BOSTON (CBS) – After averaging 23.3 points over a three-game stretch, Celtics guard Jordan Crawford was named the Eastern ConferencePlayer of the Week on Monday.
Crawford, better known as “Steez” among his teammates, kicked his week off by scoring a season-high 25 points in a 108-100 win over the Milwaukee Bucks last Tuesday. He followed that up with a 22-point, eight assist effort in a 106-98 win over the Nuggets on Friday night, and hit a career-high six three-pointers on Sunday in Boston’s blowout win over the New York Knicks.

The Celtics were the only unbeaten team in the Eastern Conference last week with a perfect 3-0 record. In addition to his 23.3 points per game, good for fourth in the conference last week, Crawford averaged 6.7 assists, 3.0 rebounds and hit 12 of his 23 three point attempts.

Crawford is having a spectacular season for the Celtics under new head coach Brad Stevens, who moved him to point guard early in the campaign. In 22 games (18 starts), Crawford is averaging 13.9 points on 46 percent shooting and a team-high 5.4 assists per game.
Portland’s LaMarcus Aldrigde was named the Western Conference Player of the Week.
