"Taj Gibson makes nearly 10 mil per season"

Unchecked Booz-hate from Bulls fans and media got him a 4/38 deal. Worst contract in the L BY FAR. Like...BY FAR. Like it's so bad no one even puts him on worst contract lists because he's so bad. He's and 8 and 5 clown. It's disgusting. He's giving them NOTHING off the bench. If he were, the series would be over.

Niggas went hard on Booz and tryna be quiet about THIS NIGGA? Nah, he in my radar. I'm making y'all mad with his sorry ass exploits for the remainder of that contract.

Signed,

The Walk 'Em Down Agenda King

U don't get it, dog...

I care not for Duke/college agendas....I care not to debate with u (on this subject) who, again, is not even an NBA fan...

I'm a Bulls fan, dog...Dave Corzine, homie....I care about my squad, not college teams and worn out college crushes....(save that for the college debates, homie)

U jumped the gun again...At least slow down and cook the kid when he's actually playing under that contract...

U went a little nuts here because u thought the pussy was wet...Slow down, homie...It's not going anywhere..

1.) Because no one is a real Taj Gibson fan on OKP

2.) Booz played damn good this year, but what about the other 2 seasons in Chicago? SUB-PAR, especially in the post season...and his DEFENSE is still trash.

3.) Taj only made $2.1 milly this year.

Although Taj showed a lot of promise initially, he has gotten worse every year. He used to be able to hit a jumpshot, moved quicker on defense, and had better post moves. Maybe it's injuries but Taj isn't the dominant bench PF we once saw. He's almost 28 years old too. For a team already paying four different players 8 figures, to spend this much money on a guy who's going to give 15-20 minutes a night and not have any impact on the game is ridiculous.

Especially when you look at the choice made between Taj and Asik. I know Omer's contract was backloaded, but you've got to keep a 7ft defensive monster over an injury prone typical PF. There are at least 10 backup PFs that can put up the same numbers with a much cheaper pricetag.

Taj (mainly because of his contract and his lack of production) is by far the most frustrating player on the Bulls.

He's got to get more boards against their small frontline, but tonight was the best he's played in a while.

Heat play small and anytime they put Allen or Battier on Taj he should take them to the post or shoot over them. Taj is already a good defensive presence, which is why Thibs goes to him late in the game. When he's hitting that baseline/midrange jumper like he did tonight, he can provide some great minutes.

I'd love to see him give us some 15/10 games this series, the opportunity is there.

He's just a hustle player but yet he plays along side Noah who made the All-Star team just based on his hustle play. Not to mention they don't need his rebounding when Booz is pounding the board.

WHAT'S GOOD *****? What's REALLY good?!?!????!!! Ha HA!

a third through the season.

He trade bait in my opinion though I don't think we can move his contract unless it's with other assets.

For that money, he should have JaVale McGee potential at min.

Or at least be a Horace Grant clone.

He not that so far.

Hell in the nets post, I pointed out how he playing sub-par.

So I'm out. lol

Taj is playing on a team that's short on offensive fire power & is being asked to put up points as the main back-up big which isn't his forte. Thibs should just treat him like PJ Brown, basically play D/rebound & hit the 15 ft jumper. If Pop ever got his hands on Taj.......meeeeeennnn.

WHAT'S GOOD *****? What's REALLY good?!?!????!!! Ha HA!

15 footer, D and rebounding.

But he was doing it at a 15/10 clip.

Taj is just paid too much to do what he does. I don't think he'd get 15/10 with starters minutes. He needs to be making 6.5 mil a yr.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/gibsota01.html#salaries::none

Taj doesn't make 9 mil a year. Won't reach it by the time his contract is up.

It COULD get to that point with incentives. Meaning he has to hit certain markers to make the extra money.

His Per 36 numbers (basically starters minutes):
Last year - 12.8ppg, 8.5rpg, 2.2bpg, 48.5%FG (played 22mpg last yr)
This year - 13.9ppg, 8.6rpg, 2.1bpg, 47%FG (playing 24mpg this yr)

Per 36 he's comparable to:
Marc Gasol (14 mil)
Jonas Valanciunas (rookie deal)
DeAndre Jordan (10 mil)
Marcin Gortat (7.7 mil)
Amir Johnson (6.5 mil)
Omer Asik (8.3 mil)

Most of those guys are 6'11"+ C's. Taj is 6'9".

His deal wasn't that bad and based on the numbers, he'd be no worse than any of the guys listed if he started. And they all start for the most part or started last year.

base contract is 4/33. that's not "nearly 10 per"

the 38 is with incentives, smart guy. you have to EARN incentives. if he gets that money, it means he played well enough to deserve it.

http://tinyurl.com/lc8wj6z <--- 13 ppg, 6.7 rpg, making $12M this yr
http://tinyurl.com/4xzjnhd <--- 11 ppg, 7 rpg. making $9M this yr
http://tinyurl.com/7b3uoo3 <--- 14 and 6, making $8M
http://tinyurl.com/ld43bp7 <--- 14 and 6, making $11M
http://tinyurl.com/lzwocds <--- 14 and 5, at $11M
http://tinyurl.com/4zncbzu <--- 15 and 6, $13M
http://tinyurl.com/3tzhsz9 <--- 15 and 6, $19M

taj gibson plays 27 minutes a game. puts up 12 points & 6.5 boards. plays stellar defense.

he's making $7.5M this season. same as marvin williams, tayshaun prince, and john salmons.

the notion that he's got "the worst contract in the league BY FAR" is too fucking stupid to seriously debate.

bye
