two rounds I'll be pissed:
JFF (Romo Jr.) Bortles Aaron Murray (by the end of the second round) Logan Thomas (Just in case he goes in the second) AJ McCarron
