They were booing Richard and Venus for what was perceived as the father controlling who would play

compounded by Venus withdrawing in the semis

and avoiding a potential matchup with Serena

you can actually see people standing and applauding Serena

and as she approaches her family's box

that turns to boos as Richard and Venus come into the picture

of course I wasn't there

and if they heard Nigger, as has been reported

it's totally their prerogative

but then again, if it was racist, aren't they giving the racists a W, by not playing

whatever the intent of the crowd is, really isn't the point IMO

taking your ball and going home doesn't exactly solve anything

and I know that doesn't have anything to do with them being professional tennis players

they aren't social activists

but which ever narrative you take

nepotism or racism

I would think 2 african american sisters playing on the professional tennis circuit would be better prepared to deal with either of those situations

FOH to these writers telling them to get over it. that final match is one of the few sporting events i can remember exactly where i was and what i was doing, because i was kinda shocked at it all. so i can only imagine how they felt

And we should only send a bunch of dudes that are on HGH and don't talk much...and just have them mean mugging the rest of the crowd the entire tournament.
