I don't know how many games he started (quite a few, I'd imagine) but even if he started none at all, this is a guy who played 36+ minutes per night and played FORTY FIVE minutes a night for a couple seasons.

Ginobili is at least enough of a sixth man to consider and yes he is the best, but big up to Detlef Schrempf, Cliff Robinson and Jamal Crawford, excellent bench players for a number of years.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

and really by the time he got going he was getting starters minutes anyway.

Then again Ginobli's basically one too, once you start parsing thru it then the whole thing just feels like a waste of time.

But a Top 5 international player ever and Top 5 Power Forward ever, both Hall of Famers, ain't really '6th men'.

one season i would have to look at hondo, mchale and also billy cunningham and bob mcadoo.

for a career, eh, mchale outside of his very earliest years and last couple with a bad back was a starter.

manu has started close to half the games in his career.

more and more i think the "sixth man" thing is a dumb award and a manufactured discussion. I'd rather look at real reserves and their contributions. i don't think any of these guys qualify. mchale was often the second best player on his team, same could be said of hondo and manu was no worse than no. 3.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

They basically faced each other in 2 post-season series. JET outplayed prime Manu the 1st time including in GM 7 & the Mavs beat the Spurs after Manu's idiotic foul on Dirk. The 2nd time they faced JET was in a slump & over-the-hill Manu won the match-up hands down; the Spurs went on to upset the Mavs in 2010 in 5 games.

WHAT'S GOOD *****? What's REALLY good?!?!????!!! Ha HA!

more compelling, or at least they would be if literally everyone here hadn't had the benefit of an eyeball test where ginobili whipped terry, who is admittedly a good player and excellent as a reserve.

Manu isnt better than Terry?

besides just laughing and keeping it moving i just want to say without Manu stepping up clutch against the Suns in the playoffs the last 5-6 years, Suns would have won multiple rings. Manu is the Suns killer

I don't know why folks are shitting on him........he's a shooter but one of the best shooter in the history of the game & he can actually create his own shot unlike most of the folks on the list ....not to mention the number of big shots he has taken & made. I didn't bring him up as an insult to Manu but rather to give JET his dues.

game changer and impact player than any previous 6th man that I've seen play

Although I never saw John Havlicek play, it's hard for me to imagine Ginobili will be regarded as a better 6th man than the player the term "6th man" was coined after.
