"Video: Sherman mic'ed up during NFC Championship game"

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000316756/article/sherman-crabtree-micd-during-nfc-championship

After watching this shit Crab comes off as a major bitch...Sherman puts all the bad blood and venom aside to tell you "helluva game" and offers to shake your hand like a man, and that's how you react? I know we're all supposed to believe every member of the 49ers hates every guy on Seattle and vice-versa but after the game no matter how much teams hate each other, most players come on the field, shake hands and congratulate their opponent.

... but let's not act like his handshake and butt pat were totally loving gestures. He knew racing up to dude right after the play ended and offering the handshake would fuck with Crabtree's head and piss him off.

Which I'm fine with. And Crabtree shouldn't have shoved him regardless. But Sherman wasn't doing it as an earnest gesture of setting aside bad blood. He was doing it because it's the single safest way to fuck with your opponent while also covering your own ass.

I don't see how people can pretend like Sherman isn't a savvy motherfucker.

Truth be told it should be set aside now since Crap started it & Sherm finished it. He knew that was gonna be his only chance to settle the score since there wasn't gonna be a ton of hugs/handshakes between both teams after.

He was doing it because it's the
>single safest way to fuck with your opponent while also
>covering your own ass.

Since when has Sherm been concerned w/ choa tho? If it was 100% malice he would've had no problem sayin, "NOW WHAT?!?! insteada "helluva game".

>I don't see how people can pretend like Sherman isn't a savvy
>motherfucker.

No doubt about this. But at the same time people shouldn't pretend he's Bill Romanowski either. He showed love to LMJ & legit concern for Bowman after the game too.

People talk shit all game and on one on one matchups and have the decency to say good game or next time or whatever after.

Funny how none of the other 49ers muffed him or phased him out for being a calculated and crafty shit talker

after the play was a jerk move, and he knew it. I'm totally against the demonization of Sherman but there's no need to pretend he wasn't being a dick.

i "get" Crabs reaction in that moment.

however, Sherm seemed genuine, not sarcastic, so i gotta say Crabtree escalated that situation.

that said, the coolest thing about the Sound FX ep was hearing Sherm comment that he knew they were about to test him, and hearing Pete and Russ talk about drawing them offsides and going for the TD on 4th and 7.

I don't either. Probably would've done the same had I been in his shoes. Sherm wanted to have his cake & eat it too. Shouldn't have been shocked at that reaction. Subsequent interview was all about vindication.

it's a REAL stretch to argue that the hand shake was genuine
i mean he immediately went into a choke run/skip......
let's not be dense for the sake of being consistent with an agenda/argument

The ass-slap was first and then he proceeded to offer his hand...have seen that multiple times and it's never been reacted to as sincere. Sherman's track record, in game and after games, speaks for itself in terms of what his motives are...he's always instigating (I have no problem with it) and considering how much he dislikes Crabtree, this certainly doesn't come off as sincere to me.

No problem with any of it and I continue to defend his post-game reaction but he knew exactly what he was doing w the butt-slap and handshake.

from November, but I never saw this segment until today, courtesy of NFL Films' Turning Point.
definitely supports the argument that he's one of the best in the NFL

btw. I know it's coincidence, but it's cool how you have practice footage of
Earl telling Sherm to tip the ball for an interception instead of just breaking it up...
and it's exactly that play which ends up sending them to the Super Bowl

that's a guy I want in my locker room and on the field in the tight spots. The rest is insignificant.
