into the award voting equation. almost all the winners are very well-deserving, Adam Jones being the main exception. but overall the selections were much much better than previous years.

But he's definitely the kind of guy that we're used to winning Gold Gloves. Athletic OF that hits HRs and has an great arm. It just so happens that he's not particularly good at getting to baseballs in the OF. See also Ellis Burks, Matt Kemp, Dave Winfield, and Jermaine Dye.
