"Phils Catcher Darren "Dutch" Daulton Diagnosed w/ Brain Tumors"

This doesn't sound good at all, surgery right after detection generally means biopsy results or something else strongly suggested cancer. Not many details for now but send the dude some positive energy to get through the surgery and hopefully make a recovery:

http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/phillies/Ex-Phillie_Darren_Daulton_has_two_brain_tumors.html

Former Phillies catcher Darren Daulton, a member of the 1993 National League championship team, has been told by doctors that he has a pair of brain tumors and is scheduled for surgery next week, according to a statement released by 97.5 The Fanatic.

Darren Daulton has not been feeling well over the past two weeks. He went to the doctor who discovered two brain tumors and is scheduled for surgery early next week. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this difficult time. Of course we want to respect his privacy at a time like this, but if you would like to send him get well wishes you may do so at dutch@975thefanatic.com

Daulton - affectionately known as "Dutch" - was drafted by the Phillies in the 25th round of the 1980 amateur draft, and made his big-league debut in 1983.

During his 14 seasons with the Phillies, he hit 134 home runs, 189 doubles and knocked in 567 RBI. He was selected to three All Star Games (1992, '92, '95).

In 1997, Daulton was traded to the Marlins, where he won his first and only World Series title.

After the season, he retired from baseball. In 2010, the Phillies organization recognized the former catcher's accomplishments by inducting him into their Wall of Fame.

Now retired, Daulton hosts a daily show on the Fanatic called "Talkin' Baseball with Dutch."

Get well soon, Dutch.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
