Saints been the 2nd best team in the NFC however the Panthers are coming on up and got two games still with the saints and anything could happen. saints still gotta play the Hawks so who knows, however right now as things stand who is that team of the two with the best chance to beat Seattle?

Poll result (17 votes)

Because I think any team will be hard pressed to beat the Saints at home in an NFC title game.

Now the odds will be almost as challenging in Seattle, especially for the Saints who struggled mightily there a few years ago to a lesser Seahawks team than is there now. Furthermore, the Saints have proven they're an entirely different team outdoors on the road. If Seattle gets rain? Or it's even dry but still 36 degrees, at night, with THAT noise? Bottom line is the Saints will have a really hard out in that environment.

BUT The Panthers are a different story. They've proven through about half of a NFL season that they're not afraid of anyone, day or night, cold or dome, 1pm Sunday or prime time. That's a badass football team with a GREAT pass rush, a pass rush whose only rival in the NFC is, ironically, the Seahawks.

So I think that while the Saints are likely to win their division, they'd perform worse in Seattle than Carolina would. I'm chomping at the bit for a Carolina/Seattle NFC title game right now.

Played Seattle once: was a 5-3 game at halftime on the road. Final score looked terrible but the game was much more competitive than the score stated. Play them again at home likely with Crabtree in the line up. Division opponent...anything can happen from game to game.

Played Carolina: 10-9 game. speaks for itself.

Played New Orleans: Gore catches that dump off up the sideline, game over. The sack/fumble could have easily been called a legal hit, which also would have iced the game..this was in the superdome

all of this with Vernon Davis being out for a nice portion of the first two games, no crabtree, and our offense sputtering with Greg Roman calling the Alex Smith offense and Kaepernick being unable to run the Alex Smith offense. All of these teams are very very beatable for the niners.

Total Yards: 387-196 SAINTS

Time of Possession: 34:39-25:21 SAINTS

You making it about that Gore drop (or even worse an accurately called penalty) is really sad. You were GIFTED +14 points on completely unforced turnovers. If you can't win a game with that you did not deserve it, plain and simple. Pointing to only the mistakes your team made is a pathetic plea cop. Ya'll got OUTPLAYED.

Your offense sucks, the D has lost its bite and frankly nobody is worried about playing you if you are the road team like you'll be in dem 'offs.

Better luck next year bub.

you keep referring to being "gifted" 14 points...

Nobody is "gifted" anything...

Lance Moore is not your normal return man, and he muffed the kick.

Kaep chased dude down and he got hungry and dived and fumbled.

Fuck you talking about "gifted"

but I can't talk about a running back who was our team's leading receiver for 4 seasons dropping a wide open pass to pretty much end the game. or a highly controversial 15 yard penalty...

shut the fuck up

Congrats, a stunning display.

I've put up all of the visual evidence in other posts. It was perfectly defensible call, period. You lost the game by not capitalizing more on your amazing LUCK, not on that call.

The better team won, period. I present facts to back that account, you present pleas and tears. Right out of the niner fan handbook.

The gif you posted, ever so popular with the SF crybabies, "real football" apologists and other sideline peanut gallery meathead chumps, shows Brooks' upper arm clearly connecting with Brees' neck and his shoulder into the helmet. Ignore his hand on the pads, it is irrelevant. The whole thing matters.

Plus, his follow through was illegal too, conveniently cut from that gif:

this is where I thought you were going, and it's really my biggest problem

in the pic you posted, Brooks is actually letting go of Brees

from the initial contact he could have followed through

which would have looked like a Rock Bottom

but my biggest issue with the play is the initial contact

IS NOT to Brees' neck or head

which you can clearly see in the gif, as Brees' neck pokes out of his shoulder pads like a turtle

now, if I punch you in the shoulder or chest

and your body collapses and your head or neck make contact with me

does that mean I punched you in the head or neck? Of course not

c'mon

it was a bad call

you got the W

and you're still mad

The physics of how Brees' neck and helmet are impacting Brooks is IRRELEVANT. The contact is all that matters, based on the letter of rulebook.

This is indisputable, and has been confirmed by the league.

Game over. Enjoy your day.

You are so enraged, your head so filled with the fumes of your angry vomiting fit on Sunday, that you ignore everything that actually happened in that game prior to the final 3 minutes.

But Gore dropped a pass!

You got beat by the better team, cry.

Like 57 minutes of getting outplayed, and 2 unforced mistakes by us that directly led to a 14 point swing.

Your narrative should be, "Damn guys we were lucky to almost win that game! Tighten a few things up and we might get back to contender status, but that effort on Sunday ain't gonna cut it."

Instead its plea cops about a dropped pass and a ref call. 49er fans are the worst at this shit by far.

We got beat by the fucking Jets 2 weeks ago and you won't hear a peep from me about coulda/woulda/shoulda. We lined up, they beat us, fin.

Nope, my narrative is as I stated above, last second fg loss at the superdome with no offensive output..moral victory.

>Instead its plea cops about a dropped pass and a ref call.
>49er fans are the worst at this shit by far.

how is stating that the nigga dropped an open pass a plea cop? in fact, how is it any different from you talking about "unforced errors"? You are a fucking idiot.

If you would have said "I'm just trying to make myself feel better about my team by picking and choosing moments in games" rather than trying to provide "perspective", you might have a point.

I'm not hurt at all, in fact i'm much more optimistic than most...

the real question is why yall on my dick about being optimistic? fuck off me nigga

I don't concern myself with things not required of us winning the superbowl...

losing "measurement stick" regular season games...meh.

Winning the division...meh.

I'll get mad when we not in the playoff race.

passing defense?

While it sounds interesting to watch I think the Panthers would give the Seahawks more of a run for their money (pun intended)

A balanced attack is the only way you can get over on the Seahawks D

and the Panthers are more of a physical team at the end of the day on top of that

If the Seahawks beat the Niners in Candlestick, hard to imagine these guys truly believing they can win on the road in Seattle.
