He's seriously such a good fit for the D'Antoni offense.

Plus, now I can order a custom-made Lakers Kraken jersey.

Yes, Nerlens slipped and that sucked. But he ended up in a good situation.

But Archie made up for it by sneaking into the 1st round and getting that guaranteed bread...which is pretty impressive because we've had shooting guards in the past like Doron, Jodie, and DeAndre who were substantially better than him go in the 2nd.

I'd give Dukies an A since they both landed in great spots. Only way it could've gone better is if Seth had been drafted, but since he couldn't work out and he won't have recovered from surgery in time for summer league, that clearly wasn't going to happen.

Seth has a known skill.

And if Luke Zeller or Blake Griffin's brother can get a gig....shit J'Rue's brother can get a gig. Seth will.

He'll probably need a direct invite to a team's training camp.

Best chance I think is Charlotte trying for him as the hometown kid. Sucks that he'd be in Charlotte, but better there than nowhere.

I like Dieng, hence the plus. Assuming that we can keep Pek, he'll be a nice compliment off the bench, and the Wolves haven't had a legit shot blocking threat since KG.

I'm still in the process of talking myself into liking the Shabazz pick. I'll let you know when that happens.

Bazz where you took him is a great call, and Dieng is ready to hop in today. The trade was clutch too-- I think Bazz and Dieng together have more value than Burke.

Brown's potential is higher than 98% of the dudes available that low in the second too.

And I agree on picking two for one, but I don't see how Bazz is going to put it together in the league. He really only offers scoring, and he won't be able to rely on muscling his way past dudes in the NBA. There's only so much you can blame his lack of interest in anything unrelated to his own scoring chances on Ben Howland.

I really hope I'm wrong, obviously, but he was the dude who scared me the most coming into the draft. I'm still getting over it.

dealt a player they didnt need (likely made the pick for utah) for a great value in shabazz and a fair value in dieng. if they took shabazz at like No. 3, sure, get pissed and throw stuff. in the teens? nice pick.

Nice value at No. 6 and No. 11 but for a reason, some potentially ruinous things with both big talents.

I didnt like what they did in the second all that much but it was OK. I would have liked Ledo in there. I did not understand the Glen Rice Jr pick at all.

Kabongo is a stash-in-the-D-League guy at first, sure (most 2nd round picks are), but he has a chance to become a multi-year guy. Siva is not that. Siva is the classic undersized exciting college PG with no chance to stick in the pros.

Isaiah Canaan seems to be a good pick up at #34

Some say he should have went in the 1st.

It was the only pick they had so they made it count.

Stupid athletic, crazy good jumper, good handle, said to be poor on D.

Will be a good role player and who knows....

Morey finds them Second round gems on the regular...

Parsons
Budinger
Landry

This kid Canaan might just be a player.

We see through all that boo boo like it's ghost shit... (c) Quelle Chris

Philly's 2nd rounder goes to us. Trade can't be official until July 11th, hence the confusion.

they have a dude with a bum knee who prolly won't even play until march, if it all.

and a PG who can't shoot very well.

if they don't get wiggins or parker, it's a bad deal, because that draft is SEVERELY overrated.

on them getting 1 of the top 2 picks next yr
cause them two niggas they scooped last night is some fucking PROJECTS
if the sixers fuck around and drop out of them top spots on some bobcats shit it's a fucking L and another decade of being shitty

another thing being overlooked is the sixers gotta spend $25+ mil on FA this offseason
they might fuck around and sign someone good enough to stick them in that 9-10th seed in the east again
OR/AND
overpay a bum ass nigga like monte ellis/josh smith

Really I'm fine with the deal overall, would have rather had CJ at #11 but Noel + their lotto is fine to start over with.

I liked Jrue because he was good but mostly because we had him on a managable deal to be pretty good but the reality is this team was three years away anyway, by which point we'd need to pay him again or move him.

Might as well bottom out, stack lotto balls & hope a couple strike.

