"point of emphasis: beating up the guy with the ball is a foul"
About damn time. They better actually follow through on this. I miss loving college hoops.
LOL at this "There have been some complaints about the new directives, some grumbling along the lines of: If these rules are applied as written, half the players will foul out of games in the first 15 minutes."

saw how horrible offense was last year and this is the fix
of course, that does nothing to change the fact that a bunch of 1st & 2nd year players who haven't developed offensive games will be called on to lead their teams in scoring

for this rule change, when his squads have been as guilty of anyone of keeping 2 hands on defenders at all times?? dude is all over espn talkin bout how good this is for the game and its long overdue, you could've helped things beforehand by teaching your defenders to guard with their feet. Also, I can't wait to see how the goldenboy Craft is treated by the refs, he's gonna have to make some serious adjustments if this is enforced.

Ever since Pitt started beating the shit out of everyone(off the ball too) and getting away with it because that's "their style of ball".
It's gotten out of hand and resulted in a lot of ugly basketball.
And yeah, as others said above, Louisville has become one of the worst offenders.
The sliding under a player and taking a charge thing has been out of control for close to a decade too. Both problems need to be fixed for a better quality game.
