"76ers Hire Brett Boone, er-Larry Brown, wait no BRETT BROWN As Next Coach"

Telling that somehow the New York media broke this story *cough Josh Harris old favor cough*

But nah, I'm good with it I guess even though I didn't really know his name until ten minutes ago.

Spurs Assistant & Former Player Development Coach.....good lineage, the development side will hopefully help our young gutted roster by teaching while tanking.

No issues with this hire on its face.

Guess the dude decided he wanted to coach the Sixers more than the Celtics moving forward.

Damn if we could have only gotten CJ in tonight's madness I'd be really, really happy instead of just pleasant & cautiously optimistic.

TRUST THE DATA!

http://www.nydailynews.com/sixers-spurs-asst-brett-brown-head-coach-article-1.1384728

The Sixers have decided to hire San Antonio assistant coach Brett Brown as their new head coach, the Daily News has learned.
Brown replaces Doug Collins, who was not retained after this past season. Brown was an assistant for the past seven seasons under Gregg Popovich. Before that, he was the Spurs' player development coach for five years. He was also a candidate for the vacant Boston Celtics job to replace Doc Rivers and was up for the Denver job that went to Brian Shaw.
Brown, who played his college basketball at Boston University under Rick Pitino, is the second Spurs assistant to land a head coaching job this off-season. No. 1 assistant Mike Budenholzer was hired by the Atlanta Hawks to replace Larry Drew.

since he was already an established coach.

Other than that, they've done alright.

I like the 'Player Development' angle with this dude, that's what this team is gonna need for the next couple lotto-bound seasons.

Jury still out on Jacque Vaughan since he was given one of the worst teams in the league.

I think they kinda have had beef since because they were competing but Doc studying under Riles & Riles stating him being the next great coach was a big narrative in the mid-90s.

shitting on Hinkie up through last night to a man. Bob Cooney on Macnow's show was like 'are they even having a draft event?'.

I think feeding that bit to New York though was Joshua Harris with one of his New York people since that's his stomping grounds.

Hinkie would probably keep his hire secret until opening night if he could.

This dude is apparently all about the element of surprise & a student of subterfuge.

between this & the Dei Lynam thing about firing the CEO, they seem to running a disinformation campaign over there, it's sort of amusing.

surprised about the lynam mixup, maybe less so about this. i guess he is still in the running for the job but it seems stupid to say this and then hire him. that is like an NHL management strategy, insist that there is no trade/firing/signing/hire and then 20 minutes later the story breaks with confirmation.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
