Andrew Wiggins is already the consensus first overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft before playing a regular season game for the Kansas Jayhawks, and adidas looks to be all-in early as well. The company is prepared to offer Wiggins a $180 million contract once he declares for the draft, according to Jared Zwerling of Bleacher Report:
"From what I'm hearing, (Adidas) is really high on him," an industry source said. "I've heard a range for sure, from like $140 to $180 million for like 10 years. That's a big deal for a kid coming out of school because most rookie deals are probably like four years."
"I'm hearing from people at Kansas that he's got a $180 million offer supposedly coming from Adidas," a source close to Wiggins' inner circle said. "But I also heard that Nike is going to match anything."
It's worth noting that Wiggins cannot sign a contract with any company until he ends his NCAA career to move up to the NBA, so this is still a few months away.

I saw Jared Zwerlings piece on bleacher report. well sourced and all, but cmon son, kid hasn't even played a game and they're floating these numbers out?
And when he goes 4/17 in a conference road game they'll come for him w. pitchforks n torches (literally. it's the big 12)
anyway, Bron had the skills and makeup to be a fantastic pitchman and even he's been aiiight as a shoe seller.
wiggins is more of the d rose style. get hyped by what I do, but me, I ain't dancing.
adidas is gonna invest 400 mil in 2 guys with no personalities to sell shoes?
>anyway, Bron had the skills and makeup to be a fantastic >pitchman and even he's been aiiight as a shoe seller.
Lebron is great as a shoe seller. For 1 he has enabled Nike to go over the $200 threshold for his shoes which is something unmatched right now. 2. He is selling two pairs of shoes at a time, his shoe and also the zoom soldier team version both priced well above where they should be.
>adidas is gonna invest 400 mil in 2 guys with no personalities >to sell shoes? And yes adidas is that dumb on this part lol.

I'd say its a pretty safe investment. Give Bron his next 3-4 yrs then Push the Kid hard and the lane is wide open for him as far as apparel is concerned. I mean Durant is the next best seller right? He ain't that charismatic either.

LeBron made about $15M from Nike last year, they sold damn near $200M of his shoes wholesale.
This Wiggins doesn't shock me, if they want him they have to drop some serious dick on this bitch at the negotiating table. The dude is a savage. He deserves to get jocked from the gate the way that Bron, AI and I guess Shaq all were. Record setting deals.
And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

-The Knicksβ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

what ever they decide to do until they hit the age limit (train, go overseas, etc) it would be cool if the shoe companies started lil and 1 teams signing all the top college freshman and just touring with them playing ball (and showcasing new sneaks)