Jrue is never going to be anymore than the third-best guy on a contender.

i dunno man, let's not have *too* much optimism here.

need i remind you that noel could easily carry on in the tradition of injured and/or underachieving sixers bigs? that MCW has a pretty spotty track record for consistency and is definitely a project?

we don't know about next year yet.

we do know jrue was an excellent player and still getting better.

i appreciate that the sixers maximized the return here but they did so by giving a guy not even in his prime yet with a very good contract, so they should have gotten optimal return.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

are tripping on shipping jrue so hard. yes, he showed marked improvement & pseudo-improved (as a #2 option, on occasions, AT BeST), but I think that all we can do is hope that the apparent foresight is generous & not hopelessly pensive

but i do agree that they did this right. imagine if they have moved iggy right when his extension kicked in, would have saved years of mediocrity and nervousness about his value or whatever.

they maximized the return by getting him on a reasonable deal and trading him at the peak of his value.

got two knockdown shooters who will immediately be expected in the rotation
our bench is already better plus with the euro cat possibly coming next season
we will be with 4 deadly shooters only other move i will make is get a bamma backup center and we still need one more guy who can put the ball on the floor and create a shot.

The Clippers needed a shooter and got a good one. He's probably a better rebounder than Caron is so that's a plus.

Brooklyn: A

They got a huge frontline now, with Plum spelling old ass KG and Brook for 20 minutes a night. so powerful.

Chicago: F

They good enough to not be good enough...for like the 6th time in 8 years.

Cleveland: A-

Would be an A if they'd kept Crabbe and booted Dion

Miami: A+

I want to say A+, because I am ecstatic for JRUUUUUE.

But that was a heavier price to pay than I would expect. Noel and a 2015 pick would have been enough. But oh well, a 23 year old All Star point guard on a 4-year deal comes on the trade market once every oh NEVER, so we'll take it.

I see most Sixer fans are busted up about seeing him go, which is encouraging. Love his game.

This draft filled one important need for the Bulls: Shooting...Snell and Murphy offers PLENTY of that, especially from the 3 point line...

The problem though is coach Thibs....Dude is a genius...The best coach in the league (sorry Pop)...But he hates to play rookies....Dude needs to get over this, especially with Snell who can actually shoot on the run (this is something we have been missing)...

As is, these were good picks...

Now if the basketball Gods can only drop Portland's Aldridge in our lap (If only dude could take a stand and tell the suits that it's the Bulls or bust)then I would be a happy man....I know that shit ain't gonna happen...but hey...U never know...

Now it's about getting some size to help Noah rest....

Sometimes the obvious choice is the hardest to make.

With Bmac and Noel sitting there, it took some discipline.

might have helped that Bennett wasnt on the board...

Now they just gotta keep Webster.

Hilarious that they had to add GRJr to the list. Its like EG knew the team's character was too high. Needed a ninja with a history of bad decisions to fill that low IQ hole Mcgee n them left.

I like that neither of the guys they picked up yesterday is going to help the team next year (traded Ledo for Wolters, btw), so they can make a run at high lottery.

It was disheartening to read that Hammonds is talking about signing Jennings long-term. Please just blow it up, get Wiggins or Jabari, and start over.

We got one future starter in Victor Oladipo & a potential bench PF/C with a decent jumper and size in Romero.

Filled a couple of needs while staying the course.

Then when we go small Melo to 4, shump moves to 3, THJ at 2 with Priggie.

If we can find a couple bigs to take 10 min a night then our small ball line up will be very good for resting Melo/Chandler.

We just need the big bodies when it comes to playoff time.

Would be an A- if we managed to murk off Evan The Muppet in deal too, kinda worried now if he'll be getting enough clock on the court to possibly slow down any positive development from MCW who only worries me when it comes to shooting. If he can show good decision making as a rookie tho I'll be content with him & in worst case scenario I see him as an Jumbo sized Rondo as far as being a iffy shooter who can do anything else you ask him to do.

As for our skinny big man, not comfy going from one big man with bad knees to another but he's a wait & see and once he steps on floor I can still see him showing some of his upside right away on the boards & grit on the inside. Worst case he's a Theo Ratliff who may be a better scorer.
